Its time for you all to check out some really interesting medieval villages and the Ardeche region would be one of them. Saint Montan and Balazuc are beautiful hilltop medieval villages in the south of France. The village is famous for its spectacular views, impressive architecture, and stunning geographical locations. Also a village with an exceptional heritage and natural environment, a land of potters, intellectuals and nature lovers. Dieulefit is well worth the detour in the Drome Department. !So if its your first time visiting the ardeche region then try some of these amazing french villages.

Rebels! So many villages to visit out there but without a car it can be pretty difficult to get too.

I stayed in San Montan in 1999! holiday-work
My first journey to a foreign country in April 1968 with the age of 15 with the Canu Club was to Vallon Pt. Arc. Summer temperatures in April, a beautiful Landscape attention NO tourists, Vallon was a sleeping village. No camping grounds along the river. The panarama route D 920 from Vallon to Saint Martin was in construction finished in 1972. I visted nearly every Year this area in springtime until the early 90ties. From the early 80tie onwards the charme of a sleeping village went down year by year. In Summer 22 I was there at the first september weekend to drive the D920 after an interuption of about 12 years again and for a short lunch stop at the little market place in Vallon. Terrible, ther is no difference to the mediteranian coast cities. Best time to be there meanwhile is late autumn. but anyway al lot iof quiet place I know from the past are not quite anymore.
