  • We bought our Winnebago Solis 59 PX in November of 2021. After taking "Toaster" on a few trips, we are ready to show her off!
    After a lot of research we chose the Solis 59PX because it checked all the boxes for us. We both wanted a bathroom and gear garage to store our bikes.

    Love that microwave stand mod! Something like this should really be standard equipment from WGO.

    Thanks for this video! Our favorite part was your ladder storage tip. We have a Solis too (June 2021) and travel with our two teens who sleep up top. At first, we would take our ladder apart and stored it under the bed while traveling, but on our last trip we kept the ladder together and stored it up top on the mattress and the pop-up still closed easily. I think we will now be strapping it in like you guys! I love seeing the way people use their Solis campers! There are not a lot of folks with them on CZcams. :-D

    Enjoyed the walk through. We just installed the pull out drawer in the back and was not too terrible to do. I am excited to try it out on our next trip, hopefully it does not fall out ;) Safe Travels!

    Love the microwave addition. Beautifully done. Do you travel with it up there? Or, carry it in the garage area (other?) & put it up once you park. Thanks for the great overview & ideas. 😊

    Do you ever wish it came with an awning? How's the gas mileage? Does it have a generator? Can you use the air conditioner with just the house batteries/inverter?

    • @iTravelwithlaura
      @iTravelwithlaura  Před 2 lety +1

      Great questions! Don't miss an awning because we park where we can have shade abs have heard many fly away.
      Gas mileage...my hubs would know. 16mpg? It does have a generator that we use to run ac and are grateful for. We also use it if we need to run the microwave we bought for it. Have to use generator for ac. We don't use ac often but are sure glad when we do have it.

    Excellent real world review. I love these vans. Thinking about getting one and making it my daily driver. They are a little spendy brand new. $117,000 for 2023. How often do you use the overhead camper? Do you store the van outside all year? What is your fuel economy?

    You added a microwave but mentioned you barely use it. Do you regret adding it? I really want to add one when I get my Solis, but I'm not sure what the downsides of that might be. Also, how long does the propane tank last? I know it's a full service propane hook up...Is that ever an issue?? Oh and I noticed the little metal piece where the Murphy bed table could sit....I'm guessing you add that as well? I want to do the same thing. I appreciate your feedback :)

    • @iTravelwithlaura
      @iTravelwithlaura  Před rokem

      We don't regret it at all but still don't use it much...mostly because we do a lot of stealth camping and boondocking and don't want to use the generator. Although it is a very quiet generator!!

    Thank you for the great video, question for you guys, the sink is right next to the bed, how do you do dishes without getting your bedding soaking wet?

    • @iTravelwithlaura
      @iTravelwithlaura  Před 2 lety

      Great question! Abs that is on our list of mods, but until then, I take either my cutting board or the othe cutting board I stow under the bed and place it in the space to keep things dry. In a pinch, a towel works. And honestly it's only an issue when doing dishes (which happens maybe once a day) so unless I'm super messy it's not a problem!

      @@iTravelwithlaura Thank You! I am leaning towards a 59px, however, have decided to wait until they replace the generator with lithionics, like Travato, fingers 🤞

    What type of connector does the solar port in the back (above the water panel) take?

    • @iTravelwithlaura
      @iTravelwithlaura  Před 2 lety

      We think it's just a standard connector as in you could buy any additional panel and we think it would work or you could buy an adaptor. We haven't needed any additional power.

    • @IMP3TIGO
      @IMP3TIGO Před 2 lety

      @@iTravelwithlaura Thank you! I saw a video where they show the connector and it appears to be a SAE connector, which as you say is a standard solar connector. Hope it works!

    • @iTravelwithlaura
      @iTravelwithlaura  Před 2 lety +1

      That is such a great question and a tough one! We HAVE used it and it has allowed us to work when signal was weak. But, it doesn't help if there is nothing around. I know a lot of people use WeBoost but always remember you have to have SOME signal to work with.

  • @jewlzcanon

    Hi, where does your microwave plug into and do you need to run the genarator to use it? also, what did you use to mount the table outside?

    • @iTravelwithlaura
      @iTravelwithlaura  Před 2 lety

      We had to get an extension cord to use. Just plugs into the side above the fridge. The table is the one that is typically in the back but we keep our bed down all of the time. Somehow Jay managed to hook it there when we stop for long enough. We store it behind the 2 jumpseats:)

      @@iTravelwithlaura thanks, what did you use to attach the table to the outside?

    • @iTravelwithlaura
      @iTravelwithlaura  Před 2 lety +1

      @@jewlzcanon had to ask Jay:) He says he thinks it's a z hangar bracket he got on Amazon. You mount one side to the van and one to the bottom of the table and it slides in. Might also be a called a French clip.
