Keith, I'm a Digital Nomad in Croatia, and a US citizen. Please know, to apply for the DN visa Croatia requires a rental contract for a local apartment and FBI background check (to obtain which you would have to mail fingerprints to USA) + apostille. It's not that easy. Only about 800 of them were issued since introduction 2 years ago. If you decide to get a DN visa here, I can help you navigate that and get you in contact with a good local attorney.
My husband and I went to sharm el sheik in 2019, we absolutely loved it. The crazy part was hopping on a random cargo ship from Aqaba to nuweba. Any then at 3 am talking some local into driving us across the sainai peninsula. They have random security/visa checks and the guards are dressed in civilian clothes and carry rocket launchers. I love telling stories of our adventures
Hey guys - instead of flying from Eilat to TA, its a beautiful and restful drive through the dessert. It only takes about 5/6 hours depending on how fast you want to go, and you avoid all the hassles of flight and the airport security junk in Israel. Highly recommended..
Kate is the new Tomb Raider!! She is so inspiring!! You go Kate!! Love watching you even though you tend to stay in the background. That's ok. Just know we see you too girl!!
Almost where you started in circumnavigating the globe.👍
When Sailing Zatara posts, it’s a good day.
Another groovy day in the life sailing video. Jack and Finn both play guitars. They should put together a rock album, and hold a world contest for a lead singer for the album.
The opening scenes were some of your best and that is saying something. Very informative about the passports.
When I'm watching people kiting or foiling on SAILING ZATARA, I slowly realise that I have the broadest grin on my dial. Those pictures bring a whole lot of pleasure to me and I'm sure to a lot of viewers. Keep doing it please, keep on getting way out there on the water. 💗
FYI: Schengen is in Luxembourg (small country between France, Germany and Belgium)
Actually Schengen is not primarily about the 90 days for foreigners. It's about free movement of people between the Schengen countries. A person from one Schengen country can travel, live and work in any other Schengen country without any border control, visa's, permits or limits. Basically like its one single country.
The 90 days rule only applies to people from outside Schengen area, like you guys.
USA is also only 90 days...
@@Rob-ee1im Because USA is not in Schengen.
Renee, your videography and story-telling skills are so amazingly beautiful! You make it seem so easy but I’m sure you devote the majority of your time creating these videos that capture the wonderful life you all live. Thank you so much for sharing a bit of it with us💜
I agree!!! I've been watching them since the beginning on the monohull!! I LOVE watching their content more than most other sailing channels.
Thank You ZATARA for what you do!!!
Yes, Renee is an awesome!!! Thank you Renee!!
That opening shot was gorgeous! Enjoyed the kiting videos too!
Renee, u dont have to explain yourself, u do an awesome job with the vlog. Thats your expertise. U have one of the best vlogs ive seen
Lol Keith is such a goofball 😂😅 Renee your editing just keeps getting better and better!
Just in case you didn’t know we love Rena just how she is!!!
Right? She is so sweet and such a treasured gem! She deserves respect and kindness!
Hey Renee, Just keep doing what your doing because it works. To the rest of the Zatara family, way to go! You make it look easy and the smiles share with us how much fun your having.
Schengen is the name of a small village in Luxembourg, on the border with Germany and France, where the Schengen Agreement and the Schengen Convention were signed in 1985 and in 1990 respectively. Not Scotland or England;)
Is there anything you guys miss about your life before this sailing lifestyle? Just started watching your channel and have binge watched almost all… love you guys !
Is the old intro gone??! These videos bring me so much joy! Your production skills are amazing! Keep your great work up!
Good for you, Renee. There is nothing wrong with being a spectator (and the Family "Safety Officer"...somebody has to keep an eye on things ;)
As I got older and body parts weren't as repairable as they once were, I became the Safety Officer. It's a thankless job but somebody has to call 911...lol!!!
Man video production and editing skill are so good, eat your heart out JJ Abrahams
What an amazing life style you guy’s have, I’ve been watching now for quite awhile. I can’t imagine all my kids growing up on a catamaran. Everyone seem to love it. What an awesome adventurous life. You only live once. Just amazing. I think I would love it. But for now, it’s fun to be living through you! You guys are the real deal. Definitely brave too. ❤
Outstanding thumbnail, thank you Renne for Birthing and Raising such Unique kids , i wish all the Happiness for Kait
That really has been a heck of a boat for your family.
Anxiety…. I get it. That explains a lot girl. But you rock with editing. My creative sister. We all respect you totally
Having that kind of quality time with your children, especially at this stage of their lives, is such a wonderful gift! I know you cherish it!
The filming and editing of Sailing Zatara makes Renee the star of these shows.
