Back on an old job cleaning up with the Baumalight brush cutter

I’ve found that it helps if you do a “hungry hippo” type motion on the bigger stuff so it doesn’t fall at an awkward angle. Just raise the front of the cutter a few feet up when approaching the big stuff then lower it to normal height and back drag a few feet.
Great video coverage of the BaumaLight in action. These kind of tools sure make vintage sickle cutters and horse driven equipment prehistoric to the todays industrial machines. Equipment that turns 3-4 day back breaking work into 3-4 hour jobs in time to enjoy family gatherings says it all. These videos are golden and serve as reminders to where we have come in such a short time.
Don't forget to check the blades when you've finished a job. Check them for being bent and blunt. Straighten and sharpen where necessary, grease where applicable, then it's ready for the next job.
Never sharpen blades on a brush cutter just fyi
Goodmorning & Afternoon All
Good morning all from Siesta Key Florida
Great clearing job with the taco seems to work very well with the brush cutter great video thanks Mike and Matt
big difference with a high-flow machine, I'll bet it was twice as fast mulching this field as the Kubota would do it. Looks good Mike.
I thought it was a standard flow machine…
It is this is not a high flow machine
If the Bauma lite cuts like that, I cant imagine how Bauma heavy would cut. Very relaxing video this morning, thanks guys!
Morning all and happy holidays
Both the machine and brush cutter did great. Made the property look much better.
Good angle shots on this one. Thanks DP
I was having flashbacks to being under the mower on the 120 when you were mowing the hillsides at your house and lost the gopro. Then boom, we fell again
Lol yup
that combo works realy good by the looks of it. 👍
Impressive combo. The Taco was kickin ass and taking names! Another very smart investment....
Got it back working. Thanks
Great Saturday morning entertainment! What was Mr. Millennial doing while you were slaving away! LOL
Nice to have that extra flow to power through. Nice clean up!!👍🇺🇸
That must be one beautiful weed garden in the early summer. Re-seeding it every fall right into the mulch.
loved the Taco brush cutting set up and the tree dozer work at the end. thank you for the Video Mike
Blessings to all! Nice video!
That Taco handled it like a champ! 👍 I didn’t hear you have to stop and let it spin back up once. Great job!!
None of us thought you would leave the tree there, we all knew you had to try something. lol Keep smilin Mike
Dad used to say “right tool - right job”. Looked about right
@@Manoffire260 Dad would get mad at us kids and say (that's not a bleepin hammer) I'd sure like to hear him say that again.
Awesome setup. That brushcutter on the TL240is a great combination Mike.
Quick little job, looks a lot better
Doing a fantastic job. Awesome work Mike.
Had the same problem with the TL6 Tak left the front of the brush mower up so I could get out.Left it overnight cause call but I was able to open the door. “ And I’m big like DP not small like Matt. Great job on all your videos guys appreciate them. And I gotta say I wished I had a helper like Matt. Although I wouldn’t call him a helper.
DP. That thing is a monster on the taco.
Happy Holiday and God Bless you all
Nice job. I even think Upstate Brush would be impressed.
Thanks
Holy Crap Mike! at 22:30 I thought you killed all your people and the GoPro was finished, you saved us all with your Operator Skills.......lol. The Taco worked out just fine with the BrushCutter. I love your videos, Keep up the good work Sir.
Wow!
That is one heck of a brush-cutter!!!
Can't imagine the new version being even more stout.
The Taco certainly has a strong hydraulic pump for sure.
Very impressed!🤙
That brush cutter on that machine makes a great combo. Job looks real nice now. I only have one suggestion for Matt, "when you are helping load equipment onto a trailer in reverse, stand in front so the person can see you and your signals", 😆
That appeared to work very well nice job. Stay safe
Nice job Mike Matt have a nice day great videos, great job
Two years already???? 😲
240 made light work of the mower, proving to be a really useful purchase for you !!
That was fast cutting. I had a similar field decades ago. I kept it maintained with 2 goats. They kept it looking good. The video was entertaining thank you for all of your videos.
