    It's that time!! 😍Our BEST OF 2020 roundup is here and boy has it been a year of discoveries (inside & out amiriiightt?! 😜). This is the first of our two part series, where we kick off our UNDER $25 holy grail picks! There has been a lot to love this year, amid everything else going on, we were able to focus on our skincare through self-care with these amazing and affordable finds! We focused a lot on hydration this year to soothe the skin, fade hyperpigmentation, prevent acne and breakouts, and everything in between! We talk cleansers, balms, toners, serums, moisturizers, sunscreens! Make sure you leave your comments below if you've tried any of the ones we've mentioned, or suggest something we should try, and remember Part 2 will be this Saturday 😉xo - BW Fam

    Loved the video. These ladies are so enthusiastic about skincare products. They made me look into my own routine as well, with positive effects :) I do feel like almost a third of the products they mention (in any random video) is either their best find, or the 'I've never had such a great glowing skin before' kind of product. And they test and review so much!

    I bought the big jar of the Clinique moisture surge! Worth it! I tried the Wonder Toner, but it didn't really do anything for me. I think I'll give it a second chance though. What really works for my dark sports is the Derma E Scar Gel. I get really stubborn pimples around my cheeks, near my eye area as well. People thought that I had bruises or black eyes. I started using the Derma E Scar Gel twice a day. In 2 weeks, my hyper pigmentation was about 2 shades lighter. It used to take me MONTHS to get those kinds of results.

    I have very oily acne-prone skin and I've been breaking out worse than I ever have in my entire life this year. So I grabbed the Haruharu Wonder toner after one of the first times Fel mentioned it was a game changer for her skin. I'm so sad that it broke me out like CRAZY! Tried it a second time just to make sure, but had the same result. Ugh. Just a public service announcement that even on similar skin types, you could have very different results, unfortunately.

      I actually would recommend the tranexemic acid from naturium over the mandelic. Since the tranexemic acid is proven to be more effective and also is compared the hydroquione (the number one pigment lightening product). It also has kojic acid and niacinamide which are all brightening agents.

    I really liked the consistency on the versed cleansing balm but i think the eucalyptus irritated my eyes 😢 my boyfriend uses it as a double cleanse and he really likes it though! He has extremely dry skin so sometimes that’s the only cleanser he uses and his skin is so soft and nourished after! The eucalyptus doesn’t bother him so I think it just depends on how sensitive you are to essential oils

    • @sprigganpanda
      @sprigganpanda Před rokem

      Idk for the back but for my arms I just use the same products I use for my face, just I use my body lotion instead of my moisturizer. My arm skin and acne matches my face so I don't have any body acne dedicated products. It's still skin but just thicker and can handle more so sometimes a heavier product is needed, hence why I don't use my face moisturizer cuz it's not heavy enough for my body skin. Exfoliation wise idk, my skin kinda just rubs off with a towel if I take a hot shower. Depends on how delicate or not your skin is.

      When I was on Accutane I found a cleanser that was sooo gentle but so cleansing and makeup removing I still use it to this day. Purlisse blue lotus cleansing milk. It is so so good. Gentle but removed eye makeup. It doesnt foam either it is just a beautiful product. Hope this helps even a little. Accutane is tough but worth it for me anyway. Best of luck, I know it's hard but dont give it up unless you really have to. It's over sooner than you realize.💜

      A bit late, but when I was on Accutane my skin was peeling like crazy and before using it I had oily combo skin, so I was completely out of my depth. What worked for me was using a sleeping mask every night and facial oil. The Ordinary's Rose Oil paired with any hydrating sleeping mask (I used the Innisfree Green Tea Sleeping Mask and Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Hydrating Mask with Avocado & Swiss Water.) Hope that helps.

      Hey there is an AMAZING dupe on Amazon Prime for ~$10. Its called Eva Naturals C+ Skin Clearing Serum. I posted a comment about it. Check it out and the ingredients are iiiiiincredible. I hope that its available where you live and for just as cheap as here. Hope this helps. It's like one of the only skincare products I repurchase over and over.

      There's a number of things you could do, but I'd recommend a vitamin c + ferulic acid + vitamin e serum (Timeless; must wear sunscreen) in a morning routine. Vitamin C is packed with antioxidants to help your skin fight free radicals. If vitamin C doesn't work out, I'd use an antioxidant serum in the morning (Beauty of Joseon Calming Serum). Vitamin C also helps correct fine lines and increase skin cell turnover. Product subsitutes, if Vitamin C doesn't work and you want to increase cell turnover, I'd look to AHAs, and then BHAs, and then azelaic acid, and lastly PHA.
      And with any of the above always always wear a sunscreen! Sunscreen also helps greatly with preventing signs of wrinkles.
      Along with that, a good moisturizer every night, staying consistent. I hope this helps!

    • @sleepychild9781
      @sleepychild9781 Před 3 lety

      @@queenb2450 A good moisturizer, an antioxidant serum (morning), and a sunscreen are the first things I'd do. For treatment, vitamin C + ferulic acid + vitamin E (helps with acne, brightening, finelines, has antioxidants) would be my first pick.
      Retinol is known for being a superstar ingredient and often gives amazing results. However, though I've only looked into it slighty, there is some debate over whether it causes endocrine disruption (hormones). I'd look into it more.
      In terms of percentage 0.025% is all you really need for retinol, and it helps avoid potential irritation, while also airing on the cautious side.
      However, this can only be done through perscription or custom skincare lines like curology. I haven't found a regular over the counter 0.025% retinol product yet.
      If you did want something over the counter and decided retinol is what you want to try, a good starter product that comes to mind is from Versed (its gentle, though I don't know the percentage of retinol). I hope this helps!

    What about Good Molecules. You guys got me hooked on their entire line. And I do mean their entire line. When I get a box, there’s so much stuff in it, it’s super heavy and it was like maybe, at the most, $124, which includes tax. Like 13 products for that price! My skin has never looked and felt better.

    Hi Felicia. I have a question, it would be great if anyone would help answer me. I remember that Felicia told in her video of 'How to layer active ingredients' that we can mix vitamin C with niacinamide and azelaic acid with vitamin C. Well, I want ask can I use all three together for my oily, acne prone and non-sensitive skin (during day)? And another thing. She also told that we can use niacinamide with tretinoin. Can I use any other above mentioned ingredient with it as well like azelaic acid or vitamin C (at night).

    I have started using Granactive Retinoid for a couple of months now. Is it important to use moisturisers with ceramides and/or peptides when using retinols?

    • @ansleychan3490
      @ansleychan3490 Před 3 lety +2

      Don't use peptides! Peptides increase the penetration of retinol causing unnecesary and extra irritation. Ceramides are great though for strengthening the skin barrier and help with a damaged skin barrier.
