One thing about being an old man, is I sometimes get vivid memories from when I was a child. The recent one has a snippet of an old song my dad loved to listen to when it came on the BBC rebroadcast on CBC radio.

I've been wanting to get out and do some camping but we are still getting rain here many days.. and I've been behind on some of my chores and now it's hot and humid, waiting till fall might be a good idea. This morning has been housework and pitting cherries to freeze. Clean wood blinds 👍. I need to start considering replacing rugs also, sorry about your Persian rugs but you are right, things wear out. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Richard.
arrgh moths! Loved your walks and seeing your garden, all the summer work in maintenance can be so frustrating for me to keep on top off. Having enough growth in the middle of winter here weeds and grass growing expotentially.

Thank you, the visit to Kew was lovely but watching you catching up with housework made me feel slightly guilty,as I haven’t done much this week! But as my pal use to say “ the dust will still be there tomorrow but the sun may not”….. that’s my excuse anyway😊
Sunday today and I’ve got loads to do in the garden, everything seems to have gone mad and my shrubs need cutting back so I can at least find the path 😂

Loved the Fantasia soundtrack while watching Kew. Kept expecting to see Paul doing pirouettes on the path ahead of you! LOL. The Chilterns walk is such a gorgeous little woodland. So pretty. Really glad you've enjoyed your little break from work. It's probably done your mental health the world of good. In Australia we call your blinds "Plantation Shutters". I love them. I think yours look in great condition.
Loved the Vlog. Kew gardens are so beautiful. I also loved the music. The Chilton's looked beautiful too. Today I cleaned the car and this afternoon mowed the grass. When my husband was alive he cleaned the car and we both worked in the garden. But now it's all my responsibility. So I should sleep well tonight. I hate cleaning the car. I love your house and garden.

Nice blog. I note you use metric temperatures but road signage still seems to be in miles. What is the official position in UK with metric versus imperial units? Perhaps post-Brexit there is a move away from any metric units.....
Yes, road signage is miles and I don't see that changing. I'm not aware of any changes due to brexit. We use metric officially for weighing food, but our generation understands pounds and ounces...but in terms of body weight we sometimes use stones rather that kilograms...for height and length we very often mix things up, sometimes feet and inches...sometimes centimetres and metres but officially it's always metric.
