Really enjoyed that and love your straight talking and honesty! More please!
Imagine camping on a sunny day...... we don't get sunny days here in Scotland!! All we get are short spells of not pi**ing with rain. Any campervans up here have simply taken a wrong turn somewhere down south
Love it!
😂👍
excellent comment however Scotland is beautiful.
Give this guy his own TV show 😂 funny as f#ck.👍🏴🇬🇧🏴🥃
🤣🤸😅🤸😃🤸🤣🤸😂
Classic car market is fluid, it’s fired by nostalgia, 90’s and 2000’s cars that teenagers and 20 somethings, wanted but couldn’t afford are going to be the sector to watch.
Mr2 mk 1 absolutely gorgeous
The cost of living is shutting out all but the wealthy who are able to obtain these vehicles at bargain prices. Businesses like your own selling honest cheaper cars are well positioned in the current financial climate, and from what I see from your uploads it's hard work but all credit to you for keeping folks on the road.
Classics may be the option for some. Once Mao Tse Starmer prices our modern cars off the roads
The Ford Scorpio - The back you can just about live with, but the front... It's a comedy classic!
yes the back does look very American, front is just to scary
Had one in Aubergine,a Scorpio came in P/X in 2001 in pretty good nick indeed! That was traded on pretty easily (Dunno why) 😆
The designer missed that specsavers session for sure
That Saab 9000 was an absolute steal!
I thought so, thanks for watching sheps
Nice to have been there I'd have bid to buy it
Proper car
@shepshepherd if you know you know ,only intelligent people buy a saab ,once you've had one you know.
I thought so too, just so odd it didn't even get closer to £1,000.
There was actually 2 Ford Scorpios in the sale, the other one was a 2.0 manual ultima estate which sold for £2600 ( I was the underbidder ). The estates didnt look too bad as from the back they looked like a Granada and you couldnt see the front from the driving seat!!!
Great video Lee, please do some more Classic Auctions in the near future.
will do plan to do two this year on site filming
Always like these auction videos you do & the funny little comments about the cars that went through. Loved that MK1 MR2 ❤ Worked for Toyota & drove both MK1's & MK'2 & always wanted one or the other...still to this day i haven't owned one 😞Damn right about those 2 door Nova's 👌Top gear (Clarkson) showed how to steal them Nova's i think by turning/flipping the hazard switch upside down & doing a bump start.
thanks for watching bud 👍
I said about this on Saturday as I was watching the auction....... the drivers look as if they really hate being there, not one of them had a smile on their chops. The guy driving the Green Caravelle looked as if he had swallowed a wasp
that mr2 was gorgeous
Hi,
Only just found your channel (and now subbed) and have been going through your videos, watching this though makes me feel a little old, I remember the MKll Jag when it first came out, it was an instant hit with the bad guys and the Police, my father was a Police Traffic Officer and used to dive them, he loved them...
You mentioned the 206 was your first car, my first car was a '69 Vauxhall HB Viva and my father's first car was a '47 Austin 10...
Thank you for taking the time making these videos, please keep up the great work...
All the best...
Andy...
thanks Andy welcome 👍👍👍
I remember when the ultima came out, I went to pick a new limousine version for the mayor up, God it was lavish, I can live with the looks now.
36.28 the facial expression and comment creased me.. im glad im not the only one who doesnt vision that dream 😅😂
👍😁
When I was a kid my mates Dad had a Rover P5 - my Dad had an Imp and another mates Dad had a Reliant estate - being taken to the baths in the Rover was THE experience I can tell you
That Jaguar 3.8 MK2 with a rare derrington steering wheel and that reg number would have sold for at least £40K in the late 1980's when everyone wanted them! How times have changed! A bit annoyed at that as i own a nice solid 1964 3.8 manual but i bought the car as i love it rather than being any sort of long term investment, 1960's car values are dying because the people with nostalgia for them are dying off, Classics in favor now seem to be the 1970's, 80's and 90's stuff like MK2, 3 Escort's, Capri's, S30 Datsuns, Fast Volvo turbo's, Ford Cossie's etc.
agree some of the 80s 90s cars are really taking off now which is a real shame for the older stuff. however great opportunity to buy a jaguar or triumph
Lots of practical classics have come out of the woodwork in the last 20 years and most models are available in large numbers. In my opinion, I think they are going to drop significantly in price. Mathewson's family are selling lots of their own cars including 14 historic rally cars that they own.
Excellent 2nd part of your video Lee , The Mk 2 Jaguar was the arm robbers car of choice in the 70s , some good cars there and cheap 👍
Keep them coming
Not a lot of money about. Maybe because it’s 121 days till Christmas 🎅🏼 I like this content as well and thanks for taking the time to do this along with your other content. Will man with bike get a new bike from Santa??
Gtv is a good buy providing the suspension is all good .And the Twin spark was a good engine and probably suited the car more than the heavier V6
yes I know some prefer the 2.0 as it was more balanced, but I would want the noise from the v6 personally
Another informative video. Always follow this auction local to me. You didn’t mention the RARE (only 5 on the road), but in very good condition A reg Datsun Stanza that sold for £4,800 plus fees!! As mentioned previously, get your 6 finger gloves ready for November, else they won’t let you in. 😅
Scarce stuff at banger money. Incredible. Deff a trip away for the next one.
