He is not just playing the music, he lives the music with his emotions along with wonderful piano mastery.
thats all for him guys a prodigal specimen
He supposed to be Asperger's no ?
As Greta Thunberg no ?? ;) 😌🖤🤍😽😻
@@palapadadouwa807 No, he's tentatively been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder but I believe his wife said that they haven't really been able to categorize him.
@@christodoulaah yes, right.
I don't even remember why i compared. Both very talented i guess.
This performance is way above all, a'd yes he is in his (ours) world, and this make me cry for real. Even the rest of orchestra doesn't what to do with that... He's totally flying 🎹🎹🎹✨🌠
Qd tu as vu le film itou....🙏
Bel ouvrage
Mr. David is THE music himself, he' s between the notes, the silences. His passion, the way he feels this music running through his body as if it was his blood is one of the best scenes l have ever seen. Bravo, maestro. Long life to you.
After everything that he went through it’s testament to his genius that he can still play this from memory
This concert took place in 2012 and the recording is only an archival recording, filmed from the choir stalls, hence the poor balance with piano/orchestra. We think it is still lovely being able to watch David's expressions and passion so clearly.
Oh! It is! absolutely wonderful! A presence that exudes passion.
Delightful!
Amazing
No exact date?
Also, is there someone singing along or am I hearing things?
@@Stelios.Posantzis The pianist keeps screaming for some annoying reason, awful performance.
@@kingconcerto5860 Do you know Helfgott's story?
You have to smile watching David get so enrapt in his world. It's a beautiful thing really.
I adore the movie Shine with Geoffrey Rush as David Helfgott. It's wonderfull to see the master himself playing the piano. What a great pianist. Love him.
I didn't think he played this one still
What a phenomenal natural talent. Such passion… What a history… Moved me to tears. Bravo, Mr. Helfgott!!
No talent. Just work.
Mr.Helfgott makes our souls roam and search for the deepest in life and essence.Thank you, God, for letting us absorb his talent through our finest senses.
A triumph for sufferers of mental illness or any crisis. Delightful!
His gifts to the world: his singing, piano interpretation, joy when playing and love for others.
I’ve just watched ‘Shine’ and I couldn’t help smiling. He is so beautiful, his music is so amazing. I feel really lucky that I can watch him playing. He and his wife make me think a lot. I do appreciate them. Thank you.
Absolutely Amazing!!! This man and his music bring tears to my eyes specially after seeing the movie Shine and realising the hard life he had, but most important he overcame that and dedicated his life to Music and here we are enjoying this amazing piece of music played by an incredible man!!!
Ah, David, ONLY YOU play & interpret the Rach. 3 in such a manner which evokes such emotional reactions within me! Thank you G_d for creating such a talented individual who can reach the very soul of individuals in a quantum manner & communicate such an intensity of love, empathy, & healing compassion for humanity! Every note is a truffle!
Thanks again, David! Much love, always.
You are so unique David everytime i hear you playing i cry.. i love you!
Love Rachmaninoff and Helfgott´s story touches me specially.
SIGUES SIENDO MI FAVORITO DAVID HELFGOTT!!!,... ES UN DELEITE ESCUCHARTE TOCAR CUALQUIER PIANO, LOS HACES BRILLAR!!!
Alma, Almita.
Fantastic what a living music concert! Touches my heart I am in tears❤️
David Helfgott is a pure soul. Is really a inuaual and very beautifull interpretation.
Touch of angel!! Amazing Dave!!
God Bless You David Helfgott x
Maravilhoso!
Simplesmente belo. I love this song. Bravo David! Bravo...
Nearly 20 years after Shine David is still hoofing it with the Rach 3 and doing a wonderful job considering the incredibly difficult demands placed on the soloist. Interesting to speculate on what might have been had he not had that breakdown and vanished into obscurity. Reminds me a bit of the Ervin Nyiregyhazi story.
Just amazing!!
How can one not vocalise the passion of the music not with words but emotions. Incredible!
A beautiful mind!
I will always adore David Helfgott!
Super David! Not only is he, one of the best performers around, but he also partecipates emotionally!
It's amazing he can play it still.
and without sheet music.......every note retained inside his mind! amazing what he has stored in there!
@@smallfaucet every concert pianist does the same, there's loads of them who can do this, and much better.
@@markfowlermusic ++++
It's a relative term "play" he sings and mumbles along like Glenn gould.. just shows you how close concert pianists are to insanity. 👍
How excellent orchestra concert!!. my dear friend..thumbs up.enjoyed.thanks. I wish you a great week..greetings:)
David is proof music somehow manages to make sense of this nonsensical world
I hope you'll still be able to say this in this future because at this rate nothing will seem to make any sense in a few years' time - not when the ice-caps have melted, rainforest been razed and most great animal species have gone extinct!
