Just started playing two months ago and your videos have helped me and my brother get into the game.
With the way Armada has gone (and the entirety of FFG to be honest) it gives me such joy every time you post Armada content.
Its the best miniature game ever made, despite me never really getting to play it as much as I wanted its still the best.
From a time when FFG was king and the hobby was expanding in such wonderful directions. I know its nostalgia that hits me but damn, this time no one can convince me that things werent better back then.
I just fell into this game and legion. What's the difference with FFG today compared to back then?
Love that you're still making these, keeping the momentum going for Armada! With a toddler now, I wish I had more time to play this and many other games, I keep looking wistfully at my SSD still boxed on the shelf wondering when I'll ever get a chance to bring it to the table but it certainly does bring me joy looking at it.
Buy enough to have 2 teams, invite friends over to play. You can take care of the toddler and have your games ^^
AMG needs to do a mass reprint of a lot of ships. Light Cruisers, Quasars. Its hard to find them

I started with getting chimaera and the onager after core set. I love throwing the giant beam across the board
I'm A big fan for 2 starters. You get the dice the range tools, and now 12 swarm fighters. Trade or sell off the rebels and get a quasar then.

I've been rereading the Thrawn Trilogy, and as a result been looking into Armada. Very happy to see the Chimaera early on in this list.

My first ship was the Chimera for 15$ CAN since there was a huge sale at my local shop and I had fidelity points. It’s a ship I like very much, nice to know it’s a recommended one! 👍

Been playing Xwing for over six years, and started legion last year. Now some of my friends have started playing armada regularly, and it has always looked super cool. Seems a little expensive to get into so i’m gonna learn how to play first. But i’m keeping this list in mind for when I buy in!

5:48- You are correct! That is why it’s on the top even though it’s supposed to be on the bottom! But I’m also happy it is on the bottom as well! Mainly because if I ended up doing what I wanted to do after everyone around me stopped playing this game then I would have only been able to see it from the bottom! I wanted to hang a bunch of these ships and fighters from my ceiling in a was that made it look like a huge battle over “my planet” (over my head) and besides the fighters doing tricks or just chasing someone down and the ships that were so damaged that they can no longer stay level with the battlefield you would only see the rest from the bottom! And there were going to be explosions and fighters with fire trailing behind them. But I couldn’t figure out how to run all those wires without being in the way and too obvious! Plus the “best” way to make something like like it’s on fire and smoke and fire trailing behind is (the way I’m not really a fan of! And that is) using cotton balls and putting the light inside of that! If I knew how to before the end tomorrow, I would send you a picture of my blueprint drawing of what it would have looked like if fully done!?! But I can’t do that here and I don’t know what would have been the best way to send you that!?! Oh well

The EMPIRE is awesome!
First ship (if you can find it) has to be the Arquitens light cruiser. The ship itself is good but it comes with Moff Jerrjerod, who is absolutely essential to the Empire as a commander. Gives the Imp ships the one thing most of them don't have..maneuverability...and only at the cost of 1 damage (which can be absorbed by shields). HIGHLY recommend!! Makes the Empire play totally different!!
I parted with my armada fleets a few years ago and now getting back into it. Just wish there was better availability of minis. Thanks for the vid.

I was seriously about to buy into Armada when they announced Star Trek Into The Unknown. If I still wanted to buy in on a budget, is there a set you'd recommend to get one fully payable Imperial fleet? I was considering the Chimera and the card pack to go with the starter, but I'm not sure that will actually come out with one viable fleet.
With the starter, card pack and the chimaera you can comfortably play a 300 point game. I already have the Chimaera, starter and empire squadron 1 pack (home one and card pack are also planned in the near future), and I really enjoy the game.
But make sure you have someone to play with before spending any money on the game.
I bought my 3xArquitens from an international store. Good luck finding yours, new people
Funny, I haven't gotten to really play yet, but my first ship was the last one on the list. I saw the SSD, I wanted the SSD, I bought the SSD.
It is a great game to get into! Better if you actually have people to play with!!! But still very fun! I got into miniature war gaming mainly because of the painting side of it. But besides the fighters I never really painted any of the bigger ships! But my first love to this style of game was and will always be Legion!!!
Definitely have still made it hard to decide on the faction and where to start, but the info as well as the biased and unbiased opinions which are to me also are the best part of the video. You look at more than just your thoughts but on how others may play and the fun factor is something many do not understand. My only hiccup you cant say its the greatest thing ever and keep it on the budget video.... I want it now just cause you uttered those words lol, kidding but seriously. For someone about to dive into the game for the first time your videos stood out and look forward to your future content.

I found a light cruiser and a raider in a consignment sale which gave me joy. SSDs are hard to use in games when I have to carry it in my knapsack while walking to a game. Do you have a Imperial list based on Ahsoka formulating?
I'm looking to start Armada after messing with Dropfleet Commander, Battlefleet Gothic, and a bunch of naval games. There's a small but dedicated local scene where I am, so I'm hoping it'll be around to stay.
I appreciate how you talk about opponent care. Tabling is fun sometimes, but most of the time it destroys the health of players and they don’t want to play again.