306 Cabs are such a lot of car for the money - especially the 2.0Ltrs that go like the proverbial sh.. off a shovel and handle as well
Haven't even watched it yet and already got a belly laugh.... couldn't think of anything worse 😂 absolutely spot on
Hi Lee, how strange my partner and I were only talking about the Ford Scorpio earlier today and our exact words we “it has to be one of the ugliest car ever” 😂. Stay well and loving the channel xx
it was Sharon, just ahead of the fist multipla
Great instalment I like these online auction ones
There was a 1 owner elan that was fought over, amazing, 1 owner since about 1968
Lovin Your Work
Rodney Jack, what a blast from the past! Always had the game of his life against Bolton!
😂👍
Great video Lee. Many thanks
Bought a Gt6 in 1982 for 180 quid needed the usual sills under bonnet arches and front quarter corners, moved to Spain before I got chance to do the rebuild sold it for 350 quid to my dads mate💪😎.
Excellent video again!
Good vid mate, the green Transporter belongs to Mk2 Mitch, seen him in the background! Been a couple of MR2s gone through the auction up here. How did Clarkson describe the scorpio ... A wide mouth frog!! 🐸😂😂
yes a car that scares small children the ford scorpio
I’m with you Lee on not wanting to camp in the back of a van, leave that to the lunatics 🤪
i highly recommend going to the viewing days if you dont like the sale days. (thursday and fridays before the auction weekend!) very nice people, they always make you welcome and great food and drinks at good prices.
1964 Jag MKII having a Reg mark SEP 871 must be the last year of the 'ageless' County style plates. So before August 1964 when I assume letter A for the year began.
I put a set of those Scorpio wheels on my mk 2 mondeo ghia x ,they looked good but the et was all wrong 😂
I had one of these Nova's.... The wiring loom caught fire 🔥.
It was ahead of its time.😅
I had an Alfa 156 sport wagon 3.0 manual….lovely car all round and little problems at about 10 yrs old
My dad had a ford Granada ghia , it went for ever ,
MK 1 MR2 yes please. I do wonder if 80s cars may peak soon because the people who remember them as the cars they wanted get to the age where they aren't in the market for them anymore? I had an MK 2 MR2 in the late 90s, lovely thing but probably didn't handle like the MK 1
Nice vid. The green camper looks like one that belonged to a fellow CZcamsr (mk2mitch)
It is that one, I paused the video to go check cos it just looked too familiar to me, doubt he'll have sold it for that silly offer.
Most classics have dropped around 20% over the last 6 months. With a few exceptions.
1980's Fords can go bonkers, and conversely pre war cars have slumped further.
When Labour were last in power, they froze the 25 year rolling VED exemption.
The Tories reinstated it at 40 years.
I guess that may be frozen or even reduced in the near future....
agree, labour are not car friendly in my view
I had the mk1 Mr2 in the early 90s, cracking motor,
that mini needed a lot of chrome work! if the chromes shite whats underneath!
I would have been tempted by that Alfa - struck me as dead cheap. If I had a garage to put it in to keep it nice....
If you hadn't you could just watch it dissolve in the rain. My experience of Italian cars before I went German.
That ugly Scorpio with the BBC reg number....... 2 reasons not to be seen driving it.
That green mini went through Saturday. Didn’t seem like there was any money on Saturday but Sunday a 99 Mini Cooper with 20k more miles than the green one did £11k with fees. There was a lovely Vauxhall viva 1300 gls in superb condition and low miles made strong money and a decent 1800 magnum estate that made half the money as the Gls.
Sunday's Mini had leather and wood
I’m glad I’m watching this now, I’d of had that P5B
That GT6 looked ropy on the door fit, I've got a 2 owner low milage 306 CC PUG in my garage which I might re commission as my daily driver now I've retired early. Cheers K.
Cost of living impact plus consultations and discussions regarding dvla classifications of classic cars going on re rebuilds Q plates perhaps affecting buyer confidence
Can you explian why prices are cheap?
How has ULEZ and city emssions zones affected prices or are about too? vans prices are bizarre due to it.
That escort van was cool👌😎
Great Video love your videos
Thanks so much!
Think our nearest one here in Scotland is in perth at an old airfield Morris Leslie ,theres a 3500 sdi series 1 i may go look at
Oh, I once owned a 306 Cabriolet Auto 1.8 in that exact shade of green but it was an electric roof, there was just a manual handle each side of the windscreen for the final closing / locking of the cycle or to begin the cycle if opening it. But I thought they were all Electric eh ? 🤷♂
The Alfa was an absolute bargain.
Daylight robbery! I wouldn't of held in my excitement if i bid an extra £200 for that & won! Clarkson or May said it was the their best engine?
Excellente Mucho
👏👏😎
My controls supervisor had one in the day escort van
I had j Reg Astramax boxy van pocket rocket
Never seen one today.