David is a complex man. He was found playing in a bar in Perth in Western Australia, by a Dr. The Dr took him under his wing and helped him over come many mental issues he had. From there he started playing in bigger venues rather than in the local pub. David used to perform at the Mundaring Weir hotel in February ( the hottest month of the year ) and by night fall the place was jam packed. he played numerous pieces from Liszt, Chopin, Brahms etc to a standing ovation. I have no idea where he is now or if he is still performing. What was somewhat amusing was listening to him humming along to the piece he was playing, but after a while ones ears became accustomed to his humming. And so David soon became a house hold name
¡Excelente!
What I love about him is he has been through so much and yet he has no bitterness, no malice, is very sweet and very humble, just listen to videos of what his wife says about him to see. I also happen to think he is a genius and this orchestra is awesome, it’s just the acoustics in the room that was bad!
Stupendo David, stupendo!
IT FILLS MY HEART WITH LOVE THAT DAVI FOUND GILLIAN AND THAT SHE HEALED DAVID TO RETURN TO THE WORLD STAGE WHERE HE BELONGS...AND WHAT A MASTER PIANIST HE IS. WITH CONDOLENCE FOR GILLIANS PASSING LAST YEAR IN 2022 AND DAVID'S HEALING... HE IS PLAYING IN CONCERTS IN AUSTRALIA AND GERMANY THIS YEAR..2023....A BLESSING ALWAYS.
BRAVO, DAVID!!!! LUTA E PERSISTÊNCIA. BRILHA, DAVID!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
You're a ROCKSTAR DAVID!!!! Love ya mate!
David is genuine and special .
Çok sevdiğim bir eser.
His ossia cadenza is mind blowing to me. He plays it with such ease and almost makes it seem happy in a bizarre yet very enjoyable way.
Bravíssimo!
Great guy !
shine!
mamma mia...che brividi. Grande David.
He's such a wonderful man/ pianist
I love you David.
GENIUS SHINING!!!!!
A lovely genius
It's pain that has shed glory left and right with out leaving the man for one second.
He is really absorbing.
grande David!
My mom loves stuff like this
EMOTIONAL, GIGANTISCH,aber auch tief beűhrend....
I've watched this many times
i go emotional
A genious !
The most emotional performance of this composition ...no one plays it like him
Try Volodos. This performance is a joke compared to the Levin/Volodos recording with the Berlin Philharmonic.
@@kingconcerto5860 also a joke compared to Nobuyuki Tsujii...
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
OMG 😍😍😍😍
If you love music, David shows you why!
I cried
Wonderful, thank you for this. When did this concert take place.

One incredible ligth moment
grande
best on the world ever all time
lmao
😍😍
I feel like I've just caught a glimpse of the face of god. There is something so beautiful about this
He is playing better here than on the CD. But.... omg.... his singing.....
🤘
See the Netflix doc Hello I am David.
Just noticed his pedaling in the theme statements (through about 3:00) David is lifting the entire foot, heel and all. Now that is investment in the spirit of music. Full abandon to the joie dans la musique is a rare delight!
i'm grateful to have the visual perspective of an orchestra member performing with David.
Do you have the full performance?
wow! Gustavo Godoi Ferreira
The naturalistic sweeping motion of his performance around 5:35 is an interesting departure from the more "dramatic" mechanical/stilted performances I've heard.
Few people realise it was the shock treatment that would have cooked him. Fortunately he still retained his talent and brilliance.
The sound is ...
This is an archival video recording taken from the choir stalls behind the orchestra. It was not shared for sound quality, it was shared to show a unique view from a wonderful experience had by all.
To the people who complain about his singing, what would you do after archiving a mental state lie helfgott does
Un grandissimo talento, purtroppo travolto dal destino. Molta tenerezza e sensibilità
he is one of the greatest of all time..
EJEMPLO

hang on a minute..... I could be wrong but it is my understanding that this is the piece of music that sent David crazy. Why subject him to it again?
+Athos Musketeer It's possible the movie made it that way. He was a little off for a while before then anyway.
First off the piece didn't make him crazy. Secondly it's his favorite piece
I didn't know he could play the piano too!
Sin partitura????
It looks like a public rehearsel/try-out but probably it is not. He makes more sounds then Glenn Gould. Nevertheless its utterly inspiring. As though we hear the suffering off Rachmaninoff himself
Hi Michael. This was in fact in performance at City Recital Hall, Angel Place, Sydney.
David's amazing. You cannot compare his passion with the conductor. She looks disconnected, low energy. I may be wrong. Bravo David!!!!
I think she looks poised and in control
I didn't know Rachmaninoff did a piano/vocal concerto XD
this is the first movement of Rachmoninoff's second piano concerto not his third.
No, it’s the third
Hehehe...well, of course you're not supposed to clap in-between movements...but with David acting all wild and endearing, it just kinda happened, l guess.
