Miners are the worst bird. Along with butcher birds. Bloody pests. My poor cockatiel is terrified of the miners call even though she’s never outside and never encountered one
@cateyes221981 Never actually seen a confrontation between miners and mynas but the Indian Mynas do kick native birds out of their nests which is why they are declared a pest in Australia
It's not a game, its a colony wide, coordinated behaviour called mobbing. They do it against their predators and, in this case, birds that could take "their" resources.
@@Joot_Doctor I realise this is a very old conversation, 😂 I live on a couple acres and as we live in the last of the bushy area in our suburb, we’ve become quite a sanctuary for birds. The NM I always listen to - when I’m out in the yard they have countless times alerted me to a snake or lace monitor nearby, I appreciate them at those times 😂
You need to go into the highlands and listen to some curriwongs or a special species bird this ain't Aussie it's a fkn rat in the sky ya def bastard lol 🤣🤣🤣
I have aeen similar behaviour towards a kookaburra entering the minor's territory.. interestingly, 2 tawny frogmouths share the same patch of trees and a kookaburra is the only thing to get any reaction out if them.. they are on heightened alert at the sound of them and immediately go into stumping if their minor buddies are attacking.
The noises minor birds make is fkn vat shit drive ya brain crazy i have to pit earbuds in at 5am to get back to sleep its fkn annoying people are just dumb and def i swear you need to get out into nature and listen to the real beautiful birds that we have
I never have felt bad about a kookaburra until now.
Kookies are the ones at risk here
Believe me, these Noisy Miners drive you nuts after years of living here. They literally don’t shut up.
Ikr there is this bird that made a nest in my tree and these bloody things keep coming and attack it and it's so dam LOUD

❤❤❤nasty spiteful birds those miners chase them away Kookies eyes r at risk😢😢😢
Noisy miners have a patch on their eye means their are pirates and a sort of attacking.
I much prefer noisy miners than dogs barking all day long.
Miners are the worst bird. Along with butcher birds. Bloody pests. My poor cockatiel is terrified of the miners call even though she’s never outside and never encountered one
Miners are also worse than butcher birds because miners live in a group of like 30 in one area while butcher birds are usually just 2 or 3
You said your cockatiel is afraid of the noisy miner calls, then how are butcher birds pests?
@@clonecommanderbly7408 butcher birds are very aggressive I would say
I met those guys in the Blue Mountains. I never heard birds that are so NOISY considerings their size.
Ugh, the worst birds and their gang mentality is awful, everything is us versus them... a lot like some other groups of today.
Worst birds ever! Noisy miners are almost a pest in SEQ.
@cateyes221981 Never actually seen a confrontation between miners and mynas but the Indian Mynas do kick native birds out of their nests which is why they are declared a pest in Australia
Those birds are asking to be eaten.
Bird soup
So you know, Miners do this a lot. Either they do it in defense or as a sort of game.

Miner birds are a nuisance, they gang up and harass my cat when she is only sitting on the porch. I feel sorry for the kookaburra
That flower over there was noisy miner flower.

HOW DARE YOU!! NOISY MINERS ARE MY FAVOURITE
@@gentlemen.7621 Some are. Some are not. Noisy Miners are native, and annoying. Indian miners are not native, and not annoying.
@@IH8COMERCIALRNB However Indian myna's are an invasive species and engage in "cuckoo" behaviour as they swap native bird eggs with their own.
