- Now that I explored Shadow Garden and Cid Kagenou, it's time to go into the individual members of his 7 Shadows (harem). And what better way than to start with the second-in-command of Shadow Garden, Alpha, Cid's first waifu. I'll be going Alpha's full character and abilities to see just who she really is as well as how powerful is she.

I love the scene where she meets him in his room after he was released from interrogation. She is dressed up as a schoolgirl, brings him food, takes his shoes off, and cleans up after him. She is treating him like a husband who just got back from a grueling day of work. What Alpha wants is to be his devoted wife, and it's just so adorable.
Nah, she has no romantic feelings, that scene was for fans and added with the fact that only sees him as the lord of shadows.

In John Smith arc, we saw a glimpse into Alpha's heart. All that she wanted is to be Shadow/Cid's equal, she wanted to be by his side not following him, She even said it herself that, if Cid wanted to abandon Shadow Garden she would do so in a heart beat.
Another thing, Alpha for all the time she fought John Smith/Shadow/Cid, she was begging and crying for Shadow to bring her with him.
@@benjaminbohrn5696actually that exactly what most shadow garden member feel. Even Delta voice her opinion about Cid start having children with them. Some of shade even start their own rogue organization to find a way to make Cid immortal in order to create the secular and eternal god to rule the world. But in all cases, Cid just living like he is following his dream of eminent in the shadow with once in a while doing his bucket list. Which is nice. We can’t have walking talking over power nuclear going off all over the place.
I think it'll be so funny for Cid to beat the cult without ever knowing they exist or just find out so randomly that he was right the whole time because that is comedy gold.

@@D00MTR33 Surprisingly, he's a genius! He's just so delusional that he's clueless, he never pays attention to the and guy's speech while he's in his own world! So I really want to know what he thinks people are talking about, all the Rounds he's killed and everything.
One thing really like about this anime and many others is that Japan just keeps showing how to create great female characters. They know how to make them badass (with actual training and struggle), likable, well written, good looking and feminine.
The show Reacher and the John Wick movies are the only Western live action projects that do the same. Kung Fu movies do it, too, but through some sort of supernatural abilities.
I have some really bad and depressing news for you. Wokeness is slowly but steadily creeping it's way into Japanese media and art forms. It's still subtle at the moment but the woke mindset is starting to take hold of beloved Japan.

Have to disagree here, he's basically what made it happen. Even if he thinks it's a delusion he still thinks how to benefit the organization like an actual founder, Alpha is just the perfect manager because she isn't as merciful as cid to others. With cid's random whims and hunches he made the organization's tasks 10 times faster lol.
Cid doesn't really do too much thinking but he has whether intentional or not made this organization possible and also contribute a huge amount to it even if it's his plaything

Tactical nuke? He literally gave them powers, helped everyone, lifted alphas curse. You really trying to downplay cid? Their movement and plans are based on what cid wants and doing. Your acting like he doesnt do anything and his just there like some strong lacky that will just kill anyone. His literally their leader and all of what they do is what he orders them to do.
Everything that they have done is bcus of cid. Everything that they accomplished is bcus of cid. The mcodnalds knock off, the malls, the best selling novels, etc etc. Heck even their slime powers was given to them by cid. Their swordplay, techniques, etc etc are bcus of cid. My theory is that CID isn’t just lucky he actually has a subconscious knowledge of everything that is going on in the world making him a true eminence in shadow

Alpha is most likely the 2nd most OP in that universe because she's Cid's 1st disciple and he's taught her more than the rest since he was still experimenting and not so much thinking about what he should share. Another note is that she comes from the heroes' bloodline. The one most powerful in terms of raw power was the Witch then the 3 heroes.
Most of the people in Shadow Gardens elite are heroes bloodline. Otherwise you don't get the weird mutation stuff. That's like the whole point of the diabolos cult.

It is actually kinda hilarious that, had this show been seen through the eyes of Alpha, it would have been a deep, emotional (Although also a bit cliche) fantasy story with a bunch of plot twists, powerful scary organizations and political intrigue.
It would be a decently deep action fantasy with a god like intriguing character we would barely know anything about that seem to somehow know everything about the world despite being younger than the main character with obvious hints of being from the real world!
It would have probably been really intriguing and made for a lot of theories!
I kinda love how it is only a comedy because we are following the main character that we are. Had we been seeing it through any other character's eyes it would have probably been a kinda scary story.
Now I'm imagining at the end of that just the words "wait the cult of diablo is real?" and then "The End"
I wish we got more Alpha time in the anime, cause the fact that she treats him more as a lover when they're alone is something I wish we got to see more of lol (only 1 time that I remember in Season 1)
Sadly ... going by the Novel ... she's the one of the Seven Shades who has the least of interactions with him, that could be misunderstood as a romantic scene.
The kindest or second kindest of the 7 shadows behind Epsilon. She's the original recruit her but Cid didn't intentionally recruit her or intend to recruit anyone else after her when she insisted on devoting her life to him. Alpha is the one that asked Cid to take in the other 6 shadows because she wanted to help them and wanted help for Cid's crusade (empathizing with other possessed and willing to share Cid.)
It's strange that Alpha is the only one of the Seven Shades who doesn't have a public persona (aside from Delta, who is unable to not call his Mob persona "Boss Man").
Personal Theory: she's waiting for the day he'll need a "Mob Wife" to take a persona!
I really like alpha but I just wish there are more interactions between him and Cid. Rn their relationship seems more professional than personal imo, focusing on more behind-the-scene work...it'd be nice to see them just chatting casually.

