    Had to install the Hammer Built Bronco Spare Tire Reinforcement Bracket or else I'd literally bend the tailgate while off-roading! This thing is super stout, made in the USA, and has a lot of brackets available (and more coming).

    This is a great video but I don't understand these reinforcements. I have a Bronco Raptor and it has the same kind of thing from the factory. It looks like it's simply reinforcing the sheet metal and not the actual place that is bearing the weight (the hinges and the hinge bolts). Looks nice, though!

    Absolutely love following this build, super excited to see where it goes

    Wish this had been on the market when I pulled the trigger on my RC reinforcement. Guess I could try and sell it second-hand, but...ugh, not sure I want to go through all the hassle of removing that plate just to install another.

    Cool install, it would be cool to see someone make spare tire carrier like Teraflex makes for the Jeep JL where it also replaces the hinges also to a heavy duty where most of the wait is located.

    RIP that rear brake light tho eh? lol
    As for sliders... I went with RCI Offroad with the 20º angle up... after looking all around at all the options... liked these the most and most practical for clearance and ability and looks imo.

      Those are pretty sweet! Do they still give you a little ledge to step on? My gf needs that to get in/out. I was also scoping the DV8 ones.

    OEM 35 inch tires weigh 60 pounds each. If you go to 37s use a BFG KO2 Load C. Its the same as the Raptor and they weigh 65 pounds.

    Everyone always forgets about the air in the tire that adds weight.

    Does your bronco fit in your garage? Do you think a 5 inch lift with 35s would fit in your garage?

    • @JacobRDoty
      @JacobRDoty  Před 2 lety +1

      It will not. I actually measured the top the other day for a forum member. Mine is around 78" tall at the highest point of the roof

    How is your payload looking with the mods? This looks great.

    • @JacobRDoty
      @JacobRDoty  Před 2 lety

      Thanks! Payload should be pretty unaffected. The load rating on the tires is actually higher than OEM. Really the only difference so far is maybe 35-40lbs more off the tailgate than OEM Sasquatch for loaded weight

      @kcw9313 Před rokem

      @@JacobRDotyI don’t think you’re understanding his question. He is asking about vehicle payload not the “payload” or load rating regarding the tire dude.

    Great video but you kind of skipped over the most important parts. Drilling bolts and handling the bracket. Like you skipped right to the end of the tire carrier and I wanted to see how you handled the micro fiber towel and alignment of the hinges.... Kind of a shame and not helpful for me.

    • @JacobRDoty
      @JacobRDoty  Před 9 měsíci

      That’s because there isn’t any drilling. It lines up with the existing hinge bolts

  • @ChynaVirus
    @ChynaVirus Před 2 lety

    How'd you add a 3 inch lift and the 37s still rub on the back? I've seen other videos with a lift or simple level kit and 37s fit perfect....

    • @JacobRDoty
      @JacobRDoty  Před 2 lety +1

      I don’t rub in the back - I rubbed on my side steps

    • @ChynaVirus
      @ChynaVirus Před 2 lety

      @@JacobRDoty I meant I haven’t seen rub anywhere on any other video with 37s and the lift…is something different about yours or will 37s rub the step generally speaking on OBX?

    • @JacobRDoty
      @JacobRDoty  Před 2 lety +2

      It’s just the OBX step. They hang super low and go all the way up to the fender. The rock rails or non side step equipped ones aren’t having these issues. Haven’t ever seen an Outerbanks on 37s with my wheel offset (wheel offset matters a lot) with the oem side steps so that’s prob why

    I bought the code orange raptor bronco like a real alpha male

  • @forgivemylaughter
    @forgivemylaughter Před rokem

    Is this really a thing or some bull shit marketing to sell more accessories? I’d imagine Ford built the initial platform to hold tires in general which come in different sizes and weights. I know the raptor had a support and that’s where this all started but the raptor is meant for hardcore off road baha type driving! Do you need this for a 35 70 17 type basic large wheel? Just street cruising and winter roads no off road shit.
