I used to work for a lady who was just like Gloria and she was probably the best manager I ever had.
Gloria is my image of the perfect wife. I liked the episode when she took out the trash and saw a rat near the garbage cans and was slightly startled by it as most women (and many men) would be. So she went into the garage and brought back a shovel she used to beat it to death and then just scooped it up and put it in the trash. It was a reflection of her upbringing in rural Colombia. Modern Family was plain hilarious and with perfect casting, but of course it was the writers who created their personalities and words that was the basis for everything.
The true problem is not the bug or rat... is the paranoia when they disappear
I loved the episode where she and Manny collect coins and reminice the time they were poor. Gloria used to drive a cab and Manny used to be on her side, a little baby boy stuck with a seat belt hanging around with his mama. They had been through tough times together and that little hint of their past made me tear up. I think its wonderful that she got everything that she deserved when she chose Jay- love, respect, a whole big wonderful family, and a grand lot of luxury to enjoy.

Discrete earplugs are a thing, and Gloria, being very fashion-aware, would very likely use those. Ranges won't let you in without hearing protection.

What’s funny is that in the one where Gloria shoots his foot, you can tell it’s fake because when the gun sound effect is played, she already had her hands all the way up. But that’s the only one. All the other clips had near perfect sound timing.