No Evel Knievel reenactment just dang. That brush cutter is nice.
Now this would be a good thing to test out on the Minotaur.
Have plans for that
I got a lot of bumps and bruises from the camera crash! lol Happy Thanksgiving to the DP family and friends!
Haha that's where all those unexplained bruises came from. My son asked me yesterday where they come from and I couldn't explain how. Now I know it's DP's fault he let us fall on the ground and flop around.
lol! 🤕
A little seat time behind it makes a big difference. I think my homeboy R2 needs one of these. 👍 I could smell that sassafras tree when it fell on the cab.
Good to see you Mike
Looks like it did a good job. I would be sneezing for days If I had to cut that with an open station tractor. This place looked familiar, I thought the Captain planted grass there.
I work for andersen corp in bayport Minnesota, thanks for the advertising
Nice
Another good video, I didn't think you would leave that tree laying. Lol
Those extreme mowers are awesome! I use mine with my Kubota SVL75 and it is absolutely imperative sometimes, clearing paths and other places I can't get my 100HP cab tractor.
Nice job on selling me again on never buying another tractor or piece of equipment without a cab. Watching you cut those blooming weeds was making me start to sneeze.
I love those kinds of friends that say things… and in your head you think “why did he say that?”. 😂 Getting secondhand embarrassment from a friend that talks too much is an essential part of life.
I am glad you finally got you a Taco l have one TL 150 and brush cutter l love it. I can put on my head set radio and I can cut all day. Taco are the best machines they are. Have a blessed day.
That looks like something a James Bond villain would use!
The ole Taco is proving itself like Bubba and the 210! Great video!
Your cutter works very well Mike, good job
Enjoyed the video and the combo did a great job, amazed that the field grew up that much in just one year.
In the tropics thats one month with moderate rain.
Ooo 😱 that limb was close.
You were talking about lowering your ears, over here in Aus a 61 y/o woman fell off her tractor the other day whilst slashing and nearly lost both legs and an arm,she survived and was able to call EMS by reaching her mobile on the tractor. Her condition is unknown at present, but very lucky to survive.
Hi Mike.
It not only does a nice job, but it looks like fun to run.
Ed from Chicago 🙂
Amazing camera views Mike, you sure put those cameras through the works brother! But those views are awesome and it looks like you’re enjoying the “Taco’ brother, another amazing job Mike and I’m glad you like the Takeuchi! Seams like everyone is getting one! Thanks for sharing Mike, always in my prayers! Stay safe and healthy this winter! Kirk from Louisiana! 🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks
Over the winter put sound deadening in the cab , and they even make high heat type for engine compartment
Great video Mike. The taco handled it well. See y’all on the next one
The last 9ne I saw mow it was the capt.!!!!!
For something that is quite small, your scid steer certainly packs a punch, it really handled that brush cutter well.
It is noisy in that cab, is there any aftermarket sound proofing that would help? I know it's difficult as you are basically sat in the engine but there must be something, if not it will have to be ear plugs, ear defenders or make Matt use it all of the time. 🤗
That is a beast, did a great job 👍
I was very surprised
Hydraulic driven brush cutters are excellent in our part of the Texas panhandle, eradicating yucca, mesquite and salt cedar.
Thanks Mike ,trimmer combo dis a great job…
Mike; stick the camera on top of the cab! Best shot ! Things a BEAST !
I don't think my 2018 Takeuchi TL10v2 is near as loud and I can hear the radio just fine. I love mine and is such a beast in all I put it through. :)
I put some sound suppression in a old truck I had that was loud its easy to put in its got glue on the back and just peel it off it helped alot.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
That did an awesome job!!!
Thanks
have you tried laying some rubber matting behind beside and under the seat? you could just lay them in place initially then maybe mount with velcro so they are easy to remove for service. you might also want to wrap the exhaust with glass fibre wrap.
Heck i was thinking id fell into the bushes for a minit good job dp
Awesome bush hog, and love the way it handles...Thanks for the video!.