My brother in law is a captain in Sweden and used to captain those cargo ships all over the world. He is no a bona fide family man so settled down in Stockholm. Love my Swedish in laws :)
Love how cruisers share vital information, that's always the right spirit. Atticus, Uma, Zatara, GBU you all make our landlocked lives interesting! Wish you blessings and thanks!
Videoing, editing, graphics, somehow keeps getting better. If you can manage your anxiety without meds, that’s best. Another great episode.
What an INTRO! Great job editing. Your videos are so good! You all have your strengths.
Fascinating and fun episode. Way to kick anxiety's butt Renee! Such a great family. ❤️
Always like to see a happy family doing "stuff" together. In this case, Sailing together! From Lisboa, Portugal safe travels to your family!!
PS: try the portuguese islands Madeira and Açores
You all have quickly became my favorite sailing channel. You guys have so much fun out there and it's so wholesome to see you guys do it as a family. Cheers 🍻
I cannot wait til you all get back to the Bahamas. I really hope you guys stay there for a while and let us see that beautiful water, and the fish, and the Islands.

Thank you Rene. I didn’t know what shingan was. Sorry Keith.
Schengen is in Luxembourg and the agreement was signed there in 1985 😊
Renee, you are killin it on the video cinematic production quality. Way above other YTers.
As my wife and I are planning are trip around the world I know she will be taking more notes from this one. She is currently watching all Z crews videos for the 2nd time.
Thank you Z crew!
Huge respect for being honest about your challenges with anxiety…. We need more people like you. Loving the channel!
☺️🙏🏼💕
That was some sweet kite boarding!
Renee your editing skills are excellent! Loved the opening shots of the family doing what they do out there on the water! And thanks for sharing what you do too! I'm jealous watching your upcoming cruising schedule! I look forward to all that you share with us over the next year! Visited Dubrovnik's ancient walled city (everyone should visit) few years ago now and sailed around Croatia's islands and visited their national parks, just amazing, and the Adriatic Sea... is just phenomenal!!! God Bless!!
It’s so relaxing to go sailing with y’all. Thanks for taking us along. 👍❤️
I know about the Schengen because it is an aggravation to people like me who like to travel for a year or so at a time. When I am somewhere for only the 90 days, I do use the Schengen calculator to keep track of time. So,when I lived in Moldova last year, I traveled to Poland, Croatia, the Czech Rep, Romania, etc... and was able to keep an exact accounting for my Moldova stay.
Thats how my mom is in theme parks. She enjoys seeing others having a good time n she is totally fine with watching items or just chatting with whoever doesnt want to go on a ride. I miss her tons,we live in separate states
Kieth is the most American man ever. This guys a legend. Lucky family
A legend? Get real, you will overinflate and already overinflated ego. He hasn’t done anything better than the average person.
@@nateseltos1401 look how mad you are. It proves he’s winning.
Love these videos every week, you make me smile, such a healthy lifestyle. Great education for the kids. Sending you guys gentle tailwinds and smooth seas, pls keep them rolling
I had regular anxiety attacks from probably 16-20, I would get hot out of nowhere and had to take my shirt off and walk into the snow to cool off or take a cold shower. Once it culminated into a severe panic attack that made me believe I had a brain tumor (worked as a paramedic so I knew the symptoms). Went to the hospital at 11pm for an MRI but nothing was found. Now at 23 I cut out most carbs and I am cool as a cucumber. I believe carbohydrates and sugar played a major role in that period.
Meth head Renee. 😂
Keith, you crack me up, brother.
Renee, we are exact same age & I have mirrored your experience with anxiety too & previously having taken medication for it. I know it’s hard being on a boat with little storage space, but you need a craft to keep your hands busy.
I do macrame wall hangers to relieve my anxiety & worrisome thoughts.
And you know what…
They all “just float away”.
Maybe take your little jingle in your song as some advice… “let it all just float away.”
Much love sister. 💗

Anxiety and sailing the vast empty oceans to strange remote islands with young children?! 🤔
Best wishes.
Thank you for your videos.
Appreciate them.
As always a nice video. Thank you for the weekly entertainment. I really enjoy your content. You are a lovely family. By the way, Schengen is a little town in Luxembourg - a little country between France, Germany and Belgium.
I think Spain has a good DN program. It is primarily Mediterranean countries with DN visas. In some Schengen countries, you would qualify for residency based on your business income. Portugal might be good because of the Non-Habitual Residence tax incentives.
Thanks Renee for sharing your life! Your family is such an inspiration and this channel embraces the life of travel I want to have! Keep it up:)
Your kids are just so amazing, Kate is all girl but she sure can keep up with Jack and Fin. I love watching your videos, you all are my favorite channel. I have been watching y'all since day one, got to watch the kids grow up and watch mom and pop learn this life and your videos are top of the line. Thanks for sharing.
