Putin 'unleashes surveillance' on mothers of soldiers opposing the war

  • MOTHERS and wives of Russian soldiers sent to fight the war in Ukraine have been speaking out against the conflict and appealed to Putin to get their loved ones back home to safety.
Council of Mothers and Wives is highlighting the appalling conditions under which conscripted Russian men are fighting, with little training, poor uniforms, useless weapons and absent commanders.
One woman claims that Putin is having her followed because of the criticism she voiced against the war, in an attempt to gag her.
A new law is reportedly supposed to come into effect this week. This law aimed at curbing criticisms would see the rounding up and arrest of distraught women opposing Putin’s war because their sons and husbands have been killed in Ukraine.

We (the Ukrainians) have seen a lot of those "russian mothers". Most of them have one thing in common. They are not embarrassed by the fact that their sons are waging a war of occupation against another nation. They have no remorse for the fact that their sons are killing innocent Ukrainians. If Russia wins the war and kills millions of Ukrainians, these mothers will be happy. They only start complaining and whining when they realize that the real war their son was involved in is not at all like what is shown on Russian TV. When they realize that their sons are being used as cannon fodder. But if everything went according to putin's plan, they would have no complaints.

However you can't expect other people to be brave, especially if you're safe. 20 years of Putin's rule continuously made Russians depoliticized and not willing to participate in politics...one of the ways to achieve that is to keep people poor enough that they only care about making two ends meet.

In my opinion, real love is when you love yourself and other living beings (human, animals, plants and the earth) enough to stand against Fascism, refuse to take up arms, invade another country and kill people just because you are told to or threatened using control and fear tactics of a dictator. If every man and woman in Russia decided they would not go and invade, rape, bomb, kill Ukrainians there would be no war right now. Putin cannot jail all the people in Russia, where would he put them all? These mothers had a chance to teach their sons better. Only the people as a collective can put a stop to this and overthrow their Fascist leader and government. They are not doing this. Some are fleeing/hiding, out
of fear for their own lives, some, like these mothers are speaking out of fear for their sons lives, but very few are opposing the war itself, the invasion, rape, killing of innocent Ukrainian civilians. Some will not even admit it's happening and others revel in the rape and genocide of innocent Ukrainians (as is evident in intercepted calls between Russian mothers/girlfriends and their sons/husbands) They have been brainwashed by their Government and are controlled by manipulation, fear and control.
I disagree with your statement that they "are not in this alone." They are, because they allowed it to happen. The entire world is not standing behind these Russian mothers in solidarity. Anyone with integrity is standing behind Ukraine and it's defense against an invasion that should never have happened in the first place and standing for democracy in the free world.

But we can throw out logic when avarice, and greed are involved with Vlad the MURDERER. People outside of Russia cannot imagine how hard this will be to have so many men gone for no good reason, and families will suffer immensely. The state will not provide much if anything, as we see even now a relatively small equivalent of $5000 payed to those on the front lines, yeah it's a years salary but, if they take 40+ years away from a family then what good is it?
