- The winter is still holding on, coming and going how it wants to. Still, we have our minds on the upcoming summer. I'm going to go on a road trip in a few weeks in my self-built van, but before that, it needs to be changed from a one-person van into a two-person van. Building in cold and wintery weather is not always easy, but this is how it is in the north of Finland and we have to live by it.

Hi! I know I'm a little late to the party, but I found you today in 2024.
I'm sure you have found a solution by now to the bed issue.
But when we had to move MANYMANYMANY years ago and get a full size bed into an attic type area, we built a hinged inch thick plyboard where it stayed like you had it at first, but had two memory foam twin 'rv' mattresses. At night, we unfolded the boards and put the other mattress side by side.
When not in use, we folded the plyboard & stacked it on top of the other and just put the blanket on top. It was a little bigger than the van, but just a thought.

I fell inlove with winter Finnish Lapland since I am in Oulu for one semester exchange studies just now and I have done a few trips up there! Northern Finland is so beautiful and peaceful and so your videos are. What is better than a shaggy puppy in the snow? Not much..but maybe except her mom and dad working on their van and being so loving to each other! If I had a daughter and her partner I'd want them to be just like you two...thanks for sharing!

Dear Sanna, watching Nordic Life - # 11…..Love your panaramic view of ❄️ winter. I live in Northern Michigan where our winters the last three years have been warmer than usual, and most of us say we are lucky, but truth be told- we are missing our snowfall. Watching your van conversion in the ⛄️ snow, I’ll share a saying I often use, “ THIS TOO SHALL PASS “. Summer will come!

I love Finland.
Great video. I really liked the scenery and the music. Lapland is supposed to be beautiful with being able to see the northern lights. Just an idea for the van: you could essentially build a large box and have long pullout drawers below for your stuff. You would sleep on top and everything is stored below. My friend did this with his truck and he uses it for camping. Keep up the good work 👍

Really nice and enjoyable video Sanna! Every winter has its end and Spring will come. There is still feet of snow on the ground here and it’s still snowing. It does feel endless. 💙🥶❄️🤣🙌🏻

this is how i imagine heaven... some people are so lucky to live in this fairytale world. here in eastern or central europe we see mostly rain, mud, summers are too hot, winters barely snowy... air is so disgusting to breathe. i wish i could breathe this clean air and live where its snowy all time. no wonder finland is among very top happiest and best places to live in various polls and stats :)