Great episode, guys Renee mentioned the workshop for the Bluewater Cruising, this workshop will give you a chance to talk with Keith and his business partner Chris. I have gone through a previous workshop and highly recommend it.
Your family has inspired my fiancé and i to learn sailing as we crunch the numbers on how we can live a similar lifestyle. Maybe in a 40’ Catamaran.
I hope you’re able to!!!
@@gabyrojas5778 thank you. We are getting married on one next year. We are fairly close to retirement and actually might be able to. I just need to get some experiences before we take that leap.
A forty footer is like driving across the country in a 10 year old Kia Rio on dirt roads. A bigger boat is thrown around less by the waves - and a 50 footer is a good starting size for blue water cruising. Keith is on a 60 footer and just glides through the water.
@@murrayspiffy2815 that’s some good advice, but I feel like anything bigger would be too much boat for the two of us.
@@dd214veteran but if you are the captain of a boat safety is number one. You don’t wanna play with Mother Nature. She will swallow you whole. Like the guy guy said above, anything smaller than 60 ft. You are risking all the lives on the boat. Think of the BAD STORMS that could come. My wife’s Life is worth a 100 hundred MEN and I would not put her in danger like this. This sounds ridiculous.
renee!! thank you for being so open with us about your anxiety. i can 100% on all accounts
I only discovered y’all’s channel recently but I absolutely love it! It’s great y’all sprinkle in good advice while showing how you live. Can’t wait for the next video!
I am a South East Asian Chinese watching your CZcams. I can really sense your dislike of China and possibly Chinese people. Otherwise, you seem to be nice people.
3.9K+ subscriber LIKE; 32K+ desktop shipmate view starting now... 11:11 really liked seeing your ambitious Med-Coastline Tour route mapped out. WOW!!
Avoiding ships during travel encounters seems simple enough when the visibility is good - but in fog, at night, or in bad weather that can be a major concern.
Jack "previously on Sailing Zatara, Jack and Finn decide to start an Only Fans account" had me chuckling. So much comedy in one family, let alone the sports and living life to the fullest on your own terms.
Schengen is a small town in Luxembourg at the border with Germany. It was the place where the Schengen agreement was signed.
You probably never get the feeling you know someone on CZcams like we all do with Sailing Zatara. I feel like I could hang out with Keith/Renee and it would be a blast. (I'm 50, so roughly the same age.) Sorry you have anxiety Renee. I felt it when you were stuck at the airport. God bless you.
So much to know on the business side of going country to country. Video beautifully done and enjoyable to watch. 😊
Really looking forward to the adventures in the med, always a favorite place of mine. Almost back to Greece!
wow Rene, the wind gives you anxiety (me too) and you live on a wind powered house. good on you!
Absolut love the intro, looks like someone is watching Outlanders, love that show. Great video can't wait to see wants next.
Renee , love the way you tell every story. You were made you this girl.
Great shots of the board riding getting some Big Time , up there long enough for a mid flight meal ,,, Australia ..
Wow the kids are becoming Pros huh??
it's so cool to see their progression!
Jack's messed up sense of humor made for the perfect ending. 🤣
Kids are awesome on the kites
My dad had a masters license 100 ton. He was a Sport Fishing boat captain owner. When I was around 12 13 out of Oxnard California we’d head out to the Channel Islands to fish. We’d pass through shipping lanes everyday. On the way back dad would take a nap and I watched the wheel and auto pilot. Little did the 30 or 40 passengers know I was at the helm of our 65 foot trawler fishing boat doing around 12 knots maneuvering between cargo ships on the way back in to harbor. 😅 I loved deciding wether I should go behind the ship or beat it crossing in front. Dad would be snoring away as I did all this. Craziness thinking about it now. 😅. The Coroloma was the name of our boat. He went on to buy other boats and owned the Ventura fishing business and the Port Hueneme fishing business later on.
Since you're here to tell the tale. I seems you made the correct choices regarding passing in front or behind those giant ship's!! Ha!
You make every video as entertaining as the next! Keep it up 🤙🏼
Kiting is the relaxation medication for anxiety.
Renee, you're not the only person to keep their eyes shut in a taxi in Egypt. We saw 5 lanes of traffic on a 3 lane road. Sometimes we like to complain about traffic Police here but a trip to Egypt convinced me that traffic Police are the best invention ever to keep us safe.
Great episode guys! 😀 Loved it. Also loved the intro edit. Nice work! Thanks for sharing your story, Renee! You rock! ❤️👍🏼
I want to thank you all for this wonderful entertainment. I live to watch your show. You give me hope & laughs very up lifting. Keep up the good work & stay safe . May God watch over us all.
