- Behind the scenes with independent Japanese streetwear designer Shohei Kato. Find out what inspired Shohei to create his popular-in-Harajuku Japanese fashion brand.
HEIHEI is an independent Japanese fashion brand often seen on the streets of Harajuku. The brand was created by Bunka Fashion College graduate Shohei Kato in 2013.
In this feature, we go behind the scenes of several of HEIHEI's lookbook shoots and also talk with the designer about what inspires him, how he first became interested in fashion, what influence Harajuku has had on his creative process, and much more.
The first HEIHEI collection featured oversized unisex fashion with bold graphics mixing elements of kawaii and grotesque. Harajuku style icon Hirari Ikeda was the image model for the first HEIHEI collection, and Hirari has returned several times to model for the brand since that time. We also talk to Shohei about the experience of working with Hirari Ikeda.
The second HEIHEI collection was inspired by baseball and other memory fragments from Shohei's childhood. The third collection "HEIHEI Dalmatians" features artwork inspired by movies and toys from Shohei's childhood.
We hope you enjoy this behind-the-scenes look at one of Japan's up-and-coming fashion designers. For more info, please check the following links:

Am i the only one who thinks he's kinda hansome?
Yes i'm not alone (*^o^*)
The people who go all out like this are so brave. I'm trying to start dressing lolita and I admire anyone who steps outside of their comfort zone.
this interview was so genuine i love it. it made me feel inspired to see the world and create new things of my own. someday, i want to do something i love and make friends doing it too, no matter what i end up doing. im still in the stage of not knowing where i'm going with life lol. :D for some reason this interview made me feel happy tho idk ???
Heihei means bye bye in Finnish, and it's kind of a cute cute way to say goodbye.

thats so cool, someone else commented that it means goodbye in finnish!! i wonder if he knew what a neat name his brand is when he chose it !! maybe it was on purpose i wonder !
where can I find Eri Saruta in social networks?
Is there a specific name for japanese street fashion
No logramos nada solo quejandonos
Saludos desde Argentina
who is the purple haired girl? she is very pretty!
Sposami
what's name of last song?
Hei hei means bye bye in finnish
because we're flawed we have fashion
I like Japanese street fashion way more than American fashion. It's just my opinion.
don't worry, I'm not upset, I just wanted to see if you knew about anything else other than what you were talking about... just checking. :)
Типа другая планета , окей?
he sure would like slovakia
+Kaname Itaru (ectoplasmLunatic) why do you think so?
+Monika Macková i think he mentioned something about other countries' fashion sort of. i don't remember and i don't have time to rewatch the video right now but i think it was that. (prvky z krojov by sa dali dobre vyuzit :P)
05:44 shes beautiful
I wonder if Lego sues him
En la mayoria de los paises latinos estamos "estancados", siempre los mismos modelos que no expresa nada, aburre!! SIEMPRE SE NECESITA DE PERSONAS QUE HAGA LA DIFERENCIA. No logramos nada solo quejandonos
JAPON LO LOGRO
hey hey this is library
Some outfits were cool and some where weird as fuck
lol did he have a rebel flag bandana on? dafuq
Chapstick.
sorry, but i think its ugly .... I dont like it :(
I think this has more to do with mental illness than actual fashion
I love Japanese people but they need to stop wearing afro hair styles
why not? it's their choice if they love it they'll want it. if their inspired by black Americans then let em be!
How is it offensive that they are attracted to one other's culture? This would be the equivalent as me saying I don't like it when black people straighten their hair/buy weave.
Oops I had deleted my comment because I actually realized what I said came across wrong. And was ignorant, and I can own up to that. But you are also being quite ignorant with your own comments. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Anyway, I'm sorry for offending you, however I honestly still do not see how hair is offensive to one's culture. I'm Asian, and you are African, so I guess we view things differently when people take something from our culture to incorporate it into their own.
This is one of the most dumbest argument I've ever been a part of. It's quiet entertaining 😂😆😆
princess pino fuck off
Ewwww
