    We bought our first stick Dyson last year and my wife just loves it. She couldn't believe how much dirt it picked up compared to our huge stand up competitor vacuum we were using prior to buying a Dyson. We were very skeptical at first on paying the price for a stick Dyson but now I see why they are priced the way they are. They are the best vacuum on the market for a reason. My wife said she will never buy any other vacuum unless its a Dyson. We highly recommend to buy a Dyson if you're looking or thinking about purchasing one. THIS IS NOT A PAID COMMENT EITHER. This is a happy customer who now is a true believer in the Dyson vacuums.

    Nice improvements, they even made it less glossy, which is a plus. Hopefully the plastics will fare better, as they don't seem very robust, especially considering how expensive these products are.

    • @Olliebobalong
      @Olliebobalong Před rokem +12

      Thy are very robust. Dyson's feel flimsy but a vacuum is subject to a lot of stress in its body (the head, the various snap in/out joints) making something rigid and solid means the energy has nowhere to escape, and causes fractures. A planes wing is designed to bend for this reason, a car's bumper is designed to deform rather than immediately crack. Dysons are usually made from polycarbonate, which is a higher grade plastic than ABS as well, but it is thinner, while it might seem less solid, they are far stronger and more flexible. Good enough for riot shields.

    This is such a game changing vacuum. Honestly, would never have thought I'd ever be impressed by a bloody vacuum cleaner. I bought the Gen5 end of last year and I vacuum in the dark - weird, I know, but the laser illuminates a whole layer of dust on the floor, something you'd never see with the lights on, and the machine JUST WORKS, it does its job very well and has powerful suction and an easy-to-use dispenser system. Also, the scratch-free soft brush is something I've longed for - I can finally just vacuum the dust right off the surface of my monitors or expensive LG OLED C2 Evo TV without any chance of ever scratching it (I have checked after by illuminating it with white light in various directions, no hint of micro scratches). So, kudos to Dyson.

  • @oliverlison
    @oliverlison Před rokem +5

    We bought a Dyson V11 for my mom. To be honest, I would throw the thing out of the house and here is why:
    - To remove pet hair from the carpet is on the eco seeting usless. It needs to be on boost mode. However, it is it that loud that you think you are having a fighter jet in your living room. Also that high pitch that comes off reving up the motor, tells me to keep the hands off. The Dyson cannot even hoover spilled cat litter. You need hearing protection when using the boost mode.
    - Top heavy. The fact that it is top heavy, it is difficult for elderly people. A botton heavy device is much easier to handle can cause less pain on the wrists.
    - Won't stay upright. When pausing hoovering for a sec because you want to move a piece of furniture or something else you always need to rest the hoover against something. This is total crap. Placing the Dyson against something (door, furniture, wall) does not work all the time. In many cases the Dyson would just tip over
    - Battery power: It lasts exactly for one tour around the house on eco.
    - Sometimes I think, the Dyson does not clean at all. Especially when moving with that roller thing for hard floors over the wooden floor. The dust particles are often not sucked into the machine from the sides.
    We are having another hoover wit cord. It can stand upright, It hoovers everything in one go and is far beyond the Dyson.
    For me the Dyson has become pretty much worthless because I rather use the corded and the job is done.
    The perfomance of the Dyson is overrated and crap in my opinion.

    • @Clove_Parma
      @Clove_Parma Před rokem +2

      1- clean your filter and adjust the head's gates to the middle setting, the V11 should have NO trouble cleaning up pet hair on carpet. Eco is really just for hardfloors with the fluffy head.
      2- if you want a powerful motor, and a long runtime you need a big battery, bottom heavy units aren't shaped well for handheld use in the car.
      3- If you wanted an upright, should've bought an upright unit, you don't buy a bike and complain that it can't fly.
      4- use the fluffy head on hardfloors, if you don't have one then open the head's gates
      Clearly you bought the unit without fully understanding the model or being mislead by retail staff, shame.

