Lovely! Question from this newbie… I’ve been watching many artists use soft pastel and came across “my art academy” and was curious what you think of that type of pastel art? I value your opinion and have purchased pastels on your recommendation:)
You are lucky to have so many beautiful pastels to draw so beautiful flowers. I would like to have both flowers and pastels. I love flowers a lot and often draw and paint them.

Wow. Those pastels look really lovely. I paused the video so I could read the story about J. Luda pastels that you shared in the video. The prices seem really reasonable, and the fact that shipping is free is pretty great. I was gifted this year with the pastel collection of a friend's mom, who had died, and I recently started to use them. You are SO right. They are very addictive and so beautiful. And there are quite a lot in this collection! Even so, I was looking at those J. Luda pastels and thinking...hmmm... wouldn't some of those be really wonderful to have! LOL. Artists can never have enough supplies. Good luck getting to 100k subscribers! (By the way, I just went onto their site. The money symbol for their prices is the Euro, and I do think that the prices are likely in Euros, not in US$, so you might want to double check that because your price comparison would not be quite accurate - the Euro is worth US$1.11 or Cdn$1.46 - and if you pay by credit card the exchange will likely be higher. They do say on the website that they are away for a couple of weeks until I think the 2nd week of August, though.)
Wonderful Susan! You've inspired me so much that I just received my Paris collection and carand'ache yesterday. Can't wait to get started. My normal medium is watercolor but knew I needed to branch out. I had been playing with the only pastels I had, soho, but can't achieve anything close to what you're creating. I still have so much to learn in this medium. I hope J Luda offers this sale again later when I'm ready to branch out again. I plan to join your patreon eventually but right now I'm so appreciative that you offer these tutorials for free - thank you and many blessings:)
That's wonderful!! the Paris Collection is one of my favorites and truly the best value for pastels of this quality. Don't get frustrated with the learning curve. I wish I had saved some of my first pastel paintings. I almost gave up, but I'm glad I kept it up to keep learning. You can do it!!!
@@monetcafe I would have loved to have seen your first ones! I remember seeing a vid that a watercolor artist that I admire did. He showed some of his firsts - it truly gave me hope:) You make this look sooooo easy peasy. But, I don't give up easily so...onward and upward!
Love your videos! Always so inspiring. I wish this video came out a week ago😭 I bought a set of richensons (2 sets of 20) and a few other things that was pretty expensive (for me anyways) and I would have really like to try these . Are they as nice as Terry Ludwigs? Maybe next time ! Especially with the discount 😀
That's okay sweetie.... I love the richeson pastels myself. And yes, these are similar to Terry Ludwigs, but their application may even be a bit smoother. @@monetcafe That's great to hear because they are probably the nicest set I've bought so far, I have bought more of the creamy oil pastels like "Mungyo" which work wel but I realized I really need to incorporate A dryer soft pastel to get a more painterly look. This is awesome. I still have relatives in Romania that we found through Facebook. How do we convert the cost to USD? These are stunning vibrant colors.
I was a bit confused by the pricing on the J Luda website myself, but they told me that the prices you see are US dollars even though it has a foreign symbol in front of it. 👍🏻☺️
How do these pastels compare size wise to the Terry Ludwig Susan? I am in the UK and we can't get Terry Ludwig individually and they are so expensive in the sets.
