    Okay my brothers and I watched cars all the time when we were little right? The dvd had several deleted scenes on it “Lost” being one of them and it really really scared me as a child. The unfinished/abandoned project vibe it had, McQueens screaming, the dark plot, the scary visuals, not to mention the fact that it was an unfinished scene made some of what was happening unclear which kind of scared me more. It was just so scarring to me and it still creeps me out a little now. (Ty CZcams comments for allowing me to vent my cultural childhood trauma 🙏🏻)

It would be even more horrific, the deleted scene was released in 2002, if the movie was released in 2004 or 2005, the probably would have had this scene and we would all be traumatized

      @theheadhunter2427 Před 3 lety +67

    • @DJB3lfry
      @DJB3lfry Před 3 lety +68

      Well, considering that McQueen ended up driving off the road accidentally and crashing into that area, I'd say it's likely that they're the corpses of cars that got lost in that area and ran off the road in the same way he did.
      Either that, or the cars universe has messed up burial practices.

    Besides just how genuinely creepy this scene is, it's also one of those things that raises many concerning questions about the cars universe. Since cars are machines with replaceable parts, what would it take to "kill" a car in this world? How much of a car can be removed/destroyed before death? And how are these living cars brought into this world anyhow? I'd like to think that they're just built in a factory like real cars, but the other films in this franchise directly state that at least some cars have parents, which has implications even more terrifying than this deleted scene. I know I'm looking way too much into this, but it's hard not to.

    • @alexmadness19
      @alexmadness19 Před rokem +10

      since the windshield are portrayed as eyes, the way for them to actually “die” is by having their eyes/windshield smashed, the reason i think this is if you look closely, all of the car’s windows are broken.

    • @twistedyogert
      @twistedyogert Před rokem +6

      @@Insertsomethingcoolhereiguess With current technology it's incredibly difficult to make CG people look realistic. The human brain is very good at discerning patterns and this causes most people to be disturbed by the appearance of a CG human since instinctively they know that something is a little off.
      This effect is usually absent when animals or machines are given human characteristics although not always. Jay Jay the jet plane is a good example of sentient vehicles done wrong.
      Pixar manages to scoot around this by making their human characters more cartoony.

    When you think about how this could’ve been like after this scene. It’s pretty traumatic. McQueen could’ve reported to the police and maybe scarred for life. It’d be on the news and families of cars would finally have found their loved ones bodies. Also it raises more questions on how we’re there so many bodies? None of them were buried so it must’ve been instant. Did they seen each other die in front of their eyes? And how old were those bodies? Looks like 1950s or 60s

    I’ll be honest, even as a kid, I understand how dark and scary this scene was. I’m so thankful it was never added into the final cut of the movie. That being said, there are some elements from it that did make it in such as Lightning McQueen going down a hill way too fast and getting tangled up in a fence wire. Not to mention that the scream the dead car makes that Lightning is caught with is actually used in the final cut as well. I’m honestly still surprised the graveyard itself was later used in the Cars Toon episode _The Radiator Springs 500 1/2_ . In my opinion, at least it wasn’t that scary when it was used that episode compared to this.

    This was supposed to be a graveyard for cars but that still doesn't explain how some of the cars are hanging of a tree. Maybe there was more lore to this but it was never finished or it was never told to the public. Also how would he end up in Radiator Springs if this was kept? I mean, this scene obviously evolved into a police chase scene in the final movie but how would he end up there and what problem would've he caused for him to be forced to stay in Radiator Springs? Speed limit? Loud yelling? Crash with some of the residents there? I am sure that there exist another scene explaining this shortly after this one but was never released to the public.
