When driving in the freezing rain keep your windshield as warm as possible. If you’re driving in snow shut your sleeper off so it stays warm but keep your cab cool as you can do the snow doesn’t stick to the windshield. Do not run defrost. Put on vent or feet and run it cool. You will be surprised on how clean your windshield will stay. Be safe young lady!!
It blows my mind how you get through some of that tarping and untarping. That is major work! Props to you girl!
You get used to it I had full lumber tarps about 200lbs it made tarping low loads a pain but a hour to tarp average,I pulled flats for 9 years drove trucks 42+ enjoy it but be careful I fell broke my back and was forced to retire so please be carefully retirement is boring

Hey Becca, Take one of those torn up tarps that was left on the trailer. Then cut that thing in half, and you now have a half tarp. They'll never know. Good stuff, and it's always good to watch us flatbedders in action. Stay Safe!
All the girls we had in our company didn’t make it 6 months. They either give up because of the tarps and weather conditions or they keep crashing. You are built different and that makes me smile to see you doing the dang thing

Hi Becca: First time looking at your vids and I am so impressed with your efforts, determination and accomplishment. I have done the deck work and feel your pain tarping and tying down. It is obvious that you can and will be successful. Keep learning and persevering and you can get to your goals and dreams. As a 40 year driver and ex small fleet owner I have hired woman drivers and would have hired you in a heartbeat. Just a lil word of advice. Walking under your trailer is a no no
I'm sure you've busted your head more than once. But you can also decompress your spine or break neck. Not to mention adding a few stitches or two. I stood up into rail of mine. Causing a stinger. Paralyzing myself for what seemed like forever. Buy only was a couple minutes. Since then I discontinued doing that. So just a few words of wisdom. Keep up the great work you're doing. And Be Safe

Ya I hated doing tarp loads, too. The only thing different is that I pulled a step deck for almost 2yrs out of Wichita, KS. Just came across your channel last week and now I’m missing the driving and flat bedding. I started out hauling livestock. I enjoy watching.
The more I watch your videos the more respect I have for you. You impress the hell out of me with your will to get the job done. Doesn’t matter what it takes, hours of service or riding on forklift 13 feet up in the air. I would drive team with you anywhere. Tip an old boy taught me, and I’m old soooo.
Next time ur at a truckstop grab a 5th wheel hook. They got em in several different lengths. You can hook it in the eyelets of the tarp and you got a handle make them tarps dance like they’re scared!! Lol
Also real handy for hooking them hard to reach bungies. Hook it in the small end of the hook in the bungie reach them high dhooks.
Super handy, I’m 6’5 230, use it all the time..

NW Iowa hardly any traffic. Family in Tyler ,TX, and AZ. Run locally as I pretty much always have, 23 years now. Im also amazed as your choice for trucking. Do you of course, and you do it well. Tons of options out there, everywhere. I did high stress fuel in big cities for many years, over it. Now haul feed, small town NW Iowa love it, and making super ot. They don't want to pay for the weight of the water or rain. My dad had to investigate truck weight problems from loading to the boarder, it turned out to be the snow that was picked up on the highway and sticking to the truck.

I use a four tarp setup. Two ends and two straight tarps. They are easier to handle and are good for when you have a smaller load.

I have the utmost respect for you doing the tarping and flatbed work.
But that’s definitely not worth it getting less than $2 a mile.
You can easily get more than that for doing regular no touch freight with 53 van loads.
We don’t even start our trucks unless is pays $2.85 mile

I used to tarp until they started paying vans more to move it. As long as there's a broker, it'll be a cheap rate to the truck.
