This is where beauty standards go --> 🚽
200th like
Exactly 💯 ,like y cant we just appreciate the face we have .
made the likes go from 289 to 290 ur welcome
Along with the money spent 😅
👏
nice video! my concern is that beauty standards, especially in Korea, are about things that no one has control over unless they surgically alter it. How is one supposed to change their height with no repercussions 😭
You’re right!! I think people should be more appreciative of diverse traits
Ummm…why on earth would you automatically assume you need these features though? Beauty standards exist to simply say what looks good to a majority of people…it doesn’t mean you must all go out and obtain these features 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ that is the difference between secure, confident folks who simply look at it as beautiful features being appreciated regardless if they themselves have them and those people who immediately make comparisons to themselves, try to change their features, and subsequently deem these standards as “toxic” when in reality…no, YOU are toxic for doing this to yourself. The existence of beauty standards aren’t toxic in and of themselves- it folks like the ones I described who make it toxic.
@@krisuler7734 Cause beauty standards in Korea are taken to the extreme. You could be bullied and even be denied service or a job for being "too ugly" or "too fat" even though you really are just average. Like parents there literally have a plastic surgery fund saved up when their kids were young for the surgery when they grow up. This is so that they could function and not be looked down upon in society. Some even give plastic surgery as a gift for their birthdays. You literally NEED those features. It's their culture, which I find super toxic and sad.
@@ebc6970wow I’m korean living in Korea right now, and I’ve heard of none of that you wrote on your comment😂
Maybe you’ve learnt Korea only through kdrama or social media which shows extreme examples.
WE are normal people like everybody on globe, sis😂
Well I mean there’s multiple beauty standards that are naturally out of people’s control, no one’s saying you absolutely need to fit these standards. Most people would tell you to not care too much.
i hate KBS. i’ve been doing male modeling in seoul since i was around 15 years old and over the years, i’m becoming exhausted with trying to maintain my looks and fit into our beauty standard. for example, for me, the biggest change i’ve noticed was the nose one. i used to be praised for having a slightly large nose and it was one of the reasons why i had agencies like my look but now i keep having co workers and superiors suggest i get a rhinoplasty (which i’m not going to do). however, i’m really happy that those with small rounded noses are being accepted. i only wish that there could be a wider range of different types of noses and other features to be accepted too. i’ve yet to have any single plastic surgery done and i refuse to change anything physically just to keep up with beauty trends that i know will change in the future.
Yeah f the Korean entertainment industry, seriously. Don’t let those pricks get to you and keep your head held high. It’s awful that people actually tell you that kind of garbage because so many celebrities I’ve seen who are part of Hallyu don’t fit into the standards at all.
I think in a few years you will be able to see more variety in beauty standards because of the latest shifts in general. Everyone is moving from being conservative and narrow minded to “freedom” concept in everything. Stay true to yourself no matter what ❤️.
@@phantazm2012 I hope so. I really think my country is becoming more open minded about different types of beauty, but it will take a long time for it to actually start begin to make actually changes. I hope we continue this path of acceptance for other features. 💗
Yes, this makes me so sad! I noticed almost all male celebrities and influencers have that surgery and I think it looks terrible! Rhinoplasty is so noticeable with men, especially when they make it smaller and the small nose just doesn’t fit the rest of the face. Their natural nose looked way better and suits the face perfectly
@@BreakofDawn Yes, it's a really popular surgery lately. A friend of mine who also does modelling recently got one. I'll never get the surgery TBH. If my nose was small, I would look crazy...If the guy has a more feminine face then he could possibly pull it off, but for most of us guys the Rhinoplasty is so so noticeable and strange looking. I'm sad that they think it looks better than their original. I'm not against plastic surgery, I just wish people wouldn't get it for the sake of fitting in.
I think all that this shows is that there are SO many different ways of being pretty. But it's like Korea discovers one particular way of being beautiful because a specific celebrity popularized it, and then they look at anything else like it's ugly. Every place around the world has beauty trends but I find that East Asia goes hard with liking very speciric features and dismissing everything else.
