- I finally bought a new jack as the old one was showing its age and wasn't performing as it should. I picked up some birthday vouchers from last year and used them to help pay for this new trolley jack.
I decided to do a review while I was waiting for the arrival of new parts for the Focus.

Thanks for the video, it's answered a question I had regarding whether the rubber pad is removable, which I can now see it is, thanks.
Nice job, the jack seems like a good solid piece of kit.
Excellent review. I’ve been looking for a trolley jack, I’ll be buying one of these.
Thank you very much. I still have it and been hard at work.
Picked mine up tonight, heavy and solid bit of kit! Thanks for the unboxing and review
Thanks, glad it was useful.
I just came across this video a couple of days after changing from and to the exact same trolley jacks
I still got the old one that I use as backup.
The new one is excellent and has been very good for the last 2 years
@@GentilsGarage I'm keeping the old one too. To replace my old backup. Just needs bleeding and some fresh oil
Thank you for this. I've been considering buying one of these and having seen this I think I will. Thanks for the review - very thorough and informative! : )
Thank you for showing us I been looking for a really good jack and after seeing you demonstrate it I'm going to buy one today thanks again
Your welcome, glad it helped. I’ve been using it on all my jobs and it has been really good
Your welcome, glad it helped. I’ve been using it on all my jobs and it has been really good
How much does it weigh? Also can you measure the length of it please
Not sure much much it weighs, but it’s way over 20kg. The trolley is in storage so I don’t have access to it at the moment. I think it’s less than 60cm in lenght
Hi just got one. Just wondering why once I’ve twisted the handle counter clockwise to release the pressure it goes down really slowly. Other jacks I’ve used before go down at a normal pace. Does this mean anything. Haven’t used it in my car yet if that makes a difference
Maybe because it needs more use or something like that. Mine goes down pretty swiftly
@@GentilsGarage my thought exactly. Maybe just needs some use. Just weird tho cos all the unboxing vids show it going down at a normal pace. Right out the box
@@TherealSoldier_boy should be ok after
Please could you explain where exactly the trolley jack should be positioned? Maybe another video would be useful?
Is the the Focus we are taking about? In the video I put it under the subframe to demonstrate how far it could go. Other wise, I se the normal jacking points you would use when jacking up the car with the car jack.
Is it any good in tight spaces ? Can the handle be pumped from 90 degrees and be effective , eg against a garage wall
I’ve used in tight spaces between cars. I lift the pad using the pedal and then pump with the handle. Not from 90° but very close
On yours does the black arm each side of the piece that goes up when pumped move in and out when moved by hand, there's a little black clip on the end of each piece? 🤔
Yes, it does move
hello, which country is this? the one youre showing is currently being sold in uk as a 3t jack, the same picture on the box and the box weight about 37kilos. slighty different all black box. costs 160 pounds.
It’s in the UK. There are two versions on sale at the moment (2T and 3T) and the 2T which is the same I’m testing costs £130. Have a look again at the halfords website.
@@GentilsGarage thanks, at those prices and the design is probably better to get the 3t
@@toono21 yes, that’s true. I bought this Jack 3 years ago and the price difference was bigger. At today’s prices, the 3T is better value for money now
Awesome must buy one 👍🏼
Hi, what are the dimensions and weight of it? I can't tell from the video. I have a cheap small orange jack from halfords that needs replaced, however I'll need to store it at home and have limited space so I don't want to bother with a big heavy trolley jack 🤔 thanks
Hi, don’t know the exact weight of it, but it’s a bit heavy to be carried by one person alone. Halfords has a Aliminium version of this one that is much lighter, but more expensive. The length is around 60-70cm and iaround 15-20 cm wide. These are just estimate figures from the top of my head
@@GentilsGarage right I have just seen it on their website, I'll need to check for myself in store 😅 it don't mind it slightly bigger, but I stay in a flat so can't be too heavy. Thank you very much for your review and advice!
@@martinatrybusiewicz2405 you’re welcome.
Does the upper handle pull off on yours? If i try to drag mine, the handle just comes straight off.
No, mine stays on. Is everything screwed in?
@@GentilsGarage Yup. The section that the triangle handle screws to, that swivels, just pulls straight out the middle section. Any idea what exactly holds that swivel section in on yours? Thanka for the reply!
@@larry365 very strange. I need to have a look, but I can’t access the jack at the moment, but I’ll let you know
@@GentilsGarage I appreciate that! I'm probably going to put a bolt through it anyway as I don't like it swiveling but just wondering if mine is defective. Thanks
How's is it holding up after 2 years Gentil?
Still Working great!
Hey mate, was wondering if your still using this jack and how it’s performing a year later?
Still got it and it’s faultless. I have been using it on all my jobs in my repair videos, plus a few more I haven’t filmed.
@@GentilsGarage great thank you!
