really hope they start giving this game more love soon, it's so annoying what's happened with it because personally I enjoy how the combat feels in this WAY more compared to v2
It's slightly slower paced, which makes ranged combat work much better. Plus they made the melee heftier as a result. I went back to VT2 for a couple games and it feels like you are playing a ballerina on speed by comparison
@@maxanderson8872 Interesting, I also went back to VT2 recently, and I feel quite the opposite. Melee in VT feels slower and more methodical since you have to focus on dodging and blocking more due to not having Toughness, meanwhile in DT you've got a lot more movement options and it feels way more hectic overall. Just my opinion though.
@@maxanderson8872 for me it's just how the "impacts" on enemies feel, everything feels alot more beefy and slow like you mentioned which for me is alot more satisfying, vt's combat doesn't have as much weight to it for me if that makes sense

Right, I've been playing this a while now, and absolutely comfortable with auric maelstrom...but with a psyker usually. How do you pull that off, that you pull out a loaded weapon for a good ol' instagib after discharging to empty? I feel like today years old.
Chaos demons check under their beds at night because their scared the doom guy lurks there. The greater demons scare the lesser demons with the tale that a doom guy exist.
I still don't think they are making any where enough effort with this title. Gacial releases, still a buggy mess, poor optisation, too much focus on of MTX store, no new characters... fatshark you gotta up your game.
So when you shoot the shotgun and the game forces you to look down when you switch weapons right after. Is that just a feature to make you beat the crap out of the corpses to make sure the enemy is dead?
It has a blessing that gives it infinite cleave on crit. it only stops cleaving because of damage falloff after enough travel distance if you use it haha.

yeah its not an ideal blessing with the way im playing, but i had limited time to play on the early access build so I just made a weapon that was "good enough". Run and Gun and Deathspitter would probably be a solid combo for Blessings

I mean this all looks great but it just makes you realize that this game needed at least a full extra year in the oven so they could have started releasing new enemy types, maps and weapons straight away. Now Fatshark basically spent a year just finishing the talent tree and the penance system, and only now got around to reworking the horrible crafting system. All for like 4.000-5.000 active players.

Hope they implement a chaos waste like rogue lite as well, as that would go a long way to keep it fresh inbetween these atrocious waits between content drops... And some money throw at hiring a moderation team would be nice for all the rommel and hitlers alone one seems to run into, not to speak of the more gameplay ruining aspects you can encounter when you get matched with 3 premades with ill intent.
So I finally reinstalled this cuz this looks like so much fun, and I’m still unable to complete my vantage point penance on veteran 😂 have now completed investigation 4 times on malice and it still saying 0/1 on even the lowest version 😂
Yes and no. Rather than waves endured, you wade through hordes and patrols of enemies as you travel a map with a chain of objectives to lead you through. Character customization is greater in Darktide with more freedom and builds to play how you like. Setting up your character and equipment/skills/cosmetics is done from the main hub before you deploy on a mission. And it's all Warhammer 40k themed. In a busy game your strike team will kill a few thousand enemies.

I have an aesthetic complaint after watching a veteran stream. The animations and sound affects for the bolt pistol feel limp and unsatisfying. It is mechanically a high accuracy grenade pistol but the kick back looks hella goofy and the slide barely moves. To top it all off your reject holds the bolt pistol down near the hip and away from themself even when you ads making it look and feel like your character is scared of actually aiming their fucking gun.

I think even the most ardent Fatshark supporters would have a hard time calling their support for this game anything but slow and uneven. Their pace of content additions and buggy/flawed launches that take many months/years to fully fix are literally the two most common complaints about them as a developer since Vermintide 1. Not really a new thing. No, I dont expect a new map every week. But a handful of slightly tweaked weapon marks is not substantial content to me, and Warren 6-19 was drip fed, it was playable back in November, yet came out officially in April. I appreciate what they do well and enjoy their games and will continue playing them on occasion. But FS do a lot of stuff quite poorly, and internally I think even they would admit to that

It's a small studio that's further split up between different projects. There's probably a very small team working on Darktide it is what it is

Pair it with Chainsword and call the build Rip and Tear
