    What an amazing Vengence model!!! Just WOW!
    I really enjoyed the story you put together from the piecemeal fragments of the lore. The only thing I wonder about is mothballing the Vengence program. The one sad truth about governments is that once a tech exists, no matter the ethics behind it, a government will capitalize and build on it to give them any advantage over potential adversaries. The Federation/Klingon cold war during Kirks' time is just one example.

Great example of how to merge ideas from a different timeline and how to make things fit. It added weight and "reality" to Kelvin timeline. Bravo.

    @davebignell773 Před 2 lety +2

    Very impressive video, and the weaving together of the characters and events from different eras is very clever.
    Unfortunately this ship has always been an issue for me.
    In The Wrath of Khan the USS Reliant was a more modern cruiser, roughly equivalent to the refit USS Enterprise. Reliant gained an advantage through an almost perfect ambush, but when it came to the second fight in the Mutara Nebula the 2 ships were very evenly matched, with Kirk and his command teams experience at space warfare eventually proving decisive against the inexperience of Khan and his crew. But all the way through, Reliant always felt like she was a match for Enterprise - in almost every exchange of fire, the Enterprise took more punishment and casualties (the image of the Enterpise's port torpedo bay being engulfed in flames from the Reliant's phaser hits and the crew members caught in the inferno is still haunting).
    And then the "not a remake" Into Darkness came along, and pitted its version of the Enterprise against a massively overgunned and overpowered superdreadnought with an edgy name... With the obvious and completely predictable result - because plot.

    I will never understand why a ship designer would put a massive structural weakness in form of a giant hole right in the middle of the saucer section, where its core systems would be the safest, presenting the enemy with that much more surface area to attack.
    Also, why does a ship with such a minimized crew need so many windows everywhere still, all structural weaknesses? And that on a designated DREADNOUGHT cruiser, whose purpose is to be as rugged, tough and survivable as possible.
    A clear case of looks before sense and function.

    The Vengence is a cool ship, but it's also full of nonsense design. What's the purpose of the carved out areas of a warship? If it's a warship and nearly fully automated, why is it so large? Why was its best weapon mounted facing foward in a 3D battelfield? The answer is that it looked cool in a movie a la Star Wars.
