Planning a trip to Seoul? We want to make sure you have an amazing time! So, we put together a travel guide with 9 things you must do on your first trip to Seoul - karaandnate.com/9-things-you-m...
This ended up being one of our favorite days in Seoul! We squeezed so much into one day. First we visited the Gyeongbokgung Palace. It's massive and you could get lost exploring all day. It's popular to rent traditional dresses and take pictures in front of the detailed buildings which makes it a really fun place to walk around. The changing of the guards is also a super entertaining show to watch! Next we visited the picturesque village of Bukchon Hanok! And finally ended the night eating traditional Korean Fried Chicken at the park where all the local teens pitch tents and hang out all night!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started traveling full-time January 10, 2016. While daily vlogging was not the original plan, we were having way too many cool experiences not to share every single day! Now travel vlogging is our full-time gig, and we feel like we have the greatest job in the world! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
We’ve pulled inspiration from several of our favorite travel vloggers on CZcams, such as: +Casey Neistat +FunForLouis +Jon Olsson +Mr Ben Brown, and any other talented travel vloggers that CZcams’s algorithm will hopefully connect us with ;)
We're trying something new! We loved Seoul so much that we want to make sure everyone has an amazing time in this incredible city! So we put together a travel guide called 9 Things You Must Do On Your First Trip To Seoul. Check it out! karaandnate.com/9-things-you-must-do-in-seoul/
Kara and Nate you should make one of every place you visited. I love reading your tips 😍
This was very nicely done with good filming and accompanying musical score.
Great video guys..makes me want to go
do you guys know this couple? www.boboandchichi.com/
I love your vlog
Does anyone else just love Kara if for no other reason than her Karaness?
So far I admire everything about her... the way she talks, laugh, her looks.... whole package. So lively...
I agree
Hello Kara and Nate, part of the reason people dress up is that if you are the the hanbok (traditional outfit) you can enter some of the palaces around Seoul for free. REally enjoying your Korea series, my wife is from there so we go often.
actually if you’re wearing traditional clothes you can go in the palace/secret garden for free! it was a very cool experience as an European. I love South Korea! 🇰🇷 🙌🏼
FIRST!!!
lol
actually second. the other comment was just deleted ;)
🙃
next time can you do a metro 🚠🚡🚟🚄🚝🚞🚋🚃🚅🚈🚂🚆🚇🚊🚉 video
OMG I was DYING when Nate kept getting all the flyers. Omg so funny!! YAY NEW VLOG! Can't wait to see the next one! I just wan more and more! LOVE IT!
Kara is right... Korean fried chicken is its own creature... and is uniquely Korean! I have enjoyed your discovery of Seoul and I hope you go back sometime! There is so much more to see and do!
“...there’s a big difference, okay?” Lol you eat that chicken, Kara! Loved the vlog
that first song during the changing of the guard was stunningly beautiful!
Bringing tents for a picnic is amazing to me. Also superfunny when Kara tries to convince Nate that it is Korean fried chicken. More chicken for Kara. :) Yay
K&N, the vlogs from Korea are my favs, great job on capturing the changing of the guards and for not missing the chance to partake in KFC! Kara you are a bowl of sunshine!🤗
Watching all the way from Hendersonville, TN!!
OBSESSED with you guys! Kara, you're the cutest.
Love those old areas that are done up so great to walk through and also great the no noise signs perfect. Seems you also picked a nice place to have dinner well done stay safe
Nate getting bombarded by the little old ladies with the fliers was hilarious! They were ruthless!
Can't wait to see your cruise vlogs!

That transition from the traditional music being played into the track you chose for the B roll was incredible! Nice job Kara!!
You guys have an awesome channel
I've been binge watching so many of your videos and the cinematic editing with the music during the changing of the guards gave me goosebumps!
Another great episode, guys! Story is good, editing getting better every time, Kara, and the footage is looking really great, Nate-dogg! Keep up the good work!

Double thumbs up!!
Great video!
Thank you!!
The radish cubes meant to eat after for degrease the oil from the chickens
The traditional outfits are gorgeous!
Haha, Nate "No thank you.." woman hands him the flyer anyway "okay..." with a gracious smile and then walking with his hands clasped behind his back.
THAT OPENING 😍😍😍
It keeps getting better and better lol I just said in one of the previous vlogs about night spa that it was quite a strange and funny experience, but here comes the picnic at night by the river with tents and fried chicken 😂
I love a Kara twirl!
Cool vlog! : )
new to your channel but loving it. As a past resident of seoul this has brought back so many memories. I drove past here everyday and saw the changing of the guards on my way to pick up the kids from school.
Seoul really is the city that never sleeps... I knew of cities where nightlife or shopping, or eating out is all night long. But here it’s a picnic with camping... night spa where families with kids go on a casual weekday night.. Crazy 😄
I completely LOL'd out loud to myself at 10:21 ... and I thought the Spa was crazy. - Trevor
Nice one guys! Where you headed to next?
