- I decided to add a motor for my kayak so needed to add navigation lights. This method is easy to do and the best part is you don't have to put holes in your plastic boat!!! If you have any questions, pls leave a comment in the vid.

Do you not find these non-directional (or USCG approved) nav lights a hindrance in regards to being able to see past their glare on a dark night?
No. They are not as bright as you think.
wonder how difficult it would be to add an on/off switch so you could turn them off once the sun was up ?
I have a video on that. Super simple to add a switch.

....IMHO: I WOULD'VE DRILLED A SMALL HOLE AT EACH LIGHT STRIP LOCATION, THUS, KEEPING ALL OF THE WIRING INSIDE THE BOAT, AND OUT OF HARM'S WAY.
ALSO: YOU MIGHT ALSO ADD A STRIP OF "REFLECTIVE TAPE" ALONG THE GUNWALES, ADJACENT TO THE ADDED LIGHTS, TOO.... IN CASE THE LIGHTS, OR BATTERY FAILS, YOUR BOAT MIGHT STILL BE MADE MORE "VISIBLE", TO OTHER APPROACHING CRAFT....
