      You and a good chunk of Greece were not colonized by the Venetians! You were in fact part of a greater empire that lasted over 1100 years!
      Even after many years from the fall of the Venetian empire you kept the flag of the St. Mark Lion and that reflects your deep loyalty and sense of belonging to the Venetian Empire!
      That's a pity all of this is progressively disappearing nowadays with time and division.

    • @Mariyanthi
      @Mariyanthi Před 5 měsíci +4

      @@loofms9167It is disappearing cause after the unification with the rest of Greece ,the lordships were not recognised by the Greek state , so the lords of Venetian descent lost their privileges and status
      Most of them moved to Athens and lived a urban livestyle..
      Still they survive some Italian originated last names tho that have been Greekified!
      Of cause we are proud of our Venetian heritage and many ,here in Ionian Islands view it as a sign of progres ,as we were literally the only part of Greece who didn't suffered under the Ottomans and it was modernised from early eras ,as it was always part of the west !

    È in realtà un riadattamento (cambiando non solo la lingua e le parole, ma anche un pochino - in peggio, secondo la mia personalissima idea - la melodia) dell'oratorio a conclusione di "Juditha Triumphans" composto dal Vivaldi per celebrare la vittoriosa resistenza di Corfù all'attacco ottomano nel 1716.
    Le parole originarie erano, in realtà, in LATINO.
    Non era concepito per essere usato come un vero e proprio inno di Stato o nazionale nel senso che intendiamo noi oggigiorno (un concetto e un uso ancora non affermatisi, nel settecento), ma come celebrazione occasionale d'una occasione speciale: questa vittoria militare VENEZIANA (NON "veneta") e CRISTIANA e di tutto il micro-impero cristiano multinazionale (altro che "na sola nasion"!...), plurilingue (altro che "na sola lengua"!...) e multietnico, ufficialmente "di San Marco", ma di fatto semmai "veneziano" (NON "veneto"), in quanto a dominanza da parte di VENEZIA (NON del "Veneto", termine che all'epoca manco veniva utilizzato, e va ricordato che anche le città e terre poste al di fuori del "Dogado" e oggi in Veneto NON erano affatto - al pari delle città lombarde della Serenissima o di Creta / Candia, o di Cipro, o del Peloponneso / Morea, o di Scutari... etc. etc. - NON erano affatto, si stava dicendo, poste su un piano di parità di diritti politici col "Dogado" - praticamente, Venezia città più le comunità della laguna -, e lo stesso valeva per i loro abitanti).
    Bellissima musica, pregevolissima (soprattutto l'originale non modificato), una bellissima affermazione d'attaccamento con orgoglio alla Serenissima, per carità, ma non la stessa cosa che qui sembrerebbe si volesse far capire (un inno nazionale "veneto")...

      Sarà per via dei numerosi sterotipi negativi o smintuivi nei confronti della lingua veneta e di altre lingue locali della penisola italiana, e per via dea conseguente disinformazione. Per esempio quella che a parlare veneto sono solo i contadini, gli ignroanti, i rozzi e gli ubriachi, o quella che dice che non è un idioma usabile in contesti seri, ma solo per chiaccherate fra amici al bar o tanto per salutarsi e appunto far ridere (cosa invece smentibile e già sentita sia da secoli di storia che da progetti più recenti completati o in fase di completamento)

    Fake the republic didn't have a proper anthem the closest thing it had to It was the section of Juditha triumphant (which was in Latin by the way) on which this is arbitrarily based
    This is the anthem of a little populist regional party of debatable reputation that doesn't even have much traction in Venice proper
