- Legendary Australia leg-spinner Shane Warne, one of the greatest cricketers of all time, has died of a suspected heart attack aged 52.
Warne took 708 Test wickets, the second most of all time, in 145 matches across a stellar 15-year career.
His management company said Warne had been found unresponsive in his villa in Koh Samui, Thailand on Friday.
"It is with great sadness we advise that Shane Keith Warne passed away of a suspected heart attack," they said.
"Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived.
"The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course."

Man this hurts. As a Jamaican, we loved to ‘hate’ him. Watched him at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica in the 1990s where he single-handedly decimated the West Indies batting. I remember I was seated right behind his run up, so I could see him plainly when he celebrated a wicket. Sad loss for cricket and the world!!

Can't believe this. Such a tough day for Australian fans. First Rod Marsh and now Shane Warne. Warney was such an important part of my childhood. His performances were an escape from bad days at school, from deaths in family and from other personal tragedies. He was poetry in motion. There just cannot be another like him.