Hiding your hands behind you so they couldn't hand you anymore flyers? Bahahahaha😂😂😂😂 That had me dead LMAO. Binge watching you guys 👍
the night scene is just magical and refreshing
I think that they have a similar "picnic by the river" culture in Oslo, Norway if I remember right...
Seoul looks so cool! So jealous!!!
We lived in Honolulu for 4 years. We went to the fish auction one day when we had company visiting. It was the most interesting and fun thing we did the whole time we lived there. Enjoyed this vlog.
Damn this is the quality content I’m here for
Kara you are so cool and funny
A Korean fried chicken place is opening up right across the street from me (literally, right outside my window), and now I'm super excited for them to finally open! I didn't realize how much of a thing this was!
As being half Korean glad to see y’all have such a wonderful experience. I haven’t been there in 10+ years I’m long over due to go back. But excuse me now while I call my mom to try and get her to make me some dumplings 😂
3:00 Actually you get in the palace for free if you rent a hanbok ( Korean dress) and its just fun to take pictures. There's a shop nearby that lets you rent them for around 26 US dollars. Great video!! I love watching you guys travel the world. Gives me something to look forward to in life.
I was there about last year and it was terrible to watch the changing of guards near the big hella drum. But surely a must to see it when you go to Seoul. I was supposed to go back and spend longer time but covid happened and it sucks. I left my heart in Seoul and will surely comeback!!
Please do a video about 1 thing you loved about each country you've visited so far in order of your visit. :D
The tents at the river are pretty intense. LOL Sorry couldn't help it! That chicken looks bomb!
if you ever get the chance to go to seoul again, BHC chicken is my FAV w/ the brinkle dry rub (SPICY !)
Cool changing of the guards. Would have liked to hear what they were playing.
A Korean fried chicken restaurant just opened up near me and I can't wait to go.
The changing of the guard outside Buckingham palace is much more spectacular. Shame you didn't see it.
Regarding the people wearing the traditional hanbok costumes: You might not have known but admission to all 5 of the palaces ( Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung, Deoksugung, and Gyeonghuigung) is free to those wearing hanbok. Because the hanbok can be rented for such a low price, that may be why you see so many dressed that way
TIP Hanbok rentals usually run 4hrs. and cost 13,000~15,000 won
You walked past a home that is in a korean drama called my first first love. It is also know as the ark of taste i believe ... no too sure but So excited to see this!
Omg when Nate said "no thank you, okay thank you" and just accepted it... so funny
most visitors of gyeongbokgung wear/rent the traditional clothes (hanbok) because it really looks pretty and they get to enter the palace for free. :)
Vhan Eison so you pay to rent clothes in order not to pay the entrance fee? Is the entrance fee so high?
@@martinc.720 entrance fee is so cheap.
The people there are gorgeous
You guys are making me miss Korea soooooooooooo much! Omg! It's definitely one of the better places I have been....I've been there more than any other destination! Ha! Now I have to decide wether to go to Korea again (for the 5th time!) or try somewhere new (thinking Qatar!) we shall see!
Ive been here before!! It's so cool, oh and the people wear the hanboks because if you wear one you get in free
really curious. what cam did you use to shoot during your fried chicken picnic? really impressed how it handled the low light. sony? another awesome vid BTW
What was the cold wet stuff...lol
Great video y'all have such a great way capturing the beauty and cultural of each place you travel...why didn't Kara dress up in one of those cute outfits? Also I love trying to spot the photo bombers in the videos....lol
Tonya Miles it is pickled radish. They have pickled vegetables with almost everything.
Thanks for showing us the World
방문해 주셔서 감사합니다 !
Dear Kate, if you happen to have a single twin, who enjoys long walks on the beach, tell her I'm available! ha sidenote, both of you are awesome, thank you for showing us the world through your eyes.
What a video! So beautifully captured. Now jump over to your North Korea videos.
I really hope you don't get tired of seeing my name pop up, but I have so much I want to say. First of all... THANK YOU! You have been the spark that has reignited my fire. I only wish there was a way to know what vlogs I haven't "liked" yet.
I WILL 👍 them ALL.
NEVER STOP!!! ❤♥️❤
"This is KOREAN fried chicken.... there's a big difference ok!" Kara is absolutely right lol! ... the white cubes are probably pickled daikon radish... GREAT with greasy food
great....as usual.. Great filming and editing of the guards changing. So jealous Im not on a trip likes this...have fun you two
Was this chicken thing going on all day, and night, and all year? Mamma Mia!
Strategic hand positioning 😂😂
i love the fried chicken🍗🍖
mmmm radish!!! :) it always comes with chicken...to cut the grease (at least that's the theory! :))
Real Seoul Food
I was stationed there while in the Army 1972-1975 and 1987-1988. At that time a lot of people wore ceremonial clothing so that preceded Facebook, CZcams, etc.