I agree it’s very homogeneous!😖
Oh stfuuuuuu…the West is exactly the same- EVERYONE in the 90s tried to look like the supermodels of the day from Crawford to Moss…then in the 00s everyone looked like Spears and Hilton…now everybody is obsessed with lip fillers and butt implants. These features are deemed desirable in Hollywood so now all the sheep run out to look like twins of each other. I am SO sick of these absurd double-standards where you xenophobes deem something that happens in equal amounts in BOTH Skorea and the US as being somehow oh soooo much worse in SKorea. Why not take a moment to truly look within yourself and consider WHY you think this way- it’s xenophobia, period. You’re incapable of accepting a different culture with different standards even if their outcomes are the same exact as your own (i.e. the beauty standards are different but their existence and result ARE NOT). Please do better. As for the video creator…really? YOU ARE KOREAN ..have some respect for your people. You seem very sweet but you need to stop allowing these people to speak down on your CULTURE and you should defend Korea….not to mentiom your entire channel is based on Korean culture. So tired of this blatant, accepted xenophobia toward Eastern Asia.
Omg there’s always trend in every country. There were vanilla girl makeup, kim kardashian makeup trended in the US and many girls followed that trend looking “same”.😅 Don’t judge Korean girls and Korean culture like that. That’s really rude.
Also, in East Asia there’s not much race variety that’s why people from other culture think we have particular way of being beautiful, but actually that’s not true. 😢
@@user-ut2xf8sv4m One thing is a trend the other thing is to give people a hard time because they don't follow that trend. You clearly didn't read the comment properly
I‘m a 157cm (about 5,2 feet) Asian girl living in Germany. I was always the smallest in class up until fifth grade and now that I‘m an adult…I feel even shorter then I did back then. 🥲
But when I went to China for the first time to visit my aunt I felt like a literal GIANT!!! At one point I even started hunching a little because I felt like I was towering over people too much which made me stand out way more than I was comfortable with. 😂🤦🏻♀️
I’m 155cm and I’m a German girl and I was always the smallest in the class and everyone say your to short and became hard depression because I haven’t one how say it is to be okay short.
@@mia-sophie7852
Entschuldigung, wie bitte?
Du warst die Kleinste in der Klasse und hattest Depressionen deswegen und weiter?😅
@@mia-sophie7852bro tf, I’m
@@mia-sophie7852I'm 170cm and a German girl, and I've always been the tallest one in class and have depression too. Guess nothing's okay.
I am a 168cm german girl and felt rather small in class. The kids nowadays get TALL😭
She’s so pretty and she kinda reminds me of Kazuha and Bae Suzy
And chuu🥰
@@Gyutiful0 yeah kinda☺️
I can see Naeun from April
@@Gyutiful0yeah more like Chuu
I thought about Suzy too
I noticed height became a craze in Korea too. All my local Korean guy friends think 5’ 6 (168 cm) is the perfect height for girls, which is kinda tall for Asian women living in Asia. In my graduating class, there were only 3 girls (out of 20 something) who were above 5’ 6 and they literally towered over other girls and some guys. One was 175 and she was considered too tall.
As a SEA 5'6 is very tall for girls here. I am just 5 but yeah I am considered just on the border of being called short😂
I’m 5’ 6 and in seventh grade 😭😭 everyone says I’m too tall, so I wanna be short sooo bad
@Yuki_tora183 youll grow into it😊. I was always kind of taller than my friends in primary school but once i was in highschool towards finishing, my height was pretty standard because i met more people and also some people only grow taller towards the end of puberty so short people might end up being taller after a while
That's even taller then average American woman. These guys are delulu lol
@@EXOistheStandardmy fellow 5ft bestie 😊
It’s always a changing thing so it doesn’t make sense to follow it. I think the best thing is to stick to what makes you feel beautiful.
I also wanted to mention that ur rlly pretty
I agree! People always prefer different things. As long as we’re happy with our own looks, we should be good🌟 thank you💕
Like one direction once’s sang a long long long time ago……..U don‘t kno oh oh ow u don‘t know u beautyfull
Crying being 156cm tall 😢😭
It’s okay!! I’m around your height🧚 we are little fairies💕
@@krystallee ♥️
Are you korean who lives in korea? Bc if you don't all of these standards doesn't apply for you
@@primadonnagirl8283 I'm not, idk if you're being rude or not but I'm not being serious.btw being short isn't seen to be a amazing feature in any country
Samee
I always find fascinating what is considered tall around the world- I live in one of the tallest populations in the world and the average height is 168cm for women and 181cm for men
Wow that’s so interesting!!
