  • At the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, animal ambassadors are an integral part of the training and education students in the Wildlife Biology and Wildlife Rehabilitation academic programs receive. Animal ambassadors live at the center full-time and are unable to be released back into the wild. Monitoring their care is important, and conducting regular check-ups ensures their health and gives students important practice for conducting procedures with wildlife patients. In this video students help May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center Veterinarian Sam Young conduct a regular check-up on Captain, a red-tailed hawk who has been an animal ambassador at the center for several years.
