Bad Crash at Tail of the Dragon - Labor Day 2023

Bad crash before Labor day, a motorcyclist was taken to hospital by helicopter.
Unfortunately an accident can happen at any time, I'm not saying that the person was drinking alcohol or anything else. I have not investigated what happened. Maybe a bear went in front of him, it happened to me on Dragon, even Coyote when I was going pretty fast, lucky I didn't fall. However, in the rest area in front of the shop, you could really feel the stuff, I guess quite a few people got on their motorbikes after they had done a few joint.

I have been there four times and stayed of the resort three of those times. Met countless people of all types. Never saw any evidence of any drugs or riders being drunk or stoned. Not saying it doesn't ever happen, but everyone I've met there just wants to enjoy the road and that's it. Get enough people together and there will always be a couple of bad apples, but it's practically Mister Rogers' Neighborhood compared to the average neighborhood Harley bar.
