The finale of the Rise of the Horned Rat was the most depressing of the End Times. I felt genuinely bad with the fall of Karaz-a-Karak and the final end of the Dawi Empire. It just felt like something unique had been lost to the world. The final stand of the Dwarves in Middenheim in The Lord of the End Times seemed like the perfect way for the Dawi to go out. Defiant and obstinate to the very last of their race.

I'm pretty new to Warhammer and I love it really like these lore videos but to me it seems like the End Times were pretty poorly written almost like GW just wanted to rush through and wrap it up. Maybe that's a bit harsh but I'm just not a fan of how alot of it played out especially the dwarves I think kinda got the short end of the stick.
My personal thoughts on the end times is that after ascending the steps instead of Deathmaster Snicth killing Thorgrim and surviving Thorgrim pulls a Queek and kills Snicth before he can escape
God it was finally going great for the Dawi, they finally had hope of Reemerging, but then end shit time happened and fked up all this history that now we know it didnt matter and everyone died

Also Belegars mission is condemned to fail due to not having enough numbers. Thorgrim was doing an excellent job as an high king, but the dwarfs as a whole were still losing ground.

Great video, I have been waiting a while for this one and it was worth the wait. I never read the End Times books, I mostly hear tidbits about it during the uproar every dead of a major character caused and have no interest to ever read them, his finale battle was awesome to hear but his death is still BS. Only a few more weeks before that piece of 'history' will be allowed to change.
As merciless as Thorgrim is, I at least love the fact that he would take the time to converse with Louen on his reasoning for executing the captives. Obviously the universe is often portrayed in a comical, black-and-white way, but I'd like to imagine some of the dwarves would at least pity the captives in their final moments and offer them some words of comfort, even if the dammaz kron demanded their execution in repayment of Dwarven lives. When the races and cultures are so storied and ancient, the act of giving respect to other races feels much more meaningful. Like how the High Elves generally have a profound respect for the children of the old ones and will usually get out of their way whenever possible.
Lore your lore vids :D Do you plan on doing some faction overviews/lore videos? And will you do some geographic videos? (like a video on the Old World, Lustria, Southlands etc and the terrain, factions etc that dwell there?)

Excellent video, with one exception, Grimnir is pronounced Grimneer, not Grimner. Hearing a dwarf god pronounced like he is an Orc is grating, lol. I loved everything else in the video and greatly appreciate it.

How do the dwarves feel about sharing new technology with other races that they are allied to? Like when they developed the Gyrocopter,would they consider sharing that with the Empire,in the interest that if the Empire has a Airforce,maybe they would be able to assist the dwarves against their many enemies,by bombing the crap out of them?
+Rellana1 well a lore-wise reason could be that it's probably not a good idea to entrust such powerful technology to a race that is so easily corrupted by Chaos, they are allies but many dwarves don't really trust humans that much and given the human's history of betrayels, corruption, oathbreaking, etc they have plenty of examples to say why. Also dwarf technology can be further augmented by Rune magic and humans can't make runes and the dwarves would not make or give knowledge about runes to them because of the same reasons as mentioned above. (even among dwarves it is difficult to convince a runesmith to pen down their secrets to preserve his or her knowledge when they didn't find a apprentice worthy enough to share that knowledge with, many powerfull runes have been lost this way, so you can guess the chances of humans trying to do the same thing.) Game-wise explanation however is pretty simple, the armies would be too simulair. originally dwarves had a ton of technology back in early-warhammer but over time the empire got some variations of that technology and that dwarf tech was then removed from the dwarf army lists. The main point is that giving the Empire access to dwarf tech takes away the uniqueness of that technology that makes a dwarf army special.
the dwarves teach and actively train empire gunnery schools, yet retain their mastery and their grasp of the technology is second to none. I believe what technology is shared, is only limited to what the empire is willing to embrace... and fund. The Dawi are always eager to show off their toys. I can only imagine there is a humie some where trying to squeeze into one.

The only thing Thorgrim needs to do is land a single blow on Grimgore to cripple him or destroy his axe wich he really likes to do in important fights. But Grimgore is one of the worst written op Characters I have come across so who knows.
This is super late but as a skaven fan I think I could provide a good opinion. Thorgrim is the best leader the dwarves have ever seen but ungrim is easily the best warrior. Ungrim has fought archaon in the lore for a long time but eventually lost without hurting him even in an explosion of flames leading me to believe that thorgrim would get one shot by the everchosen. Grimgor has also fought archaon ,with his magic as most people say grimgor gets wrecked by magic which is his biggest weakness but he surpasses it most of the time, in the fight with archaon grimgor gets a great head butt in which destroys the extremely powerful artifact the eye of sheerian and almost kills archaon before his greater demon in his sword comes out surprising the shit out of grimgor as you would expect and getting him decapitated. Due to this I believe in a fight grimgor would win. I also believe in a fight between an army led by both of them grimgor would win but have no army left besides himself and a few of da immortulz
Everything ok until his death, im good with deathmaster snikch killing thorgrim, but the way he does its disapointing. I think it would have been much cooler if snikch assassinated Thorgrim in the middle of the battle after his duel with Queek.
yes, its confirmed in slayer that grimnir has actually been using it to channel energy into gotrek to let him take over grimnirs job of keeping the chaos gate shut (fighting permanently until you eventually die,which means death is inevitable and all you need to do is wait, which for gotrek is a win, therefore gotrek motherfucking gurnisson won the end times. irrelevant but i like to bring it up because he deserves a happy ending) afterwards he gives him thorgrim's axe to kick in the shit of be'lakor. but considering that counts as end times its not really canon for most folk despite being a good book. technically in lore there is debate that grombrindal wields his other axe given his "fuck you im grombrindal so i beat everything" powers, and given his father forged the axe and it belongs to his uncle it makes sense he would have it.

Yes. No one likes the end times. Characters got stupidly overpowered, did things kind of against their whole personality and stuff.

dwarf warriors, dwarf warriors with great axes. Thunderer and Quarrellers are able to help in empire's armies but that's only it.

Everything ok until his death, im good with deathmaster snikch killing thorgrim, but the way he does its disapointing. I think it would have been much cooler if snikch assassinated Thorgrim in the middle of the battle after his duel with Queek.

yes, its confirmed in slayer that grimnir has actually been using it to channel energy into gotrek to let him take over grimnirs job of keeping the chaos gate shut (fighting permanently until you eventually die,which means death is inevitable and all you need to do is wait, which for gotrek is a win, therefore gotrek motherfucking gurnisson won the end times. irrelevant but i like to bring it up because he deserves a happy ending) afterwards he gives him thorgrim's axe to kick in the shit of be'lakor. but considering that counts as end times its not really canon for most folk despite being a good book.
technically in lore there is debate that grombrindal wields his other axe given his "fuck you im grombrindal so i beat everything" powers, and given his father forged the axe and it belongs to his uncle it makes sense he would have it.
