So neat! The reason the ball is in the mettalic colors is because you have to shake those. You don’t ever have to shake the non metallic colors and you should always lay the Metallics on their side because the pigments settle on the bottom but when on their side the mettalics have a larger area to settle on and when you shake it, it mix’s faster. Learned all this from a Tim Holtz alcohol ink class. Just an fyi
Just beautiful, and the love you show your babies! Mama has a mama, and lucky babies have 2! Julie you are so talented, I don’t think there isn’t much you can do once you set your mind to it. It’s amazing how many of us that are in healthcare- especially nurses lean toward art, making beautiful with out hands, minds and hearts! Stress reliever ? See Beauty in the world, not sure why but It happens all over.
Its cheap to buy your colored glass at the hardware stores. You can buy bags of glass at a good price. They make the colored glass for fire pits. They even have the mirror glass. Im sure you can also order it online just make sure you buy the small size glass pieces its sold in different glass in different sizes big to small pieces. Funny how when its for art they charge a lot if money for it but when its for gas fire pits its much cheaper... The puppies are so so cute, the little tiny cuties and mom are adorable...
I leave mine to dry in the cup and it works just fine as the alcohol evaporates, saves the paper towel bit. Only the metallic inks have a ball and are best stored on their side to make mixing easier. Great video :)
You all probably dont give a damn but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Victor Diego Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I actually use my own broken glass color it spread it around and bake it and it comes out beautiful and most of my colors are spray paint and I haven't blown my house up if I run out of broken glass I go to the thrift store and buy different types glass at the 90% off mark down and come home and break the glass it's really easy not hard like the gems they tell you to boil on the stove and put in ice cold water and for the mirror affect glass I 1st spray it with the Rust-Oleum metallic super gloss shine silver let that dry and then just do the other steps and you have colored mirrored glass and colored glass . Thanks so much for sharing this
How do you beak the glass into tiny pieces and not have it be sharp? Could you use empty jam jars? looled online to buy at Ikea but could not find any.
I do wish I could be your neighbor 🤭 I find you to be so kind and you have a way of bringing me such joy ... always sharing great ideas ...and sharing your animals and feeding the birds..thank you sooo much ❤️. God Bless you.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have been trying to figure out a way to make tiny crystal to fix the rubies in my ring. I will be able to do that now thanks to you! Another great tutorial!💗😊👍
Love your puppies!☺ So lucky! Birds, puppies & painting! Girl after my own heart! Only wish I had your ambition & courage to do all that you do, not to mention, whatever you do do, turns out awesome & very beautiful Julie! You go girl! ☺🐇❣💕🦜🐦🐩🐾🐾🐾
The colors are so pretty and so easy to do. This is good to know, I will save so much money AND get the actual colors that I want 😂😂😂 Thanks for sharing this 😊💕
GR8 VIDEO~ I didn't realize that making your own Colored Crushed Glass was So Easy, AND that IT would turn out SO pretty! I was afraid that you might lose That Fabulous Sparkle, but YOU proved THAT to be Something that WE ALL needn't worry about it! Yay! 🎉 BUUUT, I'm guessing that the KEY HERE is USING CRUSHED MIRROR? Fun little project, and WAY easier than that whole rigamaro with those Glass Pebbles. THAT'S Way TOO Much work for me, as health issues I'm currently dealing with are causing some very annoying fatigue and exhaustion. Thanks for the GR8 Lesson.
Not waste - LOL - spend wisely! When she said she had a JOB - and she has baby dogs - I thought the same thing - that I wish I could get as much done as she does. Thanks for all the beautiful animal & art-filled creative videos!
Never a waste of time when we learn something - especially if it saves you time and money. I just went through schipperke puppy births. Nothing like having new puppies. I kept one and gave the other to my BFF since she only had two.
I loved watching this vid. I love sparkly things, so this was perfect. I'm glad you took us viewers in closer to see the colors better, they turned out so beautiful. ❤
Awwww the little puppy's are so cute,,, as is their mum, what a lovely way to start the day,,,the mirror glass looks so cool,at first I thought that you had to break pieces of glass, with a glass cutter and then grind them,,, or heat and chill it,,,didn't know you 😘could get them like this, amazing work again. 😘👍
Lovely! Can’t wait to see the red coasters!! ❤️ Thanks again for sharing your ideas, skills, and ever-present willingness to try something new! Thank you too for putting the sweet fur babies on camera. 💕
Thank you so much for this video. I was looking for purple 💜 crushed glass in bulk.... couldn't find any, and your video popped up. You definitely put a smile on my face ☺
What a fabulous idea!!!!! Colors are so hard to find and you are right. I don't like to buy the buttons and do all the other stuff. This is perfect. Thank you so much. Hugs!
I just want to say thank you so much, for all the money that I am going to save. I tried it, and it came out so beautifu. I love all of your videos. I wish I could show you a photo.
Tkyu for sharing this - seems like an enjoyable way to calm yourself after a ruff day - I make my own rose (of course 🌹) potpourri and playing with the rose petals is so calming. All your videos are very enjoyable too. 🌹🌹
First and most important, your fur babies are beautiful. I’m such a dog lover and you seem to be also. Great video on making variety of colored glass. They all turned out lovely
If you have a silicone Matt which I know you do pour it out on there to dry so it doesn't suck up ur color cause the paper towels do suck alot of ur color up those are so beautiful
Thank you! I’ve often thought about doing this but I was sure the resin would lift the color off the glass- apparently not! Thanks for the tip about using alcohol ink with the colored glass, I’ll avoid doing that!
Idk if you have lowes or home depot over there but you can buy crushed fireplace glass in huge amounts fairly cheap. Might last you a lot longer than the small jars you have hear and they have a bunch of colors. I think they start in 10lb bags.
I think I will use a paper plate to let them dry, then I can just fold it in half to slide them into the container. I use old spice bottles and usually make them from the glass buttons since I have a million, but now I can make my own.
Awww, clever mummy doggie...so cute, those bubby puppies! Great tute. Awesome colours. Would love to see a red set! I was worried you might stick yourself with one!
I pick up crushed glass from our local recycling, wash it and sort it. Slow, but I get lots. There are 3 graded sizes to choose from. Next time I will wash the larger pieces and crush them myself. Free product to recycle into art. Just takes time.

Oh my goodness I never realized you could make your own colored glass but it's certainly makes sense Thank you very much!
Wow!!! Glad to see that. I think the ball is in the metallic only, because the shimmer separates, like in nail polish.
Wow that’s a fabulous tip. The colors are so vivid. Love your fur babies. Thanks Julie 🥰
awe thx for showing us your babies. gorgeous
Brilliant idea! You're a clever girl😉 I must try this with my liquid pigments 🤔😉
Must be alchohol inks so they dry. The pigments are to thick.

I am a cake decorator. If you mix a little bit of the magenta with the red color you will get a bright red. :)

Smarter not harder, luv it😍

Idk if you have lowes or home depot over there but you can buy crushed fireplace glass in huge amounts fairly cheap. Might last you a lot longer than the small jars you have hear and they have a bunch of colors. I think they start in 10lb bags.
Love love love the colors
I also put white glitter on some also and it just comes out beautiful
Genius idea! Lovely of you to share 🌹👏👏👏🥂

I think I will use a paper plate to let them dry, then I can just fold it in half to slide them into the container. I use old spice bottles and usually make them from the glass buttons since I have a million, but now I can make my own.