Same in my country, that’s why I feel really small with only 162 cm . 😅
Yep, same. I'm 173-173.5 cm (woman) and don't really stand out height wise.
Same I’m 170cm and I would consider this the average height for women in my country. So seeing people say 165cm is considered tall is wild to me but it also makes sense 🤣
Yeah I remember when Wonyoung started getting fillers (many years ago) and I wanted to do them too. I bet in a couple of years almost every idol will have lip fillers.
Just like almost every idol had something done
All women are amazing to me
I appreciate your being honest about trending beauty standards-but I wish people in the comments section were more confident about their looks and didn’t feel like they have to adhere to standards there. Hope Korea can become more free thinking in the future :-)
girl drop the makeup tutorial
Im 170cm. Im basically a supermodel 😂😂🎉
Im 175, im.basically a man 😂
I’m 5’11 / ~180cm so I’ve deffo got the height but I don’t fit any of the other standards lmao
I be 175 lmao
my friend is 172 cm as a 11 yr old
@@studywithkpop I was 174 when I was 10 years old. I grew 3 cm over the next 2-ish years. Now I'm 23 and still 177 haha
I fit like all of these but my completion is kinda tan and I don’t think they find that attractive lmao. I’m happy with the way I am tho, it’s cool to see beauty standards from other places
I think it’s all about the harmony!✨
Koreans looove tanned skin. It was a trend in the past days and now also!! So many people go to tan their skin in korea.
No, I don't want to fit in any of the beauty standards, I am beautiful in my own self, god had made his own beauty standard in me and all people, every one is unique in their own way, we have to appreciate that, don't follow crazy crowd make them follow you.
Don’t judge yourselves if you’re fit in this standard or not😅 It is about “Korean” beauty standard who has Korean face and body and not every Korean thinks this as a standard.
I fit all the ones you said except for the last one❤❤❤❤
Ngl 165cm in my country is considered small lol 😂 my height is 176.7cm so i am a giant?lol and nose is medium not that small and also i have plump lips lol 😂
Koreans (and Asians in general) are naturally short, especially women. 165 where I live is really short too but you'll rarely find female idols over 170. So yes, if you were a Korean girl, you would be a giant xD
@@MeD-ex8mzKoreans avg height is the same as America.
@@Djainwiqjzncdek Yes, but I don't live in America. I live in Australia, and a lot of girls and women I know consider people 170 short, despite the average also being only slightly higher than Korea and the US. It's a weird thing and in general averages aren't super accurate and reflective of a country's general height considering they probably include outliers.
Crying as an adult in 1.57cm😭😭😭😭🤣
@@Djainwiqjzncdekwhich is below 165cm.
Claiming pile 1's energy 🙌🙌🙌
I agree with the gradient lips going out of fashion, I never understood it tbh
For my fellow Americans 165cm = ~ 5’4 😂
It's actually 5.5
"Do you fit Korean beauty standards?" I do not. And I like it that way :)
Well… I’m tall. 😂
FYI the height of 165cm is only 5’5” which is average for women of European descent, but it’s quite unfair in East Asia where people are much smaller. When I worked in SK for Samsung I was taller than a lot of the men, although in the corp world it was common for them to wear shoes that made them a bit taller
Now I understand why Mamamoo said that they weren't very tall. They are all gorgeous and unique😭
Korean beauty standards are changing as the are more exposed to other features that makes one beautiful like some of the features that were not accepted before have been proven to be beautiful. In the future i think that korea standards will become less burdensome.
Beauty standards is a thing which can continuously say you ugly and feel uncomfortable
I’m 4’11 Asian American, I’ve been 4’11 since I was 11 and I’m 28 now… I’ve lived life around Giants in America. But when I visited Asia as an adult. Was so happy to find that I wasn’t freakishly short 😭 my feet actually touch the floor in seats. Literally everything was in reach for me WITHOUT being lifted up or make-shifting random things for some steps or climbing things in public. I enjoyed it 😌 also super enjoyed seeing my tall friends and family dodging every door frame and bending knees to fit under ceilings 😂
My beauty fits every beauty standard
Notice how these "standards" change every frikken year. Before small lips were in, now its big lips. Why torture your face for the sake of a temporary, fleeting standard....to impress who exactly?