14:07- I wish you would have added why you think that is “the greatest ship for the Empire” (or did you say all of Star Wars)?!? It’s cool! I agree with how cool it looks and every time I saw it in Canon it mostly felt like a threat….. but I wouldn’t classify it as “the best ship for the Empire”! The one I think is “the best” you already showed it!!! And my favorite fighter you already talked about that one as well!!! My favorite fighter is the defender! Could have won the Empire the civil war!!! But you’ll have to guess my favorite ship though!?!

34:05- I never got that one! Not because I don’t like it or anything like that! It’s just very expensive!!! But I would love to see how many dice it rolls for a attack from all sides!?! If it’s not a massive amount of dice then it’s done wrong in my opinion lol

Hi, if you are aiming to get a rebel and empire fleet would you need to get two upgrade card packs?
AMG should use Rapid Reinforcements 1 and 2 for a proper wave 11. Repainted ships, ship cards, squadrons, etc. Easy to do compared to what FFG had to do for a wave.
I'd love to get into armada! Looks like a ton of fun and I mean all the coolest ships are empire
Arquitens ILC doesnt exist, been trying to get some for a couple of years. Got nice 3d printed versions but really trying to get the real thing. Down to needing 2 ships for my Armada collection and this is one

The problem I have with rapid reinforcements is that it is print and play. I think it would've been better as a card pack, tbh.

I started playing recently. I have already bought a huge number of ships though. 😂😅 but still I am having issues finding the ISDs and Arquitans imperial light cruisers. Anybody know why that is or where I can find some? That aren’t being sold by people jacking the price to a rediculous degree?

While I do want a collection myself and a fleet for myself I doubt that my friends will spend their money on this game and as such I think I will have to work with around half the budget of what you set out for yourself

Does anyone know of any 3rd party miniature makers that are making the Eye of Sion from Ahsoka? I’d love for Atomic Mass Games to make an expansion for it. It would be so cool to fly on its own or have the Chimaera docked with it. But, I’m willing to settle for an unofficial version for now!

I have the opportunity to buy a very first printing of the Core Set (one with the sleeves recommended on the back of the box being still Fantasy Flight Games Sleeves).
Is there any difference known between this 1st printing and the latest printings (with Gamegenic Sleeves recommendation), in terms of content but also quality of the components (cardboard, stands etc.).
(Because, for example, in your rules video, the stands look more « white » than totally clear like the bases from the Clone Wars waves).
Should I buy this 1st printing box, or should I look for a most recent printing ?

I believe the box contents are identical. My stands are white because I spray painted them white - (A decision I kinda regret).

25:20- Mmmmmmm, I get what you’re saying…… to a point! Yeah, if it’s a regular game and you find out your opponent is brand new to the game and/or the hobby and just hammering them would kind of a A hole thing to do! But when it comes to tournaments, no! If you are brand new to this game and the first thing you do is jump into a tournament before you even know what is and isn’t meta, then that is 100% your own fault! No one should have to make a weaker list “for a tournament” just because there might be a new player in it that doesn’t know any better!!! Yeah, getting bodied in a tournament sucks, but no one made you singe up for it before you were ready!!! The only tournament I’ve ever been able to do was for Legion and I found out real quick that I wasn’t ready for it after the second game!!! My Record for the tournament was 1-3 and I didn’t make it to the last day (I think that was the final 4 players that did a single elimination to find 1st, 2nd and 3rd place)! But that was no one’s fault but mine! So if you want to make a meta list go for it! Your probably won’t make many friends doing it like that but if you don’t play to win then I don’t understand why you would sign up for tournament in the first place!?!

The Chimaeras symbol isn't yust on the downside of the ship. It's as well on the top. You can see this in asoka as well as in rebels... The only Thing wrong with it's modell is the fact that the chimaera is no isd 2 it's an isd 1 equiped wirh the Main weponery of an isd 2 but the Traktor beam emittiert is the big one of an isd 1.
I would love to win I have every empirical in my collection minus the big boy 150 super star destroyer maybe this holiday season I love the game and can never stop playing it.
I like how you say the light cruiser is inexpensive. But everywhere I look people want $60 - $90 for ONE! Why can this not be in stock at a normal FLGS?
They seem to appear periodically in most stores for retail price, just wait a bit and you might find one for $20

To be fair, the SSD isn’t a bad budget option, it can be your whole list for only $240.

Viewers, if you're on a budget, you need to know there's no such thing as Star Wars Armada on a budget. It's an incredibly expensive hobby, and just getting started with the bare minimum is going to cost an arm and a leg.
I'm perusing the star wars armada subreddits and seeing people selling stuff for a reasonable amount sometimes.

i wouldnt spend any money on anything other than MCP or Shatterpoint. any other game will not see anything other than the bare minimum support. or they may completely drop support. which is seems like thats exactly what they have done with legion.
