- The Complaints Choir invites people to complain as much as they want and to sing their complaints out loud together with fellow complainers. The first choir was organised in Birmingham followed by the Complaints Choir of Helsinki and Hamburg. The lyrics were written by the Choir, Music by Mike Hurley. I remember loving this video during youtube's early days. Before smartphones. Before Apps. Before takeout delivery bikes swarmed the streets. Before battery-powered unicycles. Before Britain went to pot.
2006... wow, this video is a real document of the prae-smartphone era.
i haven't listened to this in 15+ years yet i woke up today thinking of the chorus??
brilliant - favourite line (for pure randomness): "and I'm thirsty"
I like this a lot. It looks like they're having lots of fun.
A group of people working together is always beautiful....great vid guys!
Love the complaints Choir this and others rehearing in 2014
LOve this....a long-time favorite!

Well that about says it all! Thanks Birmingham for the best one ever!
that was a good message
good chorus and harmony
Completly agree - if one watches the clip they see that this is just something that grew out of a workshop. It's some peapole having fun.
I love this. :) Thank you for posting.
Very good video. Funny and creative. I love it!
genius. pure and simple, it is genius
Freaking awesome. Yes!
Iconic✨
Awesome idea to have such kind of choir!
Fabulous
That was great; Thank You!
Good stuff! What a way to get your anger out (peacefully). More people should try this. The kid screaming at the end was just too cute!
How funny! And I agree with most of the complaints lol. Great work guys!
Its not fair!!
Great stuff!
brilliant
hahahah i love the concept ! funny that you took the finnish term into a literal meaning. very fun to watch.
how cool!! this is genius!
i don't know what everyone is talking about I LOVED IT!!!
I grew up in Brum & lived there till I was 20. I go back about once a month for family & am always surprised how empty the place is, there's absolutely no reason to stay. I think I'd top myself if I had to move back.
Can't argue with that!
that was great
i really love this piece. on one hand very funny, entertaining and good music; on the other hand there are some true aspects they complain about ^^
I liked this pick for a featured video. GOOD JOB CZcams. You get my approval on this one, which I know you've been secretly dying for . . . wait, am I talking to a website?
they are all good, my fav is Helsinki Complaints Choir, (I live there) Well the world is the same all over I reckon
Hurrah! Best 8 minutes of my life!
And most of it's true.
Here here! This is the finest dance troupe I have seen since Chorus Line AND they sing to. Jolly good job lads. Could we have a shot of the jail in your next number?
They sound so good I forgot the song was about complaints.Maybe if we sang the problems out like this things wouldn't seem so bad.
So funny - Love it!!
This is a great video!!! Great idea to create a feeling of community!!!
Darn it! I want my money back! This song made me thirsty, but the beer is too expensive in town so now I can't get drunk enough to fully enjoy the song.
Lol, that kid at the end makes me laugh every time because of the way it cuts off in the middle of his scream.
reminds me of my dad!
i can't believe this is featured on the home page of youtube. i live in birmingham and i alsmost pissed myself watching this!
I'm thirsty too....
A spirited attempt at a great concept. Kudos guys.
I like this a lot :)
This sure is an nice idea. It's great that people can channel their fustration and complainments to song like this.
A "cul de sac" is a road (normally in the suburbs) which doesn't lead anywhere - no roads off it and no way out except back the way you came.
I LOVE this video!! :D its the best way to complain!!
This is lighthearted. Plus, they may be complaining about all this, but they're the ones singing and with smiles on their faces, whilst you're just angry on the internet.
I'm memorizing this chorus. "I want my money back, my jobs a cul de sac et al". Love it.
Nice idea!
Well, I didn't see the Helsinki one, but I enjoyed this one very much!
The articulation of the words is great! How many times can you really understand what a choir is singing? How can anybody complain about this? It was fun!
This is fantastic! They should do one in every town and show it between programs on BBC or something hehe
I'll join ya!
Psychology Today has an article that mentions this choir! Go to their website and look in a blog titled, The Squeaky Wheel for a story about complaints choirs
"Why does my computer has this shit on?
Why does the bus driver sings better than us?
We know why the beer so expensive in town"
I need my 8 minutes back...
Brilliant idea! It should be compulsory!
lol i love the kid at the end that screams at the camera, hillarious
Fabulous! Made this ex-pat Brummie homesick. You have to understand the gentle, wry Brummie sense of humour to get it... Studed with big chunks of Brum charm, and the ending is very cool.
The Watford Gap's in Northhamptonshire, according to Google Earth B'ham is 43 mile north of that.
Every town should have their own complaints choir! :oD
HAHA! About time someone did this!
Heheheh, I love it ^_^ well done!
The best... by far. Very authentic and un/semiprofessional, that's what I like about this one. Fresh!
so very emotional...i agree with every comment
The Helsinki one is still the best!
wow..thanks for making the lyrics bigger so i can read it
I related to that a lot.
Hi Birmingham singing people! I hope to visit Birmingham somteime and strongly hug each of you! Especially a man who's rapping :)Great song! TYVMuch :)
im not crying you are
they look like a very cheerful bunch of complainers that decided one drunken night that it would be funny to have a complaining choir.
Birmingham is GREAT! and it's inhabitants do have a sense of humour, this is a testament to it.
There's a dude here that's in the Helsinki one. He's got black hair, white shirt and a black suit. In the Helsinki vid. he declares that "The Finnish Language is bloody hard to learn!"
This is Brilliant! should be complaint of England eh? lol wink wink!
loved the rap part and that kid at the end LMAO!
WONDERFUL! This makes me feel ok about being mediocre.
I love that kid at the end xD
I like how many of the comments complain about this choir and this song!
I don't know why some are saying the Helsinki choir is so much better. The Birmingham piece is just a different style of performance. I like it.
Im from great barr, birmingham...:OD This is a nice tune, like the vid....and why is the beer soooo expensive in town! MORE MORE
LOL.
Finally, a choir singing a song I can relate to.
Besides the fact that they cannot escape their brit accent like most great singers... this is really good!
this song always gets stuck in my head! aahh!! but its soo funny
I thought this video was awesome. unique idea at the very least, and good voices. I'd go to these guys over a normal choir anyday.
That was incredible!!! I loved it!! :D
Excellent! :D
Best laugh of the night!
And great sining! :D
As for those who critise -
Whilst your sat on your arse, these people are going out and having fun, in addition to making a point to the society... so really, complain all you want, it's these great guys who are better off in the end!
Your regards
Andy :)
I like the dog poo line. It made me laugh.
so true