Thanks for watching
That brush cutter does a really awesome job that is so cool now you need to invest in a different type of mower it's called munchy and it works off of a boom that way you can get down into the edge of a drop
When that tree fell on part of your cab and you got out and pulled it off, if you were on the tractor you could have had a catastrophic ending .
Was hoping you might whittle some on that tree top. Getting fairly impressed by those Tacos, especially by that door. After running an open cab Bobcat and tree shear all day, there was so much stuff in the cab. Then there are the yellowjackets....
Brushing hog wild looks like a bit of fun for about 30 min. then it's just work ! Need a kick ass stereo in the skid steer !! 🤔😃👍👍👍
Looks like the new to you Taco was a good buy. The ones in our area are beat to pieces and wore out by 1500 hrs. Like the roll up door too vs the swing door on other brands. Was wondering how long it would take for you to close the door when cutting lol 👍🏼
Captain Burn 😮
Hey DP!! Don't know why but I always laugh when you say The Taco. It really did an excellent job with the brush cutter. Don't think I heard it struggle once. Glad The Taco is working out for you.
Seems like it could use some adjustable skids on the outside front corners to prevent gouging into the ground?
Very nice setup indeed, it does a beautiful job. I guess the operator isn't too shabby either lol. Something super satisfying about brushogging whether with skidsteer tractor or walk behind. Not to mention the smell of it. As always keep up the great work 😁 👍
Time for another trailer😳😂
Hello 🙋♂️from the Netherlands 🇳🇱.
thanks for the video DP .
Sincerely, Hollandduck 🇳🇱🦆
A great bush cutter
LOOKIN' GOOD, NICE WORK, KEEP SAFE..
Excellent job looks like a good 👍 job
Super video with great camera angles!
Mike great video! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Thanks for watching
PHENOMENAL FANTASTIC JOB WELL DONE
DP on our taco we have the hydro cooler on top. But you don’t do brush 100 % of the time as we do. Just a thought if you do more with it. I will resend a text pic of it. The taco high flow hydraulic system is awesome.
Some brush cutters have wheels in the front to stop from hitting the dirt and I saw another one that looked like the guy welted two post on the front that had snow ski type of feet attached so that they would slide on the dirt. Both styles give consistent cutting height.
They are called scalp wheels
That is one awesome beast like that tiesmanian devil you said something about your hydraulics about you can't hear it is there a switch that you can buy to regulate like a rev limiter the light comes on when the rev limiter hits the high RPM but for your case you need one that shows when it's limitations are running slow so you can see it by your peripherals of your eyes without your distractions a sensor in mind with your hydraulic pressures just food for thought you're doing a fine job take care brother from another mother
Looks like it went smooth DP! Great vid
always be sure when you are hauling your skid steer be sure to close the front window i have seen many broke when they slam down from hauling them
I a have seen more broken the other way thanks
Nice machine does a great job ! Nice transformation on that site :)
Good job😍
nice deer stand
Great set up DP. That combo seems to work very well. On video it seems that a lot of your cab noise is coming from the engine compartment. Could you put some Dynomat or something in the back of the cab to help reduce the noise? Just a thought! Great video as always.
Thanks
Recommend you keep your door closed and wear safety glasses when cutting brush. Not a big deal until a piece of tree enters the cab. I have had a few pieces hit my window. You wouldn’t think it would be possible basically sitting on the ground with the front end slightly higher than the back, but it slings things everywhere, even with a light duty cutter like yours. I had fun with mine today, except when I sucked up about 10 feet of barbed wire. Spent about 30 minutes removing it.
D.P. look into the sound deadening materials the street rodders use in their cars and trucks . Do the floor , underside of the roof , down the sides and back wall of the cab , with the added benefit of having the experience and knowledge of how to do the same to Lt. Dan . Btw it will also halp with the air conditioning .
Great job. Looked like the Taco handled it very well. I'm curious if the homeowner was able to mow what you went over and make it normal grass land.
Don’t want it to be normal grass