My childhood travelling round in back of escort vans from F reg right through to brand new S reg before change to L200 double cab pickups
Brilliant video LEE love the classics very cheap I think. But it takes ne back
thanks for watching John
Great vjdeo this Lee. I personally want banning from ever attending that auction 😂 I would cone away with 10 cars, no money, a remortgage, and a divorce 😂 Have to disagree with you on the Scorpio vs alfa, didnt personally like the alpha, thought the Scorpio would be much easier and more enjoyable to live with and £2400 for an old ford with a cossie engine! Looked a bargain to me, would have bought the navy blue van aswell, had it all sign written up and maybe put a 2.0 zetec engine in it.
Rodney Jack…what a player…One of my faves…Enjoyed watching him every time, waiting for magic to happen.
Can’t believe an old shitty Ford would make more money than that lovely GTV V6.
9000 looks the part. What a nice thing for bobbins all money
Couldn’t think of anything worse! 😂😂😂😂😂
Dave the auctioneer sounds as if you are listening to Channel 4 Racing with his monotone voice.😀
Say what you like about the Scorpio, it was a real head turner. Granted, in the other direction.
😂👍
I’m stealing that if you don’t mind.
@@VLG105 Very welcome
Looked at a Scorpio in the late 90's, a 2.9i but not the cosworth. It was cheap for a relatively new car ( then ) and well equipped. Running costs meant I went with a Cavalier instead.
Although most of the the cars looked cheap, in the Sunday auction there was a Bentley Mk6 Estate that reached nearly three times its upper estimate.
In Australia an Alfa GTV of the spec would be advertised at AUD10K
thanks for watching Ian 👍
2001 Ford Fiesta Ghia, one owner from new with full MOT and 38K on the clock for £1680 out the door. Why would you spend the same money on a 09/10 plate one with 120K, unknown history and 6 previous owners?
Ulez
You mention silver a couple times. Most unappealing colour for a car imo, especially on a sporty car as well.
Agree, been looking for a car for weeks, fed up with seeing ads for white and silver cars, they are everywhere - dull
back in the early 80s when I was a long haired spotty teenaged apprentice, it was the GT6 that did it for me. the fastback Spitfire GT body is gorgeous and with the right rear suspension they handle quite well too.
Saab 9000 for £600? that's an awful lot of car for peanuts!
really surprised how cheap many of these 'classics' sell for
Think your right about the Peugeot cabriolet, don't rot much so if maintained and used sparingly,I can see all the late forty early fifty people will get all sentimental about it,and I can see upwards of 8 grand in 10 years.better than in the bank.
Since when did a Ford Escorts & Transit van become a "classic car" why 🤔
j reg is 33 years old now, hard to see them as classics but they are technically
It tends to be because people in their 40's/50's want to relive their enjoyment of their early cars. Fords were generally great cars so a 20-25 year old would be driving one of these vans in 95/2000 and can use man-maths to justify having one today.
@@ColinCarFan Yeah,so true. But i wouldn't pay those prices.
MR2 might have been an import? Looked an auto, rear number plate too high, aftermarket radio and auctioneer said ‘limited edition’ am I right or wrong?
I wonder if any will pop up on stone cold classics web site?
The alfa looked like a peice of retail kit to me.
gopping uggly the ford scorpio loved a granny i did just like Rooney lol
I'm sure that Rover P5 coupe had four doors.🤔
Got to be that Escort petrol van......what a bargain
I really liked that, would love to use that as a work van
Out of them all you looked at, the Escort van appeared to be the bargain, a good one to put away as a cheap investment. The Mk2 Jag, if not rotten, looked cheap. Finally, the old 47 Austin appeared very original on the body, what a steal!
Escort van had done 126k miles tho
You can go live on general sale every weds be good to see what you think on normal prices in norfolk compared to aston barcly
306 almost suited th
Jade Green
Some stuff well worth the money, but ANY FORD XR RS OR S will make ££££££
Hated the Scorpio loved granada just not scorpios
I want that MR2 ❤❤❤
We'll have to arm wrestle for it first 😀
cheap car that gt6 dad worked for triumph mum had a spitfire that colour come down the line with a 2 litre straight 6 in
I spoke to my father in law about the pricing it’s the age group younger blokes don’t want older cars !!
Yeah accidents in car parks trying throwing some money to security to dig out film footage.
Its £18k for a lock up in Preston to keep it in!!😅
Of course prices are dropping, the normies are flat broke in most cases, the financial debt game is up
Shame Saab went skint .. great cars ..
Fiesta…never had one. Tempted. Alpha……never had one. Have to one day. Scorpio…….not in this life. Stock car potential.😅
Is that a Corby trouser press behind you? Have you been on Bullseye?
no Barry a Corby trouser press would be useful, it’s a running machine which as you can tell I don’t use a lot 😂
Scorpio engine probably worth as much as the whole car
The Ford Scorpio a car so horrible it killed the Segment for Ford in Europe what the f were they thinking 🤣
Crazy!! A 1947 car!! £1500 quad
I don’t think euro car parts will have any parts in stock for it
@@carukchannel very true. You was right... It belongs in a museum
It's shocking how much time and money were spent on these cars to fetch very little money. 😢
