You're unlikely to die much at all, and if you play on easy difficulty, the creeper is significantly nerfed. Like, on easy, the Creeper usually can't even kill you even when you have no armor at all.
I was mining today in my hardcore world and got about 22 diamonds, then when I happened to mine into a cage a creeper decided to bomb me and I died. I had finally gotten a good seed too.
Not even joking i was on my 4 month hard-core world and I had full diamond cause I had to make a new pair to get netherite with good enchants, anyways i thought let's see how much damage a creeper can do and I died lol it was kinda funny though

I’m not gonna lie i found great loot at the , i was out -2000, N/A, N/A and i was at the cave and there was water and i hover over because i saw diamond and i saw a creeper and it was gonna explode, i literally crouched to cover because i have a shield. It did not let me cover using my shield and i raged quit and got back in Minecraft again 🥲

It is but the enchants are doing the heavy work which begs the question why bother with armor when it doesnt really help you take few more hits when Shield can do the same at cheap price all you need is good reflexes because Shield has deceptively brief window when it doesnt work such as when you start guarding, in third person its instant but in first person you still can take damage during brief bit which led to my usual creeper sneakin up death
@@KL53986 Because not everyone have good reflexes, nor uses mouse and keyboard to play. Shield only blocks attacks, but you can still be damaged from anything else, like fall or fire damage.
This video was much more interesting that just the chart at 3:22, thanks! However, it could benefit from experiments where the netherite chestplate is replaced with an elytra. Also if there were just netherite pants and boots, or just netherite boots.
I’ve died 4 times to creepers on my hardcore worlds but this time I spawned next to a village and they trade for blast protection 4. Now I got full diamond with that and can worry a little less now
how did it happen? did u dig straight down n fell into lava pit? i never die from it since im careful but this creeper snuck up on me and killed me. now i always go for making leckterns n making library villagers first to get enchants early.

It is crazy to think how much armor it takes to withstand a point blank Creeper explosion, but then again, you are right inside of it and unless it falls on top of you, that'll rarely ever happen. Also, seems like Enchantments do a ton when it comes to surviving things better, seeing that even the lowest of armor can fully protect you if it is enchanted.
thats why now i prioritize finding villagers, leather and paper to make books and lecterns. then convert n breed villagers to make them into librarians over n over til they give a good enchanted book deal i want, usually protection n mending n unbreaking first priority. damn creepers

Creepers deal about 70 - 80 damage. Dumb thing is most damage is targeted at your feet so if creeper is above you you take less damage alot less damage, its ridiculous how explosions in minecraft are strange in their power strength sometimes they are weak for mining but strong for damage, yet Creeper can easily outdamage TNT if It wants to
Also the armor reduces less damage the more damage you receive. Its meant that light hits wont even scratch you maybe at all but hefty blows still are hefty
Creepers are secretly OP. By that I mean they deal 1,5x more damage on Hard yet 2x less damage on Easy. On hard they deal about 70 - 80 at close range their range is about 3 - 4 blocks. The explosion damage calculation in minecraft is pretty strong yet also flawed as most of damage you receive is if you got your feet exposed
@@ambitiousaydinclips5278 this is only the case if the creeper explodes on your same block. This almost never happens; it could happen in ravines, that's why I absolutely avoid them in hardcore mode. I did the testing, blast prot 4 on one piece of armor, the rest prot 4, with elytra on, you can survive a surprise attack, because creepers actually explode several blocks away from you (provided they didn't fall on you or you didn't walk to them by accident)
tips: Blast protection:TNT,end crystal,creeper,charge creeper,ghasts fire charge,withers projectile explosion,i think. Protection:All melee auto attacks and thorns damage projectile protection:arrows,trident,ghast firecharge,withers bullet,guardians laser sh*t,and elder guards. fire protection:Lava and fire feather falling:protection against fall damage
When I first started playing Java I was getting used to keyboard so I would be on easy mode and kept getting 1 tapped by creepers with enchanted iron amour it was bs
this is why you ALWAYS have one armour piece with blast prot while playing hardcore
Pants are the best for blast protection due too blast dmg targeting the lower part of the player.

There is a way to actually reduce the damage of the creeper by this enchantments:
3 Protection IV on any armor + 1 Blast Protection IV on any armor
Just get full protection 4 u dont need blast
i recommend you 2 Prot IV,1 projectile Prot IV,and 1 Blast Prot IV on your armour
died 5 minutes ago to a creeper from about 4 blocks away. Had full iron execept for a gold chestplate, I as so salty
