As soon as i saw the photo of Marie it came straight back into my memory 😢 as a 70's kid i remember all the murdered kids and women, they are etched into my brain and have never left, thank you Emma for bringing legacy to these older cases ❤

A case near me has been on the news again recently, about a woman who was set on fire in a church yard in Eaton, Tracy Merten in 1994 and they never found her killers, your platform would be a great place to bring light to the case again for her family x

Didn't believe it back then, don't believe it now. When the news first hit of Marie's death, my mum said, and I quote "I bet his wife is pregnant, whoever did this".
Eurgh- cant believe this absolute bastard ended up living and dying in Lampeter......this is MY OWN home village, a tiny town in west wales . Right when I started watching it I thought he looked incredibly familiar , a few inquiries later I realise he was the guy who died suddenly. ...IN A HOUSE BEHIND MY STREET, I just didnt join the dots up, had i done so earlier in my life I'd have known to avoid him. This piece of the puzzle has left me feeling extremely disturbed 🙁

I have to say that the police response was stellar if I heard you right. Within an hour they had police complete with canines, helicopters, and everything. Some modern cases take a stupid amount of time organizing for a missing child. Why is that?

This one will always be with me only a month before this I was eight months pregnant and a man tried to grab me at 9.30 morning in broad daylight he tried his best to pull me to the floor saying come on I will pay you. I don’t know where I got my strength from I bit his hand and punched him full force in his codgers and ran as fast as I could to a busy main road I ran out and was barley missed by a bus. I got inside my cousins house and collapsed to the ground shaking and crying we phoned the police and do you know the copper asked me are you sure this happened? I was completely speechless I have a full description of the sick bastard who by the way was holding an A-Z road book the police said they was going to investigate the area where it took place that was on the 29th of September I had my daughter on the 13th of November 1988 and from that day to this the police never got back to me. Still loving all your content Emma it’s so well presented 10/10 kid❤️❤️

Whenever i listen/watch one of Em's clips..and it finishes, I find myself reflecting on her last words as i think about the case.. I just sit there quiet...still and in thought...as the last part of the clip plays the music...and think Bang on Em..Bang on..😅
I remember this 😢I’d just had my second daughter about 3 weeks before. I remember thinking how horrific this was 😢poor Marie and her baby 💔not to mention how scared her little sister and son were . He should have been locked up for good not let out 😡. And to be given that amount of money is disgraceful 😡. RIP Marie and little 1 💔💔

Just where I lived, I used to live off junction 1 of the M50 and now live in Tewkesbury. The M50 has never been that busy. My hubby remembers this case.
For me the Motorway is way easier than country roads, but I sure as hell do not want to go on the M1 here in Gold coast Australia, freaking scary. And of course, a psychopath wants to be in the army, reason why I have no respect for the armed forces, it breeds psychos.

I traveled many miles by myself back in the 20th century haha. I always feared breaking down thinking some murderous weirdo would stop to 'assist me'. I became interested in true crime back in the 60's as a kid when i'd read my dad's True Detective magazines so maybe that's why i was always cautious.
My mom used to get those, True Crime and True Detective. I might still have the one with the story about my babysitters husband. He killed his two daughters. 1964 Claude Ray Napa California.
I think that's why I'm addicted to these shows. I grew up reading that stuff.

I was only little when this happened & I remember asking my Mum why someone would want to hurt a pregnant women.
I think there was a movie made based a bit on this. It was called the Hawk I think & had Helen Mirren in it.

I remember this very well. It was in Worcester which is where we live. I believe that he murdered her, obviously because he had a row with his pregnant wife.
I couldn't recall exactly what had happened, he should never have been granted a retrial or have been let out, or for that matter be given £600,000.
It's disgusting the way he behaved and the way he was let off due to double jeopardy.

I also remember the Memorial Service at Worcester Cathedral too.

I hit a fox once, on the way to working a night shift in winter. I got out to look for it but couldn't see it, so I thought it had run away (sadly injured). It was only when I arrived at work 20 minutes later, there was an awful smell coming through the vents, I got on my hands and knees and saw it had fused to the exhaust box of my car...😮😢😱

What???!! He was let out and given £600k. That's ridiculous. And how did he not end up in prison for one of the many crimes he committed afterwards? So awful for the family of the victims (I include the unborn child) who were let down by the UK justice system. Awful case.

how did the judge who released him live with himself... it's one thing to grant them a new trial but to be released entirely and not be able to be retried?? idgi
Would it be possible that someone under genuine hypnosis ...would be susceptible to added info not by choice but the same way it wasn't like he could've produce a notebook with a reg...he surely trusted the process..so if it took hypnosis wouldntvhe have doubted himself a second time with all this pressure..:/
I’m really no expert on hypnosis, however, it’s often used to treat addictions, ie; smoking. Back in the early 80’s I did (at my mums request) try to give up the smelly horrible habit. I had 3 sessions and on each occasion the hypnotherapist failed to hypnotise me! And I carried on smoking! Then I became pregnant and anything and everything made me sick, as in vomiting and not just feeling sick. During the pregnancy I was admitted to hospital several times as I started to loose weight too. My baby was born a decent weight, happy and healthy and on the plus side, I fitted straight back into my little size 8 clothes! Sorry gone a bit off topic, but if people are able to be hypnotised and/or are susceptible to auto suggestion, I think it’s definitely possible that this could be the case. Great question tho, not everyone will contemplate this. ❤

It is ridiculous that he was released and even awarded a huge compensation just because of that hypnosis mishap. 😤 Law was a huge @ss in this case. Can not even imagine how her family felt after that ludacris of decision to release him. I have no doubt that he was guilty.
It is very easy to read maps and navigate yourself to another part of the UK, I used to travel with my father he was a heavy goods driver from the age of 4 I learnt how to read maps and follow road signs, to give you an idea that you are near the place that you wanted, I still do not use sat nav, I look at the map plan my route and get going, never been lost yet
