While yes, the "Christians" he interviewed at the end have their own motives and can't be viewed as wholly noble in their goal, the fact they spent their time on air actually talking about what Christ taught and how to act really helps put into perspective the disconnect between the "Christians" at these rallies actions and motives, when compared to what Christ actually taught. On that note, I don't think using the crusades to further your argument about how Christ would handle the situation is a great way to prove any point. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who looks at the crusades as a righteous endeavor that wasn't tainted by corrupt people within the church. Even Catholics. Honestly, it's a terrible way to defend this stance of a Christian army whose goal is to spread hate, discontent, and discourage people from helping one another. veteran here, i have a 60% disability rating. i have never had to wait at the VA for any service any longer than i would have if i had gone to a private hospital. in fact, its typically way faster for me to get VA care. pretty much every person that brings up veterans not getting care have no idea what they are talking about.
I have a lot of family that uses the VA and they actually talk about the great benefits and the schooling. I’m very curious to see who’s not getting these benefits or who’s suffering, I do wonder if it’s a case by case thing, not too sure

100% agree, but what annoys me is that one party in particular constantly nukes any attempt at reforming the LEGAL immigration process. There is straight up not enough staff within the DHS and USCIS to handle the volume of applicants we receive, which means the screening quality goes down and the time to wait goes up. Mike Johnson refusing to even bring the latest border bill to a vote is just the latest act in a string of seemingly intentional moves to continue to let the system rot and collapse under its own weight.
My little sisters husband who she recently married has been here since he was a baby not born here but he just lost his green card which he pays a couple grand for yearly pays taxes out of his paychecks for services he will never be able to use like social security. And despite what people say getting married doesn’t m magically fix that stuff. It’s a complete disaster and 5he huge influx and political bullshit isn’t helping. This stuff is sad and frustrating he is also one of the hardest working people I know and never complains. i respect andrew, just a quick comment as a business owner and friend of many who own adult family homes, we received ballots for all the people that worked for us from jamaica that are not citizens. so they do get to vote. we received voting ballots for the 2020 presidential election for visitors from my home country that stayed for a month or so.
That's pretty much how all of these stories and riots go. I was working in an office building when the Michael Brown protests were happening in Clayton. The actual protesters were about 30-40% of the total crowd. The rest were simply media - there were more media covering the event than actual protestors. People just don't turn out to these things but the media will angle the camera shots so they look much more impressive than they are. I'm not saying that organizing is a bad thing - I'm simply saying that the media always sells an over inflated narrative because otherwise no one would watch the segment.
It blows me away that people will say things like "id rather my money go to american citizens" then vote to give the money to billionaires. We absolutely should take care of our homeless and disabled and elderly, but you need to vote for people that will.
As a veteran they always say there’s no programs for veterans and let me tell you there are tons of programs for so many veterans. The problem is how they are managed most veterans don’t know of these programs and will never know of them because one they don’t tell you or the veteran doesn’t go searching for them. Another problem with veteran programs are the wait times and the people that work in these programs are very judgmental to veterans because most of them are veterans and there is that stigma of being weak for searching for help that persists till this day.

This is true for most government safety nets because 1. They always end up with way less money than is needed to make large dents in issues, usually ending up as band aids to a gushing wound 2. Even if an initiative has semi proper funding politicians who are against supporting welfare will find a way to funnel funds to private interests so they can hire incompetent workers who waste more than they help. Both issues causing people to think socially funded programs can't fully address problems. Citizens after enough times become less and less trusting of governments that want to help but can't if no one asks. While companies who present a worse alternative profit off the suffering of everyday folks. It's a vicious cycle.
My boyfriend is a veteran and was homeless for a long time before getting the proper help from the VA. He's starting a charity to help other homeless vets and hoping he'll be a pipeline from homelessness to a sense of stability for other vets.

As a fairly young guy, I've seen enough to identify bad actors. If Andrew was truly committed to a sense of impartialiy, he would've also done research on these people, and what I found was that these "Christians" are affiliated with progressive Democratic candidates and inflammatory political PACs like The Lincoln Project that spew vitrolic hatred against Trump supporting conservatives.
What really did it for me was how Andrew completely disregarded issues such as shoplifting in San Francisco under the same "it absolutely has no affect on you" umbrella framing it as a conservative media narrative. Yeah, right lmao, you can literally find videos of local news stations reporting about this phenomenon.
This is what I mean and it shows how disingenous and bad faith Andrew really is. It's not surprising considering he's a weed-smoking leftist and would rather highlight thing that overwhelmingly pertain to his side while omitting the rest.

