THAT Ball To Andrew Strauss: Shane Warne's 6-46 At Edgbaston 2005 - Full Highlights

It may not have been termed "ball of the century", as was Shane Warne's first ever ball on English soil 12 years earlier. But it was one of the leg spinners most memorable. It pitched way outside off stump and spun two and half feet to bowl Andrew Strauss round his legs. It sparked a superb spell for Warne, and his figures of 6-46 were the best ever for an Australian at Old Trafford.

9:00 Shane Warne shouts "Freddie" and then two more times to get Flintoff's attention. Just to tell him "well played."
Coming from the guy who got a 6 wicket haul in the same innings, that's amazing sportsmanship

One day another Warne, another Murali, another Hadlee or Waqir Younis, even dare I say....another Bradman will come along. That my friend is the beauty of TEST cricket. T20, 50 over, have their place but there is one true Test of a cricketer. That's why a 5 day long draw can be a wonderful game. It's a test of ability, concentration, courage and intellect.
Shaun Tait, truly terrifying pace, I have seen many of the greats, stood behind the nets & Waqar Younis, Shoib Ahktar, Brett Lee, even Malcolm Marshall and Michael Holding, while all rigtfuly in the 100mph club, none were quicker than Tate.
T20 gave him a career. His body couldn't cope with the physical commands of the TEST.
Bruce Reid was a generation early. T20 would have made him a millionaire.
Shaun Tait could rip in at 160kmp/h knowing 4 overs done and dusted.
Holding, Lee, Younis et al bowled at 145kph for 30 to 40 overs over 2 or 3 days and 5 times during a full test series. At any given moment an effort ball over 160kph and often firey 5 over spells in the high 150's were produced. Mean while the bowler is doing all they can to take a wicket. The primary focus is wicket taking. Not run protection. When a batsman makes an error he doesn't miss out on a boundary, he's out.
Swinging for boundaries works in T20, blow it and chances are the next man makes runs.
Ask Australia, England or India how being bowled out for less than 70 feels, the knowledge if you're up to the TEST in 4.5 days you might save a draw, that you may be humiliated in 2 days or like when Australia enforced the follow on against India and LOST some times a team is up to the TEST.
After the awsome side the Windies had in the late 70's thru '80s did you think you'd see the 2000's Aussies go unbeaten so long?
Now the Indians are verging on their own period of greatness. If Pakistan's political situation allows it it to can become a powerhouse.
Don't miss yesterday, await tomorrow. The future is bright.
