    You should also soak your new chain in oil prior to putting it on, it may "feel" oily but that is a rust inhibitor, not oil. Also, clean all the crap out of the cover and bar before you put it back together.

    I took my plate off to investigate what I thought might be too much gunk inside the chainsaw (hadn’t seen this vid yet), the plate was stubborn to come off, turns out I had the break engaged and now I can’t get it back on right, can’t get the break mechanism to disengage (at least that’s what I think is happening)

    DISENGAGE BRAKE FIRST! DISENGAGE BRAKE FIRST! PULL BACK TOWARDS THE HANDLE. !!!!FIRST!!!! Otherwise, you’ll probably have to go back to the store to have it serviced. Terrible design but that is what it is. DO NOT GET IT WRONG.

    Forgot about STEP 1. DISENGAGE BRAKE. If you don't it turns in to a real F-ing job

      So how do I fix this now that it's taken apart and I didn't disengage? 🤦

      @actontreadway1168 Před 4 měsíci

      @@josephlund1234there might be a video on how to do it but my understanding is that you’ll have to take it to a service location.

    You didn't say to push the bar up before tightening it.

    This is a chain for homeowner saws, and as a homeowner in the Southeast who doesn't really count wood by the cord czcams.com/users/postUgkxbs4FIpzuLyOJe2SesfbtvXi1CTnUXroD I have this (or 20BPX) on several saws at different levels of smallness. I've never felt that the safety chain is holding me back. I buy multiple chains, and when the installed one doesn't feel grabby enough, I file it, then throw it in a cup of gasoline while I rotate to the next one. I have yet to file one down to the wear lines, so I feel like I'm getting my money's worth, and I'm happy about this new 3-pack - although, at this rate, it's going to be awhile before I buy another. I don't know why I would try anything else.

    It is nowhere near that easy. Getting the chain on the gears is very difficult. It slides off when you try and slide the bar in. Way more complicated than this video suggests.
