if it wasn't for D&D we would never have had Game of Thrones.
Watched GoT during the lockdown and this masterpiece had me totally absorbed. So much so, that the characters felt like family by the time it finished. I miss them!
I am currently rewatching GOT - again. I'm not put off of 70 amazing episodes because the last two didn't meet my expectations. Still one of the greatest shows of all time.

Seasons 5-8 were all bad...
You're being extremely generous...GoT got progressively worse from roughly the end of Season 4 onward...and while there were some very good episodes scattered throughout seasons 5-7...if one objectively views them from story arc, etc...even those don't work properly as part of the whole. That is because after GRRM stopped his main involvement after season 4...Dumb and Dumber were horrible. There are countless in-continuities, abandoned and nonsensical plot and story lines/arcs/characters, etc...moronic progressions/directions of the plot and overall story...etc. The last two seasons are utter garbage...and frankly the entire season should be lost in a studio/vault fire. No show has driven more devoted fans away from a wildly popular series since "Lost"...
D&D are/were hacks...and fairly talentless ones at that. Outfits that continue to hire them and toss projects at them are morons.
They forgot to say that peter Dinklage played in Infinty War. Looks like marvel is casting the whole cast of GoT
Also in X-Men: Days of Future Past, and many other movies. He's not hurting for work.

I know it doesn't seem like a loss, a rich person's problem but it is akin to a farmer or homeowner losing their home after it was in the family for generations. Plus, castles are extremely costly. Personally, probably the best think for them financially. Castle ownership is crazy. Don't get me wrong they were rich but it still probably still hurt on an emotional level.

@@kazetoame Not really, his character will be a super minor insignifiant character. Richard Madden is the one playing the relevant character from The Eternals that will be important in the MCU.

Eternals is an ensemble movie and Kit is apart of that, it’s not a small part, considering it’s his character discovers tomb of the space gods, he also has a romance with Sersi (one of the eternals). Black Knight appeared in the Avengers comics. So, bringing the character into the future Avengers movies is possible. Watch Emergency Awesome’s Avengers Eternals First Look Teaser and Marvel Comic Con Trailer Breakdown video, Charlie mentions that Black Knight is a main character.

I just did and the more I watch the show the worse everything gets after Season 4. I think Season 5 is forgivable, Season 6 was at least watchable but 7 and 8 are unbearable.

just came here to say that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau did two movies in 2019 Domino and one danish movie called the suicide tourist, as some may have forgotten, he is a danish actor and also does a lot of danish work which doesn't go into international theaters, and he also has done a movie called krudttønden which is from 2020 which is a movie about one of the latest terrorist attacks that happened back in 2015 in denmark. So Waldau is still keeping busy just not so much internationally.
Not to in 2019 he had a series airing about his travels through Greenland. Amazing series!

I just finished watching GOT this morning. Everything about is amazing until the last finale. I just felt sooooo empty. Like it is incomplete. The finishing arc of all the characters was 'meh at best.

It was a world wide phenomenon, plus all the reviews, discussions about each show made it must see. It was a long addiction for many viewers. So many emotional scenes. I think the most emotional, most powerful for the whole series, was Hold The Door, Hodor. So many fans openly cried on that ending, go back and see. Great acting by so many people for so long.

Idk; everyone expects grandiose deaths with this show. I liked that it was meh. She spent that entire show ensuring that her family stay on that throne and in that castle. In the end, it was the castle that killed her. And Jamie died exactly the way he wanted to . . in the arms of the woman he loved.
He should thank God he hasn't seen the ending of GOT. Wish I could unsee it too.

I saw Kit in True West last year in London (front row!), Indira Varma in Present Laughter, Julian Glover in Night of the Iguana, and Conleth Hill in The Antipodes. I still have a ticket to see Emilia in The Seagull once the madness is over. So basically what the cast has been doing is entertaining me. Indira was the best - just an amazing performance.
And I completely forgot (how could I?) that I saw the wonderful Gwendoline in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Twice! I'm so lucky to live near London.
Kit was going to do a play with a Anne Hathaway on Broadway and hopefully it will happen when the pandemic ends.

I did not like the ending, but it did not prevent me from watching the whole season 4 times. We cannot judge and ditch the efforts, excellent actors, superb writing and one of a kind production just because the end was not what we wanted. They screwed it up, but the series still the best EVER!

Why do people keep saying Maisi was 14 when she started GOT? She was 12!! Does she look 14 in those first episodes!?? NO not at all. Just a minute of google search and you could've gotten this fact right, but even Honest trailers got her age wrong so I guess it's a common mistake. Also, New mutants was not postponed again, it was in theaters a few weeks ago.
Don't think I will be re-watching Game of Thrones anytime soon. The show was all about twists and turns. The Anticipation is all gone knowing what happens.
