I grew up in an abusive home and I'm still afraid to confront my parents about what they did to me because I know there would be no going back. (moved out 5 years ago, it's been about 10 years since I last got beaten up. Nobody talks about it as if it wasn't a completely normal thing to happen back then) I wouldn't be able to see my younger siblings anymore. Even the slightest hint on the topic gets my parents mad. I honestly don't know what to do. It hurts so much to know that my parents wouldn't support me anymore if I were honest, even though I just want my family to heal. That's why I'm so happy for you. The supportive part of your family sounds awesome, it's comforting to know that there's so much love out there. It gives me hope for my future. I wish all of us could get the love we deserve.
Vera I waited to confront my parents until my sister was 18. I feel for you, but your siblings may need you which is why I waited. It also gave me time to plan it out and what I would say. For me it was worth the wait. They couldn't control my sisters and brother anymore. Wishing you all the best.
My wife has had such a hard time with her parents ever since she came out to them. Her dad is mostly ok but doesnt use her name/pronouns around family. Her mom on the other hand has been nothing but rude. She refuses to use name/pronouns and makes jokes about her purse, asks why she cant be a woman without transitioning, etc. This has gone on for 2 years and its really affected her mental health. I think time will heal all wounds but at this point I'm starting to see we might be better off cutting them out of our lives.
You two sould cut back slow from them and they will see that they pushed her u away .and they will feel guilt and it will hit them and come around if they dont and they treat her bade then cut them out. u make ur own family once u leave nest but she dosent need that abuse stay away from that . Iknow that feeling I am going through same my dad just pretends and acts like nothing and doesn't care but my mom was mean to me then happy for me but got abused to me they both drug addicts alcoholics mental unstable. so I dont judge them but also I really dont care what they think cuase I got my life full love happiness great husband and who loves me and I love him. and they got divorced and all the family members who dont accept me well there loss I pray ppl that hate or mean to ppl for who they are.
if your family stops talking to you, or kicks you out or whatever bc of who you are then they arent your family. they may be related to you but they are not your family.
I understand so much the struggle of having “few people” that support me, but at the end it’s all about understanding. The support will come from your family, blood family or from the family you chose.

I went to a psychic fair on Sunday with my twin sister and it made me SO MUCH HAPPIER. I am so happy your immediate family totally supports your transitioning! All those other people - just total jerks. Interestingly, I am cisgender, hetero, and my family never validated any big decisions I have made!!!!!!! So kudos to your beautiful immediate family!

I'm glad to hear you're achieving your fitness goals. I find that cutting out sugar and running really helps. I struggle with physical disabilities and it been hard for me to get back into running after my assult which broke my knee and reinjured my low back. Physiotherapy has been helping but progress is slow. I do what i can. Yes, what are your tips?

Funny you should pop up as a friend and I are having an issue about acceptance with each other on a matter of importance. Her granddaughter Zoe decided to tell everyone that he is Transgender. Of course this has made the family choose sides. Why I'll never understand because all I want my children to be is content in their life, happy even. My friend says she won't have nothing to do with her/him. I told her to think about this as the years go by and you're not in their life and when your life is almost over you will regret it. She argues I should be on her side. To me it doesn't matter what you decide to do with your life as long as you're living your best life. I've told this to my children and their children. I could never turn someone I love away from me for who they are, who they love and it is their life not mine. I can only hope that in times of happiness or trouble they can come to me and not be afraid to tell me what is in their mind and heart. So to all those out there in the world who don't have this, I love you, and I want you to live your best life with pride in who you are. You matter to me and to those who love you now and in your future. I wish I can say this to everyone who ever doubts how important they are. Please never forget that you are.

I actually picked my juul back up because both of my parents juul and I was too tempted lol! but yeah I havent had any nicotine for like 6 months prior. The antidepressants im on are also used for a smoking aid, so that helps.

I didn't see my Grandpa for like 15 years because my brothers and I weren't Republican, Christian kids. My grandpa's wife (not my grandma) pointed out my one ear piercing and cautioned me that "people might think you're a lesbian!" Well...so what!?! They were so ignorant and they missed out on so much and it is their loss. My parents support me and my brothers even if we have different lifestyles than them.