    • @oliverlison
      @oliverlison Před rokem +2

      @@Clove_Parma thank you for your advice:
      1- Filters are cleaned every time after use, maybe every second time. Adjusting the head gates does not help on two rugs in particular. The brush removes the pet hair only together with the boost mode. During eco mode the motor speeds up but does not create enough suction. Then to boost mode is being switched, then hearing protection is recommended and this is not a joke.
      2- most silly comment/answer that someone could provide. If you have a bottom heavy device you also could get hose to get the car cleaned out? Anyway, a good engneer could come up with a solution. Then it also would be possible to design a device that rests upright, when moving things around while cleaning.
      3- this tops the most silly comment/answer because it is a design flaw. How often tipped yours over? Plenty times, am I right? So, please don't comment on this.
      4- The 'soft roller' , the fluffy head, is being used on hard floors and on eco mode it is not the greatest.
      We bought the hoover for my mother - an older lady. Her idea was to use something lighter in her hands, that she also can do some cleaning around the house whenever she feels like to do so. As having explained, for older people this design causes pain to wrists. A bottom heavy device is easier to manouver around with because you would have more leverage.
      I have shared my opinion, how I have been feeling about using this device and this is my sincer and honest experience, and please Ieave your sarkasm blank next time. Not needed here.

    I plan to upgrade from the Dyson V10 to the Dyson V15s Submarine when it comes out. Being able to wet clean hard floors and also use it as a normal vacuum will be great. This is a product I have wanted Dyson to make for a long time. From the Dyson press release ‘The Dyson Submarine™ wet roller head, available with the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine, delivers just the right amount of water to effectively remove spills, stains and small debris from hard floors. To achieve an optimum ‘clean floor’ finish without over saturating, the wet roller head has been engineered with an eight-point hydration system, using a pressurised chamber for even water distribution across the full width of the roller.’

Mounted close to the floor surface, and with a 300mm range, it works by illuminating particles of dust and debris, and not the floor itself. But the illumination technology isn't included the Digital Motorbar™ cleaner head, as it doesn't provide the same benefit on carpeted floors.

    Hi,
    Please consider developing cordless upright vacuum.
    You did incredible work miniaturizing motors and improving battery life, but over time your handheld models still grew significantly in size. Although the bin size also increased to the more practical levels, the emptying experience is still miserable. The dust is flying around, undermining your great HEPA filtering system.
    Just imagine the possibilities of bigger form factor combined with your latest technology.

    I’d love to see Dyson release a metal or alloy up-right vacuum. Something with a bit better build quality than what they produce today. Don’t get me wrong, my Dyson has never let me down for as long as I’ve owned it, but the build quality and the feeling I get from using it doesn’t leave me with a sense of longevity or luxury even.

      They ought to at least follow the powertool brands by making the body of the vacuum out of glass-filled/reinforced Nylon(i.e. GF-PA6). For the ridiculous prices they charge they ought to making them out of better materials than ABS. For what they charge, they could make the body out of metal enjection molded aluminum, or laser sintered, or maybe even CNC. Considering these are China-made, the $600, $700, $800+ price tags for a pile of plastic is kind of :/

    Hello, is HEPA Filtration better than the Whole Machine Advanced Filtration in some models such as V12? Thank you

    • @dyson
      @dyson  Před 2 měsíci

      Hi there,
      HEPA stands for “high-efficiency particulate air.” HEPA filters are designed to trap smaller particles than the average filter, so you have fewer particles circulating in your home. HEPA filters help reduce allergy-causing particles such as dust, pet dander, pollen, etc
      While the filtration system prevents dirty air leaking back into your room, and it captures 99.95% of ultrafine particles¹ such as allergens and pollutants from the air.

    • @cherrycheung3067
      @cherrycheung3067 Před 2 měsíci

      Hello, thank you very much for your swift response. Apologies, just to clarify - when you said 'while the filtration system...', were you referring to HEPA or the Whole Machine Advanced Filtration System? I would like to get a clearer answer as when I used the 'Help me buy' function on Dyson website, it didn't suggest Gen5Decter to me even though I chose allergy concerns and tried various combination.
      So can you please let me know whether HEPA Filtration is a better system than the Whole Machine Advanced Filtration system? And whether is Gen5Decter's HEPA Filtration also a 'Whole Machine' filtration system, as I didn't seem to see it stated as such vs the 'Whole Machine Advanced Filtration' stated for some models?
      Many thanks again your advice in anticipation, as I would like to choose one ASAP.

      Hi there,
      We would like to inform you that the HEPA filters are best than other filters. While the filtration system prevents dirty air leaking back into your room, and it captures 99.95% of ultrafine particles¹ such as allergens and pollutants from the air.
      Also, we would like to inform you that there are different types of filters which are designed according to the compatibility of the specific machines. So, each filter which comes along with the machine is designed according to the functioning of the machine and it also increases the efficiency level of every machine.
