Hi Bernardo, I think the main problem of trying to do Judo takedowns in BJJ is the fact that all the guys keep their body really low. If Mr Satoshi could record a video giving hints on that would be great.

It’s usually really easy to do this technique when people try to get lower, because they lose their legs’ range of movement. Get the lapels grip just behind the neck, and use your forearm to keep them low. Pull them towards you, and when they try to resist a little bit putting their weight to the back, you do the ouchi gari or kouchi gari. Works wonders! They’ll not be able to step over your leg to get out.

@@_bitheadnull4518 as a judoka who cross trains that's exactly how I do it and can attest to how effective it is against bent over players. Very high percentage and low risk, it's my go to takedown.

I'm also a judoka and Ko uchi, sumi gaeshi, and kata guruma are my most common attacks for BJJ--against that lower, bent over stance. I occasionally use this throw, Ouchi Gari as well, which is interesting because I rarely hit that in Judo randori but i do all the time in BJJ.