Really great overview of the character, though I would highly suggest you to watch the game content that is 'Seven Chronicles' which basically covers whole time skip story of 2 years and the gameplay story actually covers remaining members namely deta and eta, and don't worry the content is canon written by author himself.
Fun facts: 1) Alpha is actually only member who addresses Cid as Shadow while other uses Lord Shadow/ Shadow-sama 2) She is really possessive about her first seat in SG as she feels that's how she can get closer to cid and whosoever challenges for that seat actually faces her full wrath (mainly Delta is the one to do that and that's how she tamed her also why Delta was so afraid of her 3) she also suggest that they should use sword as their weapons to represent shadow's will (if see character weapons in game then alpha is only one with sword similar to Cid) 4) Alpha and Beta are only people that got personal training from cid himself as he hasn't trained any other members or he lost will to train them LOL
Please i hope you at least watch the story of the game even if you don't want to play it

She is also the closest person to Cid when it comes to power and techniques. Honestly, I think Alpha is the only one who can be Cid's legal wife. She is so serious, the coolest and so capable. Everyone should be proud to have such a capable leader as Alpha.

I think cid ignores all things that destroy his own delusion since he just want to look cool and do whatever he wants with all the power he has and he's prepared for it even with murder,racking his brain for revenge,justice or even domination is the last thing he will do since he just want one thing a true eminence in shadow and the rest are extras except for the things that he choose to recognize and felt attachment to it

Faaaaantastic video. I adore Alpha. Though, picking a fav Shadow is rough. They all are gorgeous and brilliant in their own way. I hope for more Alpha solo accomplishments in future volumes, as well as more Eta involvement, and clarification of WTF Zeta is thinking. Volume 5 tweaked my brain so very hard.

Also, I still can't help but feel that the reason he was isekai'd to the magical world was to counter teh demon possession disease and to counter teh diablos cult. Like the world brought him in as a white blood cell.
He is at least not the cliche naive boy who gets flustered by beautiful girls. The best part is that he wasn’t given any powers but earned them with his own effort.

how they earn their stronghold in mist forest, how they start a business, how they trained etc etc.
i suggest play optional story in game to learn more but don't spend money though, it overly monetize...

Long story short, out of all the characters that's been introduced so far, Alpha is the strongest after Cid.

Cid mentions on multiple occasions, how Delta is the strongest physically, but the reality is that in an actual fight, she's nowhere close to Alpha. Therianthropes, the race Delta belongs to, are the "might makes right" kind of race, where the strongest rules all the rest. Delta herself is very extreme about that rule, even compared to other Therianthropes.
When She was a kid, she was easily one of the strongest in her pack, only second to the pack's leader (her father), which she was expected to surpass in just a couple of years, and that's when she was stricken by the possession.
Alpha and Cid found her in the forest on the verge of death. When she sees Cid for the very first time, she instinctively feels that she has absolutely no chance of defeating him and accepts him as the "pack leader" right away, but as soon as she gets healed, she immediately sets her eyes on Alpha's position as the second in command and challenges her. The only thing we get to hear is pissed off Alpha's, "HUH?!", and based on how Delta only listens to Cid and Alpha's orders now, we can easily assume what happened after. xD
Yes, Alpha is the only member to have ever defeated Delta so she only obeys Alpha's commands (outside of Shadow).

Cid is not a Mascot he is the reason why Shadow Garden would Prosper into a big organization with his so called Shadow Knowledge and Teaching the Seven Shades everything they know be it Swordsmanship, Magic or Their Special Skills that Some of the Seven Shades use as their Public Persona also he is the Reason that the Posses can be Healed and Returned to Normal in his case with a Bonus of Additional Upgrade in Physical and Magical Abilities. He is just oblivious of what is happening around him and thinks that everyone is playing along with his shenanigans and role play as the "Eminence in Shadows".
Cid is the founder. And is the reason it is even a thing. He gave them everything they have. And is the reason they are as strong as they are. Don't disrespect Cid like that.

Yes Alpha may be the potential leader of Shadow Garden, she is powerful and after all she did do all the leg work for the creation of Shadow Garden, but Cid is in doubt the true leader due to his knowledge from his past life he bestowed upon them, with the fact that he did save her life, along with a few others. Yes I am defending Cid despite his ignorant egotistic ass. Without his knowledge from his past life that they used in a way to benefit the Garden, they wouldn't have made it as far as they did and he does care about them despite his character.

She maybe the second strongest in Shadow Garden, but, when it comes to mental state, she probably the weakest among the other members. I mean she literally looks about to end herself after knowing that Shadow decided to abandon her (even though it just a misunderstanding)
She is mentally. But she deeply loves Cid and vowed to live for him. Due to misunderstanding, she believed that he didn’t need her anymore and could die, more or less.
If I had to choose as cid the fav girl is delta coss she is as psycho as cid but if I had to choose as my self it would be beta

All I know is that the author deliberately wrote a harem story (but with less generic love tropes) where only female characters are cursed and they all happened to be beautiful girls because if there’s a single guy in Shadow Garden besides Cid himself, people wouldn’t like the show that much, then the series wouldn’t be as popular as it, or worst it wouldn’t even get published at all!
There is cursed guys too ma boy but the difference is that they lost their mind and they don't rot to death like the girls, for that reason the cult uses them as their private army, in fact they call them "cursed children" and the ones that don't go crazy get names and become officers within the cult.
originally the hero project involved both sexes but the boys were discarded for going crazy and that is why the three heroes are women also the cult continues to use possessed girls to do experiments

Long time ago the Mist Dragon and the king of Midgar had a pact. Over time the humans somehow ignored it so the dragon destroyed their capital which was Alexandria. Then when the 7 shadows and Cid was looking for a base, they came across with the Mist Dragon. Cid was able to defeat it but wasnt able to kill. So the dragon allowed SG to stay in Alexandria hoping that 1 day Cid will kill him.
