- This Timex Ironman watch was ticking away quite happily, but none of the buttons would work. In this long-form video, you can follow along as I dismantle the watch to try and diagnose the problem. Is it repairable?

God bless you, Mr. Long. I never would have been able to fix my watch without your excellent video. The video and audio quality were both excellent, even to the extent of being able to see and hear those little clips popping. In my case, after changing the battery the wrong way, I found the little gold connector loose on my table. Where did it come from? Your video gave me the answer. I fired up my cheap old soldering iron and now it’s running again. Thank you!

20:23 Killer iron on the loose.
Would work better with 2-3 mm tip and flux, but heck that costs more than the watch.
You should replace the solder with real leaded 60-40 solder. The lead-free solder snapped.

Why did you never show if the indiglo works or not?
I think I did press the button, but the room was far too bright for the Indiglo to show anyway. I can confirm that it does work fine after the repair - the whole watch still works fine even now.

There isn't an obvious model name or number on it anywhere. The only numbers on the back are '854' and '05'. From what I can tell, 854 is the movement code, but the same movement is used in lots of slightly different cases, so I guess 05 is the code for the specific case.
