Awesome video, looking forward to future uploads. Had to sell my 2000 3.8 mustang to accelerate my progress in getting my very own garage. Flipping cheap cars in the rain on the dirt with the stupid fire ants. My motivation is a 99 3.8 block on a engine stand and a box of forged connecting rods collecting dust waiting to be put together. your videos inspire me to keep on working. 👍

Just picked up a 2003 V6 103k original miles paid 1000 dude thought it was gonna be a ton of money to get it going.. cracked vacuum line and the fuel cut off was tripped also he tried to change the battery and the imobilizer (theft) system came on!! So 20 minutes of messing around with it and the rest of the hour laughing I got the girl fired up for a even G! Has the upgraded intake manifold and I'm going to do a little bit of body work and always remember that a coat of paint hides a lot of sin!!! Its getting some suspension work also then I'll clear around $2000 for a few days of work!
Oh yeah...it's a convertible too!

This is the best sounding V6 I've ever heard, of any car, holy SHIT. I just started doing work on my 3.8 and have no idea what I'm doing yet. Nice video my friend.
If you need any help on questions on it I can help you answer them. I literally just finished rebuilding the engine on my 2001 v6 mustang yesterday and is fun to drive!

Clean mustang mine is more of sleeper but supercharger definitely works..

The SC motor has magnesium valve covers and oil pan. Don't mistake them for aluminum
What bodykit is on the car??

What bumper is that? I’ve completely rebuilt my v6 with a crate 3.8 and all, and now I’m on to the body. Got a guy willing to paint but I need to upgrade the looks haha.

The Thunderbird SC used a locking 8.8" IRS rear axle. That 3.8L Mustang has a open 7.5". I would suggest getting a 8.8 from a GT

How much does the 3.8 gain in HP with the turbo or supercharge? And is cold air intake worth it? I'm actually thinking about keeping it... famous words to the wife...I'll be able to make at least a couple Gs on It😆😆!! Story of my life!!! Now I have 4 hondas 2 CRVs 1st gen and actually a wreked 2003 only bought for the K swap 2 f250s a F150 2 subies and a Sentra!! All in less than a year and all still in my possession!! Haha all conditions I got it covered!!?😆🤔
turbo or supercharger is going to gain 100hp or more... tuning, and other mods play a big part in that. If you plan to build a six just to sell it, you will not make money on it lol. The cold air helps but you wont feel much of a difference.

Damn how did u afford all that I know it ain't cheap. U must got a good ass job. I ain't hating at all I respect anyone who does upgrading to a v6 cause I'm doin the same thing people underestimate what they can do the motor is so much lighter then the 2v.
LOL, Saving is how I afford the stuff. I'm 19, 18 when I made this video. I used to work at BobEvans making $10 a hour, now I work around Airplanes making a bit more.
The 3.8L engine is overlooked and misunderstood. It has huge cylinders with 38.6ci per cylinder compared to the 4.6L which has only 35.0ci per cylinder and the 5.0L which has 37.7ci per cylinder. In this respect the valves and ports of the V6 should be bigger then those on a V8 302. My point is that the engine should be built based on the cylinder size and not on the fact it only has 231ci.

The 3.8L has 1.86/1.46 size valves while the 5.0L Cobra with GT40 heads have 1.85/1.54 valves. The GT40p heads have smaller exhaust valves at 1.46. This means that the factory 3.8L heads have valves that are a hair bigger than 5.0L GT40P heads. For comparison the 1993 GT 5.0L has small 1.78/1.46 valves.
99-01 3.8v6s cam specs:
178int/194exh (@ .050" lift] Duration
.427/.446" valve lift. 116 Lobe sep, 111 Intake c/l
89-95 Mustang GT 5.0L cam specs:
212int/208exh [@ .050" lift] Duration
.444" valve lift. 115.5 lobe sep.
The duration on the 3.8L is terrible and should be at least as big as the 5.0L. For reference, performance cams start around the 220-240 duration range.