I don't feel he was overwhelmingly dispelling what the "right" had to say. He gave them ample time to explain themselves. Showed video evidence that supported their claims, then simply commented on the disconnect between what these people claim the problem seems to be and what they're actually doing at the border. This is by far the most centrist view I've seen on the topic, and that's coming from someone who is quite conservative.
While yes, the "Christians" he interviewed at the end have their own motives and can't be viewed as wholly noble in their goal, the fact they spent their time on air actually talking about what Christ taught and how to act really helps put into perspective the disconnect between the "Christians" at these rallies actions and motives, when compared to what Christ actually taught.
On that note, I don't think using the crusades to further your argument about how Christ would handle the situation is a great way to prove any point. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who looks at the crusades as a righteous endeavor that wasn't tainted by corrupt people within the church. Even Catholics. Honestly, it's a terrible way to defend this stance of a Christian army whose goal is to spread hate, discontent, and discourage people from helping one another. Not very Christ-like behaviour for people who claim to be doing what God wants in my opinion. People like this are why Christians are getting an increasingly bad name for themselves.
Also, I think you may have missed the whole point of him saying many of these issues have no effect on you. Like shoplifting in San Francisco. If you don't live there (and I can tell you don't ) then no, it does not have an effect on you. His point is not that it doesn't exist or isn't a problem but more so about the strange prioritization many put on these topics that are very far outside their sphere of affect.

veteran here, i have a 60% disability rating. i have never had to wait at the VA for any service any longer than i would have if i had gone to a private hospital. in fact, its typically way faster for me to get VA care. pretty much every person that brings up veterans not getting care have no idea what they are talking about.

the Person hauling around the cross ist the perfect metaphor for that entire conflict. The liken themself to a savior that is said to have went through great hardship by hauling the instrument of their demise over a great distance. But because that cross is heavy and uncomfortable they put some weels at the bottom and some padding at the intersection.

Very interesting perspectives. I appreciate the last 2 guys at the end for saying a conversation needs to be had with both sides (yes!!) but a lot of what they said were absolutes (it's not this way, it's our way). We still have a ways to go folks. IMO our country needs to come together, listen, talk, understand that we're all just human and doing what we feel is the right thing for ourselves, loved ones and neighbors, agree to disagree on some issues and COMPROMISE. That first bald dude actually was spittin. They need to make the process to come in here cheaper and easier while also still doing screening. One of the main reasons people are coming in here in all these crazy ways is because the process of becoming a citizen here and starting a life for yourself and your family, is so convoluted.
Expensive as fuck too. My high school Spanish teacher was an immigrant from Peru, and her visa was around 10 grand, and that was 10 years ago. That’s just a four year work visa. Or maybe two, but I forget the specifics.
But the same policy makers who oppose asylum seekers also oppose increasing legal immigration (like FAIR and the Center for Immigration Studies)
We’ve been trying since the Gang of Eight ten years ago to fix this, secure the border and make legal immigration easy again and republicans in the House have sunk it.

100% agree, but what annoys me is that one party in particular constantly nukes any attempt at reforming the LEGAL immigration process. There is straight up not enough staff within the DHS and USCIS to handle the volume of applicants we receive, which means the screening quality goes down and the time to wait goes up. Mike Johnson refusing to even bring the latest border bill to a vote is just the latest act in a string of seemingly intentional moves to continue to let the system rot and collapse under its own weight.
My little sisters husband who she recently married has been here since he was a baby not born here but he just lost his green card which he pays a couple grand for yearly pays taxes out of his paychecks for services he will never be able to use like social security. And despite what people say getting married doesn’t m magically fix that stuff. It’s a complete disaster and 5he huge influx and political bullshit isn’t helping. This stuff is sad and frustrating he is also one of the hardest working people I know and never complains. Doesn’t complain about the racism doesn’t complain about shitty jobs, he has nothing but gratitude even after all the horrible treatment and hoops he has to jump thru.

i respect andrew, just a quick comment as a business owner and friend of many who own adult family homes, we received ballots for all the people that worked for us from jamaica that are not citizens. so they do get to vote. we received voting ballots for the 2020 presidential election for visitors from my home country that stayed for a month or so.

That's pretty much how all of these stories and riots go. I was working in an office building when the Michael Brown protests were happening in Clayton. The actual protesters were about 30-40% of the total crowd. The rest were simply media - there were more media covering the event than actual protestors. People just don't turn out to these things but the media will angle the camera shots so they look much more impressive than they are. I'm not saying that organizing is a bad thing - I'm simply saying that the media always sells an over inflated narrative because otherwise no one would watch the segment.
It blows me away that people will say things like "id rather my money go to american citizens" then vote to give the money to billionaires. We absolutely should take care of our homeless and disabled and elderly, but you need to vote for people that will.

As a veteran they always say there’s no programs for veterans and let me tell you there are tons of programs for so many veterans. The problem is how they are managed most veterans don’t know of these programs and will never know of them because one they don’t tell you or the veteran doesn’t go searching for them. Another problem with veteran programs are the wait times and the people that work in these programs are very judgmental to veterans because most of them are veterans and there is that stigma of being weak for searching for help that persists till this day.
i dunno if you were in recently but it’s a major point to let every mf know what their benefits are, they make u do classes every year about em n it’s pounded in ur head over n over while ur enlisted now a days, i served back in 2015
This is true for most government safety nets because 1. They always end up with way less money than is needed to make large dents in issues, usually ending up as band aids to a gushing wound 2. Even if an initiative has semi proper funding politicians who are against supporting welfare will find a way to funnel funds to private interests so they can hire incompetent workers who waste more than they help. Both issues causing people to think socially funded programs can't fully address problems.
Citizens after enough times become less and less trusting of governments that want to help but can't if no one asks. While companies who present a worse alternative profit off the suffering of everyday folks. It's a vicious cycle.
My boyfriend is a veteran and was homeless for a long time before getting the proper help from the VA. He's starting a charity to help other homeless vets and hoping he'll be a pipeline from homelessness to a sense of stability for other vets.