Looks like all you mentioned is Byeon Woo Seok 😂🥰❤️
I watched both parts and i do fit them but I still think I'm not attractive cuz on top of al these traits, I'm overweight and have crooked teeth😢
Why are you sad about these fucking stupid "STANDARDS".
Everyone is beautiful as they way they and as you too.
Hey girl you looks like moon ga young❤
i’m even too small for asian beauty standards :(
I am 170cm, high nose bridge, and naturally plump lips… but uhhh… a 2XL in Asian sizes so ima go out on a limb here and say, probably not 😅
But more than okay with it, I fit my self love standards and love my curves 🥰
The tall thing isn’t new though. Koreans have been saying that the ideal height for women is 165cm since a while ago. I remember seeing 2nd gen women kpop idols saying that they wanna be at least that tall and Korean guys saying they prefer taller girls. (but not taller than them)
Imagine doing surgeries to finally be considered pretty... and then they change everything and want the features that you can't go back
Sounds like patriarchy to me; women can never win, whatever they do, they’ll lose
Omg i fit nearly all the ones u said
(except height- i'm flippin 158 cm or something😭)
I was so close till she said height🥲
What??? 165 cm is considered tall in Korea???? 😮
Not tall but over average
I fit the beauty standard "trend" today, but dunno abt tomorrow 🤔😅🥲
I surprisingly fit all of them
the old beauty standard is more for those who prefer to be pretty, the new beauty standard is more for those who prefer to be cute.
I fit!!
Im 175 cm tall as a girl and i love heels I cant wait to visit this summer and tower over everything 😭😭
Please do peach makeup tutorial 😂❤ please

Idgaf about beauty standards because if everyone had same beauty features, won’t they be siblings?
As a 14 year old girl, my height is 170 CM 💀
Completely unrelated but her voice is so soothing.
Being 16 and 147cm, doesn't help.
I was always insecure about my height until i started getting into korean culture and realising people like tall girls (im 174cm)
I fit KBS but except 165cm height (I'm still a minor) but honestly, Koreans never have enough, they don't even leave idols alone as they expect idols to be dolls and they should fit KBS or be perfect. If u wanna fit KBS stay natural, KBS change often, so they might want a look like you in the future.
You are so pretty
I got the lips and nose but I'm a garden gnome
Not the height one 🙃
i fit all
TXT passes the 3. one for sure😭
me : who cares…? 🇯🇵
just be unique for urself… if u measure urself with other ppl standart, u will never be enuf
We all are born beautiful just in a world is judgemental
Damn, i don't fit any of these lmao
No way I'm starting to fit in their "beauty standards"
I love pink/red lips

Korean love Zendaya too😂
Above all, she is a foreigner it doesn't concern her.
I think the only one i like is the nose 😭 because the rounded nose is more natural imo
I fit in the first 2 but not in height 😅

I miss the standards 15 years ago.
I’m 1.55m so no 😅
Which idols/celebrities get called out for not being tall enough?
YOU MENTIONED JIN BTS HE IS WWH
Attention dont listen to the standards you are only beautiful when you’re confident ❤
My god u're so pretty and cuteee
Aw thanks for your kind words❤️
i fit into the lips and height
As a girlie with small/thin lips, I loove lip tints but its kinda annoying when I watch lip swatches from k-beauty brands and all I see are identical big lips. Yes, I think big lips are pretty and I understand why you would use bigger lips for lipstick/lip tint swatches but sometimes I wish both western and asian beauty companies would have models with thinner lips too. When I got into kpop around 2015, gradient lips were in and I loved that but wasn't able to do them nicely bc I had smaller lips. It sucks that we onloy want certain features and look like everyone else : ( (also I'm a petite too, its annoying when apparently being tall is the best!! I'm almost 160cm and my mom is 168cm and she always told me that she is too tall but I'm "perfectly sized" lol. Idk, I wish I was little taller but I have an illness that affected my height so I cannot change that).
Maybe Korean beauty standards should be according to how they look naturally just a thought
Yep. I fit them. 😭
Very surprisingly i fit all three of those 😅
I have
Tanned skin
But features that would be considered pretty in Korea cause my ancestors were from Nepal .. so the genes carried
I fit the standard somehow 😂
I only fit height 167cm, and lips😊
