3rd generation American. My grandparents came over from Ireland on my moms side. Served my country. Plus 16 months in Afghan. Have a tattoo of the fighting 69th flag cloud/ lighting over the harp on my shoulder. Got it with a couple other sons of immigrants in tribute to the fighting 69th of the civil war/ ww1 fame. Our relatives. Irish people need to understand something before they get mad about Americans flying Irish flags and calling themselves Irish etc. We’re speaking specifically about Irish AMERICAN. Complete off branch of Irish. Own culture and history etc. forged in blood on countless battlefields and it’s a culture that’s been growing separate from Ireland for hundreds of years. It’s a sub genre. We’re not talking about you. We’re literally talking about us.
