What about children old enough to understand. How were they able to understand and control their reality and manifest positive thinking? As a child, (5-12)years old. I experienced horror. I came from an un functional upbringing with lots of unpredictable violence…Highly stressed home.

You seeking and wanting to be better is a big big first step. It speaks to who you want to be and become. I'm sorry you experienced the horror of a stressful home. I would suggest that start by letting go and focus on what you desire, it is not easy but every little bit will help, like building a new foundation. As Abraham says, "When you know what you don't want, you know what you want and it is given and our job is to focus on the desire rather than the absence of it." Feeling gratitude is one thing that I found very helpful as I was trying to break my old belief. And please please be kind to yourself, you are worthy, you are deserving and you are loved.
