My current plan allows me to use power for free from the grid between 11am and 2pm. Can the Franklin battery be set up to recharge from the grid at this specific time of the day (not charging from solar during the morning) so I can use the power during the evening high peek cost time (4pm to 9pm)?
Also, my electric car has a Vehicle to load, can i use this to charge the battery too (in place of a generator during long power outages)?
Loved the review, I am likely to purchase one of these. they seem to be so flexible.

Hello @xiaowei1, The answer is complicated. Yes, the FranklinWH battery system is capable of charging from the grid during specific times of day and using the power during peak periods, but your utility provider may have rules against that. You would have to look into the interconnection requirements of your specific electricity provider to determine if that is allowed. Another issue is the federal tax credit that most people claim when buying solar and batteries. One caveat of claiming the tax credit on your batteries is that they will only charge from on site renewable energy sources. Currently the federal tax credit covers 30% of your total system cost, assuming that you have a tax liability of that size over the course of 5 years max.
