The Honda smaller V-Twins are real gems and perfect starter bikes. Great revability and torque. Honda Transalp, GT647 Hawk, Suzuki sv650.

I have a really nice 2004 shadow 600 VLX. Stock except for the mustang seat, cobra pipes and deluxe chrome air cleaner cover. Lots of other chrome pieces on it. Mine had large leather Willie and max leather saddlebags. Mine only has 6600 original miles. One day I will make and post a video.
