Crazy what this man can picture out of that little piece of platinum and I'm over here like what's that little thing gonna ever do
The hands of a real pro 🙌
Watching what is clearly intense labour-required work and seeing it all fit together perfectly just absolutely exhibits how good Bobby is. I really enjoyed the choice of music in this video as well, it doesn't always have to be as calm but I enjoy it when it is.
I have a feeling you don't know what actual intense labor is....
@@DanBuchberger Labor intensive. It requires a lot of small work by hand, doesn't neccesarily equate to hard physically demanding labor. Making a quilt by hand is labor intensive. Intricate carpentry is labor intensive. Even catering and food prep can be labor intensive. It's not exactly breaking your back while you do it, but handmade goods require work. A machine cannot form bezels or prongs or make pavé settings around unique pieces, most jewelry is fabricated and cast with stones in place, requiring minimal labor (though I guess CAD designers do their part, as well as people who make sure the casting and wax process goes right). You could, technically by calibrating individual parts and designing pieces in a computer like so, but Bobby doesn't do that.
Again, don't confuse labor intensive with physically demanding work, they can often be the case together. No one expects rocks to come together on their own to form roads or construction that people can live in. Similarily, you cannot get hold of fabric and expect it to become a quilt, or a piece of wood into your grandfathers comfortable rocking chair. In this case, having pieces of platinum (which by itself is a difficult metal to manipulate) and expecting it to turn into a ring without labor by a skilled jeweler rather diminshes the effort and decades of experience that Bobby has. Let's just appreciate his craftsmanship and similarily, appreciate workers and craftspeople who labor for us by hand and body.
@@eavanfiontann3588 Have you considered the possibility that you're confusing it for laborious?
I personally would argue the fact that calling Bobby's work labor would actually be doing him an injustice. It's very common for that word to be used when someone is 'doing alot of work but getting nothing done'.
Thinking further on this topic, I think I do understand where you're coming from with saying this. You're using it as another term for "work". Example, "Bobby labored (worked) on this piece meticulously, for what seems like a long time to an untrained eye". And if you're going to use that definition then it would make sense to say 'labor intensive', but intense labor.... not a chance.
@@eavanfiontann3588 I also must add because reviewing my comment it may sound like I don't appreciate the fine arts. I have a great respect for Bobby, and all of the time that he has put in to mastering this craft. I think that the jewelry he makes is absolutely gorgeous. And as a jewelry collector myself, I forsure can appreciate the dedication he has for his work.
Hello friends ❤️ have a great day
Beyond impressive, production and craftsmanship wise
I confess I get teary eyed seeing this to be created....not because "oh how much I am desperate to own a ring like this" is that my soul gets moved seeing how the talent of this human being can take the Divine Creator's natural elements and manifest a beautiful art that to be this kind of expert takes long time and long hours of practice and passion...Bobby I pray that the Universe blesses you with endless inspiration and talent also with good health to continue make your clients get happy tears as they reach their hands for your jewelry that had been branded with a piece of your heart and spirit within it 🥰🙏💍💎❤ Greetings from Puerto Rico!!
seeing you go right in with your saw blade to do the slant for the seat made me gasp and hug my knees (i'm getting my ass kicked learning stone setting at the mo) - your skills are insane :D yet another stunning piece!
Excellent craftsmanship. 😍🇦🇺Really enjoyed your video.🙏 Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Gorgeous! Hope I can one day be just as skilled like you.
Pure craftmanship 👌
Fantastic ring Bobby, can't wait to buy my first piece from you.
Hello friends ❤️ have a great day 😊
It looks very beautiful this Ring and thats True its not that Easy 😊 but its worth it.
Awesome piece of work 👏
hits completely different once you start working with jewelry
Amazing ring and love watching how it is done.
I had a custom ring made for my now wife. Used a sapphire pear with a diamond halo and then the band has 4x diamonds and 4x sapphires on it on each side. Then the wedding band matches the band intermixing diamond and sapphires.
It would be amazing to say the size of the stones in the band and halo for others to kind of get an idea of the sizes. I know on the one we did it used 2.5mm stones which turned out amazing.
All thanks to videos as yours and a few others on here I was able to design it all myself.
Ooft that's some ring. Brilliant craftsmanship 👍🏻
Thank you! Cheers!
Absolutely stunning, with a vintage feel. I really enjoyed seeing all the building, shaping and soldering. 👍

the way you use your Saw gives me Goosebumps :0)) . KUDOS.
Bobby always finds a way to impress me
Out of curiosity, do small mistakes happen but they're so small they're unnoticeable? how do you fix them? Great work, as always
Hey :) I'm on my 7th week of being an apprentice jeweller and something I have learnt is in stuff like this everything needs to be absolutely pristine and perfect. Bobby is ridiculously tallented and has such an eye for detail. Some mistakes are fixable in jewellery, obviously but in things like this I believe every step has to be done just right for the final product to look as good as it does.
they can happen, but almost everything is precisely marked out in order to prevent mistakes. theres likely a lot of little scribe marks on the metal that arent explicitly shown in the video. and when youve been doing it as a career especially for as long as bobby has its rare to make mistakes on the level that would cause issues with the ring/need to be fixed. practice makes perfect :)
Hello friends have a great day 😊
@@seflaneggleton7669 hey which country ur from
Nice!
Stunning, but my favourite is still the emerald cut. The fewer the facets, the better.
finally a new video
Bobby, love the process - great craftsmanship! Will say though it makes MY eyes hurt not seeing you use eye protection when annealing that platinum bar stock!
Really interesting. And only 11 minutes of work! You must be good 😉
Another masterpiece from you Bobby, I am in love🥰 The detail and close ups are amazing and such a beautiful diamond. I wish I could get married all over again🤣
2weeks ago I was in trading center and saw a Diamonds and Jewelry store by Ribas and I walked in and I saw a true masterpiece just like watching you making it I was amazed my dream is to became a true Jewelry maker just like you
Interesting, there is something strange or out of sequence at about 7.30. That smaller bezel was previously soldered in, guessing he cut it out to put on the supports then re-soldered it? I love these clips. 🇦🇺
Luv luv ur vids bro.. from St Louis
This makes so many rings out there look like Wal-Chyna-Mart made them. I just love your artistic abilities doing this!!!
Beautiful work. I’d love to learn how to make diamond 💍 rings like that. How’d you get into making jewelry like that?
WOW!!!
I'm not quite sure why, but I felt overwhelmed by the construction of that ring. It's actually like a miniature football stadium. All those angles and measurements have to be absolutely bang on or the jobs fu@#ed basically. I don't think I ever really considered the parallels between constructing a giant stadia and a Bobby White commission, but here I am. Considering it....you're pretty cool really aren't you 😁
Happy Thursday x
NICE! New Camera ?
So Good - Do you have a blade size preference when cutting through such a thick gauge wire?
Another awesome vid. Geeza the woman pleaza. How do you get the stones to stay in the band? At least on the crown you can bend the gold over to hold the diamond. Very interested in your art.
