Great video! Thank for posting pros and cons of owning jet ski. I'm new owner, never touch water yet :) learning on your channel while waiting for upcoming season :)
Ya I get pieces of wood into the pump every now and then, junk floating down the river, but I have a plan for that, I pull up to a sandy beach and roll my Seadoo onto its side and I have a steel rod with a 90 deg. hook on the end so I can fish out said junk from the pump, good thing is that the wood never does any damage, just creates a big vibration. rocks on the other hand will destroy your impeller and pump stator, and that gets expensive.
My family and I bring our RV there all the time. One of my favourite parks. I’m from Mississauga but I hope to meet you someday!!! Been watching your videos for quite a while now. Bout a year or so
I work at a marina and I see people suck up rocks all the time, you need to keep the jet pumps away from the shallow water or you pay the price, new pump and impeller for said Seadoo... $1500 Canadian pesos every time, ouch.
You can remove the intake grate in five mins ,get a long screw driver and remove any stuck stones ( you will need flashlight to inspect for any major damage ) use some medium locktite on intake grate bolts when refitting
On the extremely rare occasion I suck some rocks or crap up into my impeller I usually go forward and then shift into reverse and hammer down the throttle, and that has seemed to work out for me 100% of the time and I ride on a 2019 gtx 300 good luck
I did it today, Sibbald Point to Lagoon City. Water was surprisingly warm, 20C in shallower areas, 17-18C out. It is probably just a wear ring that needs to be replaced, should be under $300. Last summer Quinns Marina told me 2 weeks but it was done in less than one week, so keep your fingers crossed Bob.
@@bobsudeyko4088 I am hoping for a summer like we had last year. You should try St. Lawrence river around Gananoque area, I think it is the best water to ride in Ontario. I went there twice last year and going again this year.
Want one but not paying the premium price thanks to covid so guess it’ll be next summer or the one after. Hey Bob, how’s the repair speed if you would’ve bought a maintenance plan, would they have turned it around in less time?
If the impeller is jammy and won’t turn because a rock is between it and the wear ring then you have to get it out. Problem is that it’s hard to reach without the right tools. You can either disassemble it yourself on land or take it to a dealer. It’s about an 800.00 bill Cd if the have to take it apart and replace the impeller and wear ring.
My first ever ride on the GTX which was just this last weekend, ended with me being stranded on Lake Erie after the SeaDoo that I only picked up 24 hours earlier had an iDF failure. Had to be towed 12km back. Hope you,get back out soon. If you are ever in the Niagara Region, let me know, I would really like to go and do a tour with you. Just did my first SeaDoo on my CZcams channel.
Saw your videos. I have subscribed. That Idf is a real nightmare for BRP. You are not alone. I have just ordered a 2022 GTX 300 LTD. here’s hoping that they fix that problem by next year. Maybe we will get a ride in this summer. I see you were out with Forrest.
Hi Bob, I see you got the 2018 ski from Quinns marina and your new ski from Uxbridge marina, why the change in dealers? I’m practically in the middle of 3 - Quinns, St. Onge and Uxbridge. Just curious if there was a difference. Nice to note that Monday - Thursday launching is free at Sibbalds Point.
Thanks for the Sibbald info. It was free during Covid. Nice to know about the M to T. It’s a good launch point for me. Re the dealers. I just found that I got better service and more attention at Uxbridge. If you go there use my name it may help somewhat.
@@bobsudeyko4088 sorry for the misunderstanding, I was meaning you mentioned it was free during COVID for Monday - Thursday, I am not sure if it is now, last time we went to check out the dog park they wanted $30 for a car for a day pass. Ok, thank you for the info about the marinas. If we choose Uxbridge, I will for sure drop your name and see how it goes!
Screen is too small to make it very useful for navigation. I would still go for a dedicated GPS and use that part of the screen for something else. I think GPS from a Fish Pro work the best.

Glad to see your enjoying this beautiful weather here in Toronto for the season 2021

Thanks Steve. Good to hear you got a machine to get out on the water.
Welcome back ( for Seadoo video ) I am getting my seadoo tomorrow ! cant wait to meet and ride with you soon !
Frustrating start to the season! Thanks for sharing and hope she gets fixed up soon. 👍
It will all work out. Just feel a bit stupid because I know better.
What a cliff hanger! Good to see that you can still limp home though.
I made it back. My machine will be fixed tomorrow. Wait for the update in the next video.

Not sure about how the maintenance plan works.
There is no premium price on new, it’s a set price, none negotiable.
The used ones are what’s very expensive.

How badly is your sea doo scratched up on the bottom.
Some scratches but only cosmetic. I want to explore and get into tight areas so I am willing to allow scratches. Holes are another story.
