    Thank you so much for this!! Is it expected to sing Mein lieber Schwan right after In fernem Land as one large aria? I’m hopefully coming to Europe next year and wanted to know if this is what to expect when auditioning for this role. Thanks!!

    Aparte de tocar excelente el piano, con todo tesoro está muy guapa la maestra

    Great... this piece needs to be directed from the pianist whenever possible. Also by head. When you sing in full voice it would be huge help for the singer to see movements by directeur. Normaly pianist is following the singer. But in this case surely is not possible... thanks a lot for your videos and best wishes...

    Dramatic point in the piece, and the page flip accordingly also seems almost dramatic :) Btw what I wonder about classical musicians using sheet music during playing: How much of it is actually reding everything and playing it, vs. just an orientaton to not forget where you are (i.e. the playing mostly coming from practised memory)?

      Yes, I almost know it by memory, but not always of course... it depends. It's just years of training of looking and almost not looking in the scores.... sometimes I feel like I have 4 eyes :-))))

    Magnificent interpretation, that is a great help to study, although " i tempi" is always debatable . I find Mein Lieber Schwan a little slow 4' 55" when most tenors sing in between 4' 10" and 4' 38" perhaps your "tempo" is slow to facilitate the study.

    Does anyone have tips how to practise *keeping time* esp. in parts where instruments are silent, like here in the beginning? I'm horrible at that, and i's almost guaranteed that when the piano plays again, I ended up at the wrong line because my tempo was so off. Listened & played too much drum beat driven music ;)

    • @pocketpianist4556
      @pocketpianist4556  Před 3 lety +2

      Yeah, it's a challenge... try to follow the speaking text, to articulate more, and to find the logic in the rhytm of the componist and to connect it with your heartbeat...

      @@josephespratt A tastefully played accompaniment does not have a constant BPM, it's flowing. I can keep time to a steady beat (especially if I can hear an actual beat ;) )... that's not the problem.

      @@josephespratt Dude! You have a damn nice voice! What teaching "school" do you follow, if any that has a label?