Love the videos. Just FYI: Schengen is in Luxemburg and not in the UK. 🙂
For clarity, the Schengen treaty aligns the entry requirements of participating countries and eliminates border checks when travelling between those countries. One of the aligned rules is that tourist visas allow entry for up to 90 days within any 6 month period; however the much larger benefit is that you don't need a separate entry process for each country, and once you are in the Schengen zone, you can travel anywhere within it without stopping. When travelling from France to Germany (both Schengen zone members), it feels the same as travelling from state to state within the US.
The other thing that the Schengen zone does is permit freedom of movement for citizens of Schengen Zone countries with full work and residence rights as longs as they register their presence within three months of changing country.
Any non EU citizen who wants to stay longer than 90 days should look at getting a type 'D' National long stay visa with multi-entry endorsement, if possible. This would mean you'd enter that specific country, then be able to move around the borderless Schengen Zone for up to the visa expiry (max is 1 year) but you'd have to return to the issuing country and exit the Schengen Zone from that country.
im glad i found this channel you guys are awesome!! its like a tv series!
I’m from Croatia, but live in New York now. Looking forward to see your Cro adventures and all the familiar destinations!
I'll tell you one thing Renée, you make the Best videos on CZcams. Absolutely.
Renee - great job on the motion tracking graphics at the beginning, I have learned what a pain in the butt they are first hand 😊
Hi there,
Your life is my dream life. I love how the parents kid with each other and the family are very happy together. The sib rivalry is normal but you get along. Keep up the good work. Rene, I just found a you tube vid on keeping cilantro for a month. I tried it and it stayed great for 4 weeks, at 6 weeks it was just starting to go. I love the stuff but hate when it goes so bad in my fridge so quickly.. So here's how.
When you get it home, wash it, clean it off so its all fresh looking, dry it, with towels. then,... lay it fairly spaced on paper towels, then roll them up, place in a ziplock and store in the fridge. Trust me, you'll love it!! Looking forward to Thursdays. Jo :D
For moments of anxiety 5 4 3 2 1 count backwards from 5 - Mel Robbins The 5 Second Rule look it up its quick and effective.
Schengen is a town in Luxembourg. Where in 1985 five European countries signed a treaty to abolish controls at borders between them, which allows free travel without controls across those borders. In the meantime more countries have signed and the total is now 27. These countries are often referred to as the Schengen countries or Schengen Area. Note: not all EU countries are in Schengen, most notably Ireland, because it borders the UK, which is no longer EU (and never signed the treaty). And non-EU countries in Europe are obviously also not in the Schengen Area, with the exception of Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Iceland.
It’s refreshing to watch this channel :)
Not sure why, but the sound of the anchor chain, whether it's going up or down, is music to my ears.
“Trying to learn from my husband..!” Too funny
😂😂😂 remember Renee, pops needs them sugas! Dude! Jack and Finn is getting killer on that kite!! Miss Kate is starting to kick butt on it too! Keith Keith Keith, you taught me something this evening on that “shinging” thing, (I know that’s incorrect spelling, just seems right) man Keith, you reminded me of a pirate with them gloves on for some reason. Y’all keep up, love watching this stuff, almost feels like you’re there, it’s just the smell, can’t smell the salt from the ocean from these foothills where I’m at. Y’all are awesome!!
You guys rock! Keep it up!
So, when the family goes kiting, Renee takes a nap! Whoo-hoo!
Hey Keith. How long did it take you to feel totally comfortable to sail? Like where you were confident in fixing things, plotting your path and not worried about bad weather? Since your kids have grown up on the boat, do you see the difference in their risk taking (greater?) And how has it affected their ability to adapt? Do they see the world a lot smaller where they could live outside the US? Are your children better at repairing things when you compare yourself growing up in "just Texas"? You have to be resourceful in the world. How has the boat changed your spending habits because of your limited space and lifestyle? How has travel made them less American (I see they use Metric, Celsius more). Thanks for sharing your blessed lives! 🌍
Schengen is a small town in Luxemburg nearby the german border in the east and the french border in the south. So you can easily go for a walk to have breakfast in Germany, lunch in Luxemburg and dinner in France if u stay around there. Thats were they declared the very important Schengen Abkommen for a lot of european countries. Best regards und immer ne handbreit Wasser unterm Kiel! From Germany
Hope you guys end up in Malta, beautiful and I am sure you will love it
@sailing zatara we love u so muchhh i am seeing yall since a few hundred subscribers and just very eager and excited and wait for your new videos out every week . u are a biiggg inspiration for me to go sailing someday . cant wait to meet yall personally if and when u plan a meet up or camp . hope z crew sail up to India and explore the south west indian side . love from India . best regards safe travels
Jack was playing a game called outer wilds absolutely brilliant game such a mind boggling experience
Omg, look how many comments on here… I haven’t commented before…. Just wanted to say that the kiteboarding tricks off the back of the boat by the boys looks soooo fricken good:)
Amazing videos guys:)
Love the videos recently!
